Starting A Timer With Button Click

I only have had 2 vb classes now in school but I rather like playing with this. I am trying to figure out how to make a button click start a timer that will bring up a splash screen and then close and then close the program. To clarify I want this splash to show up on exiting another simple program that I have already wrote. Also are there any online resources that anyone could recommend to me? I have found a few places but most of the .net ones were limited.

I have a series of buttons that I am handling with a single method (Button_Click). I use the sender.tag to determine which button was clicked. I want to simulate clicking btn3 with a Timer. So when Timer1 triggers, I want it to trigger the Button_click method, but indicate that btn9 was clicked.
I have:
Private Sub Button_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btn1.Click, btn2.Click, btn3.Click
Dim i As Integer = CInt(sender.tag)
In the Timer_Tick method I would Call the Button_Click method, but what do I used for the sender and eventargs?

i am trying to set up and start the timer for few seconds when I input the timer seconds value in the textbox and click the button, wait for the timer to countdown then show up the messagebox. [code]When I input the timer value in the textbox and I have clicked the button, it did not start the timer for a few seconds which it show the messagebox straight away! How do i start the timer for a few seconds by input the value in the textbox and click the button then wait for few seconds while the timer start to countdown then show the messagebox??

I have an update panel that has a timer set as the AsyncPostBackTrigger.In this Update Panel I have a repeater and in the repeater I have a few buttons which have on click events.
The on click of these buttons does not appear to fire until the timer has ticked.I have tried debugging and this is what seems to be happening, either way it takes ages for the button click to actually fire.
Does anyone know why this would be and what I can do about it?

I am having a bit of trouble with a countdown timer I am creating. I work in a call center and the average handle time of each call is important, so I created a countdown timer for the agents to use to help them manage their call time. Along with a tab for the average handle time (AHT), there is a countdown timer for their break time, and also a stopwatch tab. It functions well, there is only one snag I am encountering. When I am on the "AHT" tab for example, the timer counts down from 8 minutes in the format of 00:08:00. (hours, minutes, and seconds are all in separate text boxes) When I click start to start the timer, rather than counting down from 8 minutes in this format, it goes to 00: 8: 0. Then it goes to 00:07:59 and counts down properly.[code]This isn't all of the code for the program, but it is the code for Timer1 for the AHT tab, and the code for the start button for the AHT.

I have a background worker which runs, at the start it stops a timer which has it's interval set to 500ms, at the end of the bgworker sub it starts it again. I've debugged and found out that the line that starts the timer up again (tTimer.Enabled=True) runs. However the timer does not resume. I'm don't know, but I'm thinking perhaps because I'm stopping and starting it on another thread it's not resuming properly or the sub it was attached to (via AddHandler) has been reset or something so it's running but not running the code in the sub it was attached to. If I never stop the timer in the code, it continues to run just fine, but I need it to stop at the start.

I have a timer in vb.net and it's interval is 1000ms ,. i have placed in it's timer_tick event a code that will print screen the screen and save it to a database.The problem is when i click outside of the form, or loosing the focus of the mouse to the form containing that timer/printscreen, the timer stops. As a result the printscreen also stops.here are it's properties:
generate member = true
interval = 1000
modifiers = friend

I need to make a button invisible at the start up of a VB form. However, when text is entered into an input textbox the button needs to become visible without a click event procedure. When the button to enter the text from the textbox into an array is clicked the button needs to become invisible again unitl more text is entered into the box, repeating the cycle. I have found related topics but they don't cover this.

I have a vb.net application that uses Flash movies (AxShockwaveFlashObjects.AxShockwaveFlash). I have buttons in the flash movie. When they first start using the application, they can single click on the buttons in the flash movie and button responds accordingly. But after a while (and I haven't been able to pin-point an exact thing that changes it or my issue would be solved), the user has to double-click on the button in the flash movie for them to work.

How can I make a program so you click a button and select a File using a OpenFileDialog and click send on your computer and it will send the file to a different computer and then a SaveFileDialog will show asking where to save the file on the other computer. Oh ya I cant use WinSock or whatever becuase im using Windows Vista 64 Bit. I need it because I for some reason cant use printer sharing. It might be because im on A 64bit Vista Machine and I want to print a file off of a 32bit XP Home Machine.

I want to create a server control that inherits System.Web.UI.WebControls.Button but gives it special capability, now what do i mean? i want my button to be a confiorm button that will work like so:
Renders to the page as a button of lets say cancel after the user clicks it i want to catch the click event (within the server control) and now after the click makeing the button not visible and makeing some kind of content placeholder (that will render from the server control) visible. that content place holder will have 2 buttons inside of it: yes and cancel. I want the programmer that adds this control to be able to register a function to the click event of the yes button. and the second cancel confirmation button should make the first button appear agian. (i know how to do this all in the client side but this time i need it all as server events)
My question is this: how do i catch the click event? i want it all to be handled inside the server control itself. so a programmer that adds this control wont have to worry about anything but just needs to register to the click event of the "yes" button.

- Load MS Access Database (Done)
- Load an MS Access form (Done)
- Take dates from Main.VB and populate 2 fields in MS Access form (done)
- Load another MS Access form called Stage_2 (Done)
- Load a file name into a filed in the Stage_2 form (Done)
- Do a click event in MS Access linked to a button called Pre_Stage_copy on Stage_2 form (How do I do these?)

I have a basic window that has 20 buttons (One, Two,.....,Twenty).Currently if you click on a button its background color changes, and changes back on next click.I'm looking for a way to make it so when the mouse button is held down I can drag across the screen and it will change every button I hit.Disregard the "Shut Down", "Restart", "LogOff", "Clear", and "Invert" buttons. This idea doesn't apply to them.

We are having problems with the speed in parts of our application, Standard .NET 4 Windows forms application. We have a ListView containing some commerce items and the user can click on items to put them in a shopping cart. The problem is that when clicking 10 times fast on one item, only 4-6 items is added to the shopping cart.I get the same result when building a simple test application with only one ListView, with one item and a debug.print in the click handler.I have tried to add a Button in the same testapplication and this is fast..[code]

i just started playing with the menu toolbars in the toolbox. neat stuff. this thread is mostly for a contextmenustrip, since i'm trying to do a virtual right click on a regular click so the context menu shows..

I have a button on my form where I'm showing a ContextMenu when the user left clicks on it, I'm actually using MouseUp right now to show it.What I would like to have happen is the user click on the button, the button stays pressed while the ContextMenu shows, it returns to normal when the ContextMenu closes (Either a menu item was selected, the user hits the escape key or they click/tab to somewhere else). Also I'd like to position the ContextMenu in the lower left corner if the menu opens down or the top left corner if it opens up. So the left edge of the ContextMenu is flush with the left edge of the button.Moreso the button staying pressed until the ContextMenu is closed.
Edit: I'm also ok with this being it's own control inheriting the FW's Button that used the assigned ContextMenu as well.

I am Sorry but I Can not get my head around Saving data in a Form to my records (DataBase) When I Click Button1. I know how to clear the controlls when i click Button1. I believe there wont be any diff if user clicks the button on the form and the click event is fired OR if we call the button click event / function in the code. Because in one my project, this does make diff. If I click the button on the form, the App works great but same button if I click it thru the form code, the whole process crashes. This happens in Vista / VB.net.

I have created a custom control that has a few labels and a button on it. In my main program i dyanmically add this control to a stackpanel. When i add the control i add a few events for it by doing th e following:
