View 2 RepliesI use such code for html strip
strOutput = Regex.Replace(InpData, "<[^>]*>", "")
But i need to get rid of things like (all are in 1 string)
.thead a:link, .thead_alink
(starts with dot ends with newline?)
[CODE]..................
I would like to use same method as above Ragex code but i have no idea how to work with it.
I have a string variable that contains the following html data:
<p>
<em><strong>This is some <span style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 0);">rich </span>text. 3 < 5 is a valid statement. <br />
[code].....
Is there a more efficient way of doing this than adding &""""& for every double quotation mark in the html code when building the string? I need to store the HTML code as a string. I am finding "[tablerow]" within an existing document with StreamReader and want to replace it with my string value (html code) when writing it back using stringwriter.
View 5 RepliesI'm importing data from 1 database to another. I've been requested to strip all HTML content, as its messy and not valid, and just keep the links. I currently use the following VB.NET function to strip all HTML tags from a string of content:
Public Shared Function StripHTML(ByVal htmlString As String) As String
Dim pattern As String = "<(.|
)*?>"
Return Regex.Replace(htmlString, pattern, String.Empty)
End Function
I'm looking for a way of stripping all, but a (anchor) tags from the content. For example if I have the following HTML content:
<table><tr><td>
Lorem <a href="[URL]">Ipsum</a>
</td></tr></table>
This will simply become:
Lorem <a href="[URL]">Ipsum</a>
How can I do this?
This may sound really stupid but I have to ask cause I'm not finding this answer anywhere.I have an application where the user will need to sign up for a new user account on the website [URL]..However when I am using Firefox's plug-in Firebug to view html I am getting something totally different than when I just right click on the site and view the page source.
What I am trying to do is to get the captcha from the website and display it in a picturebox on the application so the user can view the captcha, solve the captcha and then the app post is back to the service for a response.
Here is the source that I am getting using Firefox's Firebug to inspect the element:
<td>
<input type="hidden" value="Oo3Jo1I8bgzK68agMqo3s79ZZib2OkbK" name="iden">
<img class="capimage" src="/captcha/Oo3Jo1I8bgzK68agMqo3s79ZZib2OkbK.png" alt="i wonder if these things even work">
</td>
[Code]...
Why would the two be showing me two different versions of the HTML?
And how would you be able to grab that source to view in a picturebox using webclient?
The projects program is designed to open files output by another program, allow the user to edit the files content, then send the file to a specific bookmark within a word template. Unfortunately most of the output files by the 'other program' are html format.Question Is there a way to strip out HTML from the file when it has opened in my text area within the program? I found one or two online guides but haven't managed to get them working.

I am trying save a value from an input tag in some HTML source code. The tag looks like so:
<input name="user_status" value="3" />
I have the page source in a variable (pageSourceCode), and need to work out some regex to get the value (3 in this example). I have this so far: [Code] Which works fine most of the time, however this code is used to process source code from multiple sites (that use the same platform), and sometimes there are other attributes included in the input tag, or they are in a different order, eg:
<input class="someclass" type="hidden" value="3" name="user_status" />
I just dont understand regex enough to cope with these situations.
Dim phoneNumber As String = "077 47578 587(num)"How do i strip the above string off every character which isnt a number. So only the numbers are left and then check to make sure it is 11 characters long?
View 4 RepliesI know Val() is a VB6 function, but one thing I like about it is that you can wrap a string in it and it will "extract" the numerical value from the string if there are other things present (i.e. Val("123 Main St.") returns 123). This is the way my teacher taught us to use it. I know about the .TryParse and .Parse methods of the different data types, and how those can be used to check for a numerical value, but is there a replacement that can strip any non-numeric value from a string to put it in an integer (or double, single, decimal, etc.)?

View 2 Replies"Form1" has a ToolStripContainer1.TopToolStripPanel which contains a ToolStrip with buttons. The buttons work on ONE click when "Form1" is active.If I click on another window and then return to "Form1" the ToolStrip buttons take TWO clicks to activate.The first click returns focus to "Form1" and the subsequent click fires the button event.I want the buttons to work on the first click and not require two clicks.Note that ordinary buttons on "Form1" that are not part of the ToolStrip work on the first click when returning from another window/form?
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to match on some inconsistently formatted HTML and need to strip out some double quotes.
Current:
<input type="hidden">
The Goal:
<input type=hidden>
This is wrong because I'm not escaping it properly:
s = s.Replace(""","");
This is wrong because there is not blank character character (to my knowledge):
s = s.Replace('"', '');
What is syntax / escape character combination for replacing double quotes with an empty string?
The title says it all. How do I strip all punctuation from a string in vb.net? I really do not want to do stringname.Replace("$", "") for every single bit of punctuation, though it would work. How do i do this quickly and efficiently? Other than coding something that codes
View 3 RepliesI am trying to strip the first 75 characters from various strings (sentences / phrases) and it seems right but I need to ensure that the now words are truncated in the process. Meaning that if the 75 character is part of a word it needs to fall back to the beginning of the word or nearest space..
I thought of stripping the entire string into separate words and then counting the length of combining the words and stopping when I reach the target but what do I do in the case when it is not a valid sentence just a bunch of characters jammed together. I thought of using grammar parsing tool libraries and parsing into tokens etc but that seems to over complicated.
if text.length() > 75 then
ctext = text.remove(text.length, 75) & "..."
endif
I put elipses at the end but using the above I also get the error:
does anyone have any better suggestions.
I need to strip every other char from an array or string. Whichever is easier.
