InputBox Function - Program - Allow User To Input 5 Payrolls For Store 1, Store 2, And Store 3
Mar 22, 2012I am coding a program that will allow the user to input 5 payrolls for Store 1, Store 2, and Store 3. The total of the 5 payrolls are then added together and shown in the respective Store's labels. A total label is also there to add up all the totals into one number. The numbers in the label must be in currency form. My problem is the numbers don't add correctly when I hit calculate. The first two numbers add together, but then after that the number just seems to subtract a random amount.

How To Store Strings Into Database
Oct 6, 2010For my website I've just implemented tinyMCE for my site (just a word processor). Everything works fine except when i try to store the string variable input into a sql server database. I want to store a string and not have the html tags make me exceed the 8000 length limit(the html tags take up most of that space). My question is, is there a solution so I can store my document with the html tags without shortening my document? Create an if statement that will determine the length If > 8000 than split the string apart and insert into separate fields. Maybe their is a compression feature which I'm unaware of?

Store Connection Strings Per User?
May 21, 2010In the past I've used a Singleton Pattern to load the connection string when the application starts via the global.asa file.
I have a project now where each user has a unique connection string to the database. I would like to load this connection string once. The issue is that the singleton pattern will not work for me since each user has there own connection string. Basically the connection string is created dynamically.
I do not want to store it is session. If anyway has a clever way of doing this in .NET let me know ?

I am trying to make the program close if the -1 string is sent with the program. See my installer allows for me to run certain programs before it actually installs, but it doesn't shut down copies of the program itself. So I have a next startup instance set to shut the program down if the -1 is received. But if the program is not running it starts up instead. This is not desired. form1.close doesn't work. e.cancel = true doesn't work, etc etc. What can I do to make the program not start during this instance.

Jan 2, 2012I have a Data Repeater in a Windows Form, within the data repeater I have a label and either a radio button or combo box, the amount of radio buttons and the text for them is brought in from my database as is the label and combo box.
The label is a question and the radio buttons or combo box allows the user to answer the question.
What I want to do is get the checked status of the radio buttons so I can then reveal the next question if it is needed. e.g. only show question 2 if question 1 is answered No.

2. User clicks go next to textbox with data entered, then button and a copy of form refered to as browse is created.
3. Form refered to as browse is directed to the url refered to on the form refered to as monitor, in the associated textbox(passed as a parameter to copyForm)
4. A timer is used to refresh the webpage every 10 seconds
What I wanted to happen was the program turn the associated picturebox in form1 green if page is loaded, and black is loading.

May 26, 2009I have a program in vb express 2008 which I would like to publish in a little more professional manner than provided in the standard vb express package. I would at least like to include a "Terms of Use" document the user must agree to before installing the program. I have dovnloaded and installed web developer, c# and vs 2008. Do any of these include a professional installer? If not are there any free installer packages available? I am 72 and live on a limited budget so I cannot aford an expensive package for one program.
