View 1 RepliesI am using VB.NET's TextFieldParser (Microsoft.VisualBasic.FileIO.TextFieldParser) to read a delimited file. However, when I try to read in a field with consecutive newlines within the field, the consecutive newlines are turned into a single new line. I would like the consecutive newlines to be preserved, but am unsure how.Here's an example file that I am reading in with exactly one field. The quotes are part of the file's content and there are three newlines (including the two consecutive newlines following line 2):
"This is line 1
This is line 2
This is line 4, which follows two consecutive newlines."Here is the code that I am using to parse and read in the file:

View 2 RepliesI was using System.Windows.Forms.TabControl to list custom pages, but there seems be a Hardcoded Padding of 3 pixels on all sides of Tabcontrol. How I can remove that. One point here is I dont want to remove Tabs on Top http:[url].....I found above MSDN link whick does removes margins from all sides including TabItems on top which I dont want.

View 1 RepliesI'm by far a VB expert, but I've used tabcontrols before without having with happen. VB 2010.I have a tab control element on a form, and on the tabcontrol, tabpage1, I have 21 databound controls that are being pulled from an Access database. Each control has it's own table adapter that is being filled from the same dataset. I also have a save button and a cancel button outside tha tabcontrol on the form itself.
When I debug the app, the forms load correctly and I can see my databound elements containing data. I can click on a single control on the tabcontrol page. Whatever control I click first, such as the gender combobox, becomes the only control I can click on. I can change tab OK, and I can click on the buttons off the tab control (although there is no underlying code for those buttons yet). However I can't click a second control on the form, and I can't close the form without closing the parent form. There is no other code on the trouble form other than the tableadapter fills.
how to add a click event to the tabpages of a tabcontrol? I tried double clicking it but nothing happened. I tried putting a button on the tabpage but that did not work either.
View 3 Repliesi have a form with a tab control and two tabs and a label below the tabcontrol.. in tab one i'm editing files and such and the label below the tabcontrol shows the directory of the file i am working on.. what i would like, is to have that label not be visible when i click on tabpage 2..

I guess you can change the colours with: TabControl1.SelectedTab.BackColor = Color.Black
But not sure how to hook up the mouseover to the hovered over tab title/button.
Using 2 forms how would I click one button, from another form? ie In VB 4,5,6, I would used to do it as:-

Ok what I am working is creating a tabpage at run time, I ahve a class that inherits tabpage class and when I call, it creates a new tabpage and add it to the tabControl, My codes are as:

How to make a new created tab to be selected and top? I have tried .show(), .Select() and .Focus() but nothing happens. What I mean is when you click on add new Tab, like in Browser a new tab is created and is selected for use(become top)

I am currently working on an OOP assignment based on vehicles as classes. The classes, attributes and object lists have been completed so far. In my main menu form, I have a tabControl from which each page displays is related to each class. Within each page, labels are included displaying attributes of the first related object in the list. There are also two buttons in each page for scrolling between each listed object from the same class. I want these forward/back buttons to be able to retrieve attributes from the next object in the object list and have them displayed in their relevant labels.
View 3 RepliesI have one form with one tabControl with two tabs, in each one I have one dgv, in the visible change event I create and add a new button column, that will be placed at the end. Now the "problem", if the first tab it's selected when the form becomes visible, the column it's placed in the correct position (last), and in the second tab the column it's placed in the third position.
If I do this with the second tab selected when the form become visible, the column it's placed correctly in this one, and in the third position in the first one... The code that I use, it's very simple, every datagrid it's bounded to a datatable, I tried the add method, then I tried the insert method, then I manually set the display index for each column, and none of this options solved my problem...

View 2 RepliesI have a vb.net application that uses Flash movies (AxShockwaveFlashObjects.AxShockwaveFlash). I have buttons in the flash movie. When they first start using the application, they can single click on the buttons in the flash movie and button responds accordingly. But after a while (and I haven't been able to pin-point an exact thing that changes it or my issue would be solved), the user has to double-click on the button in the flash movie for them to work.

View 6 RepliesI want to create a server control that inherits System.Web.UI.WebControls.Button but gives it special capability, now what do i mean? i want my button to be a confiorm button that will work like so:
Renders to the page as a button of lets say cancel after the user clicks it i want to catch the click event (within the server control) and now after the click makeing the button not visible and makeing some kind of content placeholder (that will render from the server control) visible. that content place holder will have 2 buttons inside of it: yes and cancel. I want the programmer that adds this control to be able to register a function to the click event of the yes button. and the second cancel confirmation button should make the first button appear agian. (i know how to do this all in the client side but this time i need it all as server events)
My question is this: how do i catch the click event? i want it all to be handled inside the server control itself. so a programmer that adds this control wont have to worry about anything but just needs to register to the click event of the "yes" button.
I am writing an Automation program to control an MS Acces applcation. Here is the sequence of events:
- Load MS Access Database (Done)
- Load an MS Access form (Done)
- Take dates from Main.VB and populate 2 fields in MS Access form (done)
- Load another MS Access form called Stage_2 (Done)
- Load a file name into a filed in the Stage_2 form (Done)
- Do a click event in MS Access linked to a button called Pre_Stage_copy on Stage_2 form (How do I do these?)
- Do a click event in MS Access linked to a button called Pre_Stage_import on Stage_2 form (How do I do these?)
