Control Stops In AddHandler Subroutine
Nov 22, 2010My requirement is getting output from command window asynchonously in vb.net form, I am doing this with system diagnostic process and using addhandler. My problem is, I have separate class to execute process, after process start when control goes to a addhandler sub routine, it stops there only after it's execution(in addhandler subroutine), and never comes back where I am capturing output. Control should come to the line in below code - addInput = outputExe.ToString() so that I can captureoutput and go back to vb.net code behind.

I have 100s of Input Controls on my form (TextBox, ComboBox), now what i want is When the control receives Focus I want it's Back Color set to some color say 'Lemon Yellow' to highlight the control & when it leaves focus set it to it's original.

Jul 29, 2010If you do a search for "ie8 back button disabled" you'll see a number of blogs with people having difficulties with the Internet Explorer version 8 back button becoming disabled. This now happened to one of my ASP .Net pages. The page uses a user control, aspx page, and a master page. It uses no redirects and seems to be happening when I click the back button and then the forward button (after the forward button is clicked, it does not fire the Load event and the back button becomes disabled).

At the part that is actually is suppose to show the msgbox it goes back to the previous subroutine at the else statement and runs again but this time it displays. I have never seen this before.

Feb 8, 2012I am using VS studio 2010 to build a asp.net (framework 4.0) website. My code behind is in VB.Net, My testing browser is Firefox (latest version), also tested on IE8 and Google Chrome, same behavior.Basically I have a LinkButton in a DataRepeater in a UpdatePanel.The _ItemCommand event DOES FIRE for as long as I use the page regularly (every few minutes or so).
The problem is this: When I open another webpage (in another browser tab) and sit on it for like 1 hour or so and then come back to test page in the browser tab and click on the LinkButton, no event is fired and the page gets a reload. Like if the button had just died on me.I first tough it might be a Session TimeOut issue but I logged the SessionID in a text file and the Session DOES NOT expire. <<<< Using new method for detecting TimeOut
I can confirm (logfiles) that the root of my problem is that the _ItemCommand event simply stops firing. I just have no idea why it does.I have tried most solutions proposed under similar problems (event not firing) but my problem is positively different because my event DOES fire... Only for a limited time.
My Repeater ViewState is enabled.I have tried changing the LinkButton for a Button but no joy same problem.I have tried the uping the AsyncPostBackTimeout of the ScryptManager... no joy either.I have tried sessionState mode="StateServer".I have tried disabling my AVG Link Scanner.Here is the code I'm now using to check for Session Timeout:

Serial Port Event Does Not Return To The Interrupted Subroutine?
Sep 30, 2010I am running a Windows Form application, in a button called subroutine is controlling a series of events in a with a timer with 500ms ticks. There is an IO port that will send information asynchronously about another set of events that need servicing from an external device. I want to deal with the event from the IO port and return to the original subroutine, but it appears the once I complete the delegate subroutine called by the IO event, the program does not return to the subroutine that was running. Do I need to resort to polling or is there another solution through threading?

Jul 31, 2010I've read thru Iceplug's tutorial on control arrays and got it working. I tried to add a new event by basically copying his click event code and calling it a doubleclick event. I used the proper addhandler and assigned the correct name to my sub. I have the click event changing the background color to blue and the doubleclick event changing the background color to green. The background color does not change to green. Why?

Mar 4, 2012I have 4 items in a ListBox and each item does a specific thing when it gets clicked on.But I also want the double click event to do the same thing as the click event.I can copy and paste all code from click event into double click event, but then you have lots of code crowding the code page doing the same thing. So what to do about this?

When they first start using the application, they can single click on the buttons in the flash movie and button responds accordingly. But after a while (and I haven't been able to pin-point an exact thing that changes it or my issue would be solved), the user has to double-click on the button in the flash movie for them to work.

Dec 1, 2010I want to create a server control that inherits System.Web.UI.WebControls.Button but gives it special capability, now what do i mean? i want my button to be a confiorm button that will work like so:
Renders to the page as a button of lets say cancel after the user clicks it i want to catch the click event (within the server control) and now after the click makeing the button not visible and makeing some kind of content placeholder (that will render from the server control) visible. that content place holder will have 2 buttons inside of it: yes and cancel. I want the programmer that adds this control to be able to register a function to the click event of the yes button. and the second cancel confirmation button should make the first button appear agian. (i know how to do this all in the client side but this time i need it all as server events)
My question is this: how do i catch the click event? i want it all to be handled inside the server control itself. so a programmer that adds this control wont have to worry about anything but just needs to register to the click event of the "yes" button.

I have one checking in a textbox Leave event. I will go check whether this ID is already exist in DB or not. If exist, I will prompt MSG box to user.
When I click on Close button while focus is on textbox, this textbox Leave Event will trigger first before Button Click event.
