.net - Properly Databind TinyMCE Or FCKEditor In Order To Store In SQL Database?

Jul 23, 2009

I have searched high and low and can only find some very bad documentation on how to properly save the data from a rich text editor to a SQL Server database. I am not working with personal profiles, I just want to understand how it is properly done, including how to properly escape said data.

Can't Order The Data Properly

Sep 15, 2010

I have a VB.Net 2008/Access 2007 app that I cant get to display data in an organized way on a listview. The listview displays the data in the order that the data was entered in the products table. In the SQL statement that loads the listview I put ORDER BY SupplierTbl.CompanyName but it doesn't do it. The listview shows the data in the order that the records were entered in the database. So then I was going to settle for if I can get the listview sorted by clicking on the column header.If I can get that to work then that would be acceptable. So I then implemented the sort routine. The sort works and it doesn't.If you click on a column header then all the rows show the information nicely. The database has an OLE object column for storing images. Customer wants images stored in the database not file paths. When you click the listview the image displays in a picturebox.

The proper images display when the listview is clicked when I use the SQL statement below without the ORDER BY. But when I click on a column header and reorder the display it's no good. If you click on a row in the listview the wrong image is being displayed. It displays them in the order as they were in before the sort. All the other columns look good and are behaving except for the Image column. So that then makes me wonder if my original problem with the ORDER BY is directly related with the OLE object column. Is there something about this data type that I need to know to manipulate it in SQL? My reaction is that maybe since this column is resource heavy it goes by different rules. Can someone please tell me what I need to do to make the end result have some order? This is the SQL statement without the ORDER BY:

command.CommandText = "SELECT ProductTbl.ProductID, ProductTbl.PartNumber, " & _
" ProductTbl.AltPartNumber, ProductTbl.Description, ProductTbl.SupplierID, " & _
" SupplierTbl.SupplierID, SupplierTbl.CompanyName, ProductTbl.Category, " & _

Forms :: Databind The Picture Box To A Database So The Images?

Jun 30, 2009

I've looked in a few places but haven't had much luck in finding what I'm after.So I have a picturebox on my windows form and it has an image set to it, I also have a bunch of reference files that reference to a bunch of images.

Me.PictureBox1.Image = My.Resources.imgs.image1
That piece of code works.

Now, I tried to databind the picture box to a database so the images would load on the change of a combo box but that got confusing really fast so what I did was created a database and it holds all the image references such as "My.Resources.imgs.image1" but its stored as type varchar(50).

Connecting to the database and retreiving the strings is no problem, that works all fine.The problem is converting the string to the image reference, it doesn't work. I've tried type casting, I tried using imagelocation rather than image but I want to reference to the resources that is attached to the project.

Query Database With Each Object In Arraylist And Databind To Gridview?

Apr 21, 2011

I have a function that returns a list of account numbers as an Arraylist. I am trying to use each account as a command parameter in another sub routine to get more data about each account number. This only returns the data for the last account number in the arraylist. I need to use each account number, call the database, get the additional information and store ALL of the data into a Gridview (databind). Example: If I had 3 account numbers in my arraylist return 3 rows of data to the gridview. I am struggling with how to get ALL of the information for each value (account number) in the Arraylist. Can someone point me in the right direction?? I think this can be done but I am not certain if my approach is correct or not. Perhaps I need to create datatables that contain the additional information for each value passed via the arraylist.

Dim dsn As String = Configurati

Javascript - TinyMCE Textarea Change Not Recognized By CodeBehind?

Nov 23, 2010

I have several <asp:TextBox TextMode="MultiLine"> elements on a page. On load, I populate them (through the VB code behind), and then turn them into TinyMCE editors (through the Query TinyMCE plugin). Each text box also has a button associated with it, with the purpose of submitting the text back to the code behind for insertion into a database.I discovered earlier that when the submit button is clicked, I have to "save" the contents of the editor to the text box, but that is not my problem. Even after I've done so, the edits are not showing up in the code behind.As I've mentioned, I'm using jQuery. Here is my click handler. Keep in mind that all buttons are submit buttons in ASP.NET, hence the submit class:

$('input.submit').live('click', function() {
tinyMCE.EditorManager.triggerSave();
});

InputBox Function - Program - Allow User To Input 5 Payrolls For Store 1, Store 2, And Store 3

I am coding a program that will allow the user to input 5 payrolls for Store 1, Store 2, and Store 3. The total of the 5 payrolls are then added together and shown in the respective Store's labels. A total label is also there to add up all the totals into one number. The numbers in the label must be in currency form. My problem is the numbers don't add correctly when I hit calculate. Database - Does This Function Release Resources Properly

Sep 23, 2010

I'm trying to make sure that I don't leave any loose ends open in my application and am concerned about a few but might get my answer from this one. I've "overriden" some functions so that way I can try and keep all the resources as clean and free as possible. So in this instance, I have a function called ExecuteReader which returns a DbDataReader as normal, but all I had to pass to it was a SQL string rather than recreating a DbCommand every time. I want to make sure that even though I'm unable to call dbCommand.Dispose() that it is actually doing so.
[code...]

In here, I set the _dbReader to what I'd get from the function and eventually I close the _dbReader. I do not close the connection as I don't open it each time I make a query. This is a SQLite database that only one user will be using at a time (small application with very very very little likeliness it will grow) so I didn't think it necessary to close and open the connection all the time. Maybe I'm wrong, not sure. Using it this way though, it is potentially ok for cleaning resources?

Data In MS Access Database Our Of Order With VB 2010 Interface

Jun 20, 2012

VB 2010 Express + MS Access 2003

today I successfully configured an interface to work with a test database I created in MS Access 2003. The database consists of only 8 records with 10 fields.

I used the basic built-ins with VB 2010 to build the interface in a simple form which shows only 6 of the 10 fields. It all seems to work well, that is the connection string built correctly, and I can run the program and view the individual records. My trouble is that when it goes to the 1st record it's actually the 3rd record in the database. And when I go to the last record it's actually the 2nd record in the database and the next to the last record is actually the first record in the database.

why the program seems to start at the 3 record and shifts the first two records to the end. All the records show up, it's just that they are somewhat out of order.
