The basic setup is this: VB.NET application, using Windows.Forms, a parent form is shown and the user interacts with that. Now, I want to show a child form, modally, configure that form with data from the parent and have the user interact with that child form and then return information to the parent code.Here is one approach that I have used, but it is a bit awkward. i decided to use toolstrip and inserted some buttons but end up that it doesn't do the validation for control and also doesn't call leave event of textbox control.
so my question is, anyway to use regular button functionality for toolstripbutton or there is a way to add regular button on toolstrip.
I am trying to add a TabPage containing a UserControl to a TabControl at runtime, because the number of TabPages to add are determined at runtime.
The UserControl (objDataInfo) is just two Textboxes, two labels and two Radiobuttons, nothing too exciting...
The TextBoxes have their Anchor properties set to Left, Up, Right so they scale with the width of the usercontrol.
The TabPages are added in the constructor of the form, which takes the number of tabpages to create (n) as an argument:

My program handles XML files that have certain elements within a root-child node that are identical expect for their inner text value. So while populating my combo box with all of a root-child's child element's names I get like five identical items listed. Which brought about the problem of selecting say the third item and getting the value of the first displayed. So I came up with a loop function that determines if the selected combo box item is preceded by one of the same name, if it is, then it adds +1 to a counter variable and keeps checking farther and farther up the list. Once it loops to an item that doesn't have the same name it exits and it reads the Xth (X = counter mentioned earlier) element's inner text from the file. This works great for elements 1, 3, 4, and 5. But not for 2. A while back when I was focused on this problem I discovered the root of the problem but I was unable to circumvent it. I'll put the loop below so you can see the problem in action instead of trying to follow my verbose explanation:

So, my problem is that whenever the form is executed..a user would type in a worker name, and the amount of pieces made. I get a dollar amount earned and then a total pay, though they seem to be the same. More than likely I've got some sort of bad logic in there mathematically.
im using VB 2008 and been trying to use the RS232 at 5 baud and setting the baud to that rate seems to go ok but when put in pratice it seems way to quick and doesnt work. I put that down to its to slow baud rate and not supported. I only want to send 1 byte so tryed it manualy by this ........

I am currently working on an ATM prototype in VB.Net and have encountered difficulties when trying to return values from two different recordsets in the same table. I wanted to set the value of the 1st record to be equal to the exchange rate for dollars and the 2nd record to be the exchange rate for euros. rate 1 is fast.. is there any way to slow it down? but rate 1 is suppose to be slow.. when i set to rate 5, cant even understand what she is saying.
