Hence, the Drawmode property of the control is set to 'OwnerDrawFixed'. Now I want to insert a icon(likely favicon) to the left side of the tab page. I have to do a questionaire that gives three questions with multiple choice answers. When the user clicks a radio button it displays a tick or cross depending whether the answer is correct or incorrect. I also want to display, on a label, the number of correct answers with the number of attempts. i.e 1 out of 3. I have listed the code I have for the questions and radio buttons and I know I have to declare form variables but I do not know how to get it to recognise the radio button as a number to add to the total.

Using Visual Studio 2005 (vb.net) (windows forms) on Windows XP, I have a standard Microsoft TabControl.A button click adds/removes an image from 1 of the Tabs.Seems like the image is placed OVER my tab's text, making it unreadable.Why isn't it like it should be: Image on the left. Followed by text on the right.Why is the image being placed OVER my tab's text? Do I need to do some kind of "refresh" or "redraw" before it will appear as it should? I don't see any way to "make the image appear on the left edge of the tab". (NOT the tab-page.) ... and then place the text just to the right of the image. View 1 RepliesIs it possible to assign the MouseDown event handler or equivalent to an image (from ImageList) of a tabcontrol without using OwnerDraw? I can add images to tabs through ImageList. And I can draw something that looks like a close button on each tab, using OwnerDraw. But I notice that the tab sizes will be fixed regardless of the tab labels. I want the tab sizes to be flexible with the labels. For now, the second best alternative to assign events to tabs seems to be use of contextual menus. But it's true that some people just don't want to right-button-click on tabs.And I have seen a project where somebody uses a 32-bit library declare. And I can't use it because I only develop 64-bit apps.

I guess you can change the colours with: TabControl1.SelectedTab.BackColor = Color.Black
But not sure how to hook up the mouseover to the hovered over tab title/button.

I am currently working on an OOP assignment based on vehicles as classes. The classes, attributes and object lists have been completed so far. In my main menu form, I have a tabControl from which each page displays is related to each class. Within each page, labels are included displaying attributes of the first related object in the list. There are also two buttons in each page for scrolling between each listed object from the same class. I want these forward/back buttons to be able to retrieve attributes from the next object in the object list and have them displayed in their relevant labels.
View 3 RepliesI have one form with one tabControl with two tabs, in each one I have one dgv, in the visible change event I create and add a new button column, that will be placed at the end. Now the "problem", if the first tab it's selected when the form becomes visible, the column it's placed in the correct position (last), and in the second tab the column it's placed in the third position.
If I do this with the second tab selected when the form become visible, the column it's placed correctly in this one, and in the third position in the first one... The code that I use, it's very simple, every datagrid it's bounded to a datatable, I tried the add method, then I tried the insert method, then I manually set the display index for each column, and none of this options solved my problem...
I tried to update the button text on a form from a backgroundworker.do_work event, and it failed, with the usual cross-thread exception message.However, by pure chance, I also tried to update text in a system.windows.form.toolstripstatuslabel also from this backgroundworker.do_work event, and it DOES work. Question: why is this? Is it perhaps because theres some kind of implicit shared behaviour with system.windows.form.toolstripstatuslabel?

View 2 RepliesI dynamically create buttons on a form and use the button text as ids so that I can pass that to an SQL query to pull saved data about that button when necessary, but I also use an image over buttons that have information saved about them. What I need to know is how do I keep the text on the button from appearing when there is an image assigned to that button? By default vb.net shows both the text and the image and no TextImageRelation values allow for the image to take precedence. I tried changing the text color to transparent, but the outline of the text is still visible through the image. Is there anyway to keep the text value as it is but just show the image on the button?

I've been looking into creating custom controls, and I can't seem to find a good tutorial on how to do so. Everything I've looked at is extremely complex and I simply don't know where/how to start.
To start out with, all I want to do is change the image of the button (normal, hover, and clicked). No extra methods/events/properties/etc. I've made individual images for each situation with Photoshop.
