I have a problem. When I play a wav file using winmm, as soon as I click on a different command button on the form, the audio playback stops. How do I make sure the wav files are allowed to play in their entirety even when focus is moved to another control?
View 13 RepliesI have done an extensive search before posting this question, using many different search parameters without success at finding an answer.Using Visual Studio 2008 Express VB:My program requires a notification when a wav file has finished playing, a media player song list will not suit my needs.I have used System.Media.SoundPlayer, Microsoft.DirectX.DirectSound and My.Computer.Audio.Play to play a wav file. All work well at playing and stopping the requested wav. So far, I have not found a methode to capture an event when the wav has ended. DirectSound stops playing when the form has lost focus, so I dont think that I can use it. Audio.Play AudioPlayMode.WaitToComplete only holds up other operations and I dont want to create multiple threads.

One the click of a button the stopwatch starts, then on the click of a second button the stopwatch stops then states either in a msgbox the time taken between the two button clicks.

I am writing an Automation program to control an MS Acces applcation. Here is the sequence of events:
- Load MS Access Database (Done)
- Load an MS Access form (Done)
- Take dates from Main.VB and populate 2 fields in MS Access form (done)
- Load another MS Access form called Stage_2 (Done)
- Load a file name into a filed in the Stage_2 form (Done)
- Do a click event in MS Access linked to a button called Pre_Stage_copy on Stage_2 form (How do I do these?)
- Do a click event in MS Access linked to a button called Pre_Stage_import on Stage_2 form (How do I do these?)
So I have a wav playing using DirectX in VB6. If i switch to another window, it stops playing. If I click back on the VB6 window it resumes play. How do I make it continue playing when I change windows? Another problem I cannot load wav files larger than 50 megabyte. It says Out Of Memory. How can I increase that?

Basically, I need to be able to intercept a mouse click on a button in another application so that instead of submitting the data it triggers my validation code then cancel the action if need be.
We do not have the code to the other application. I have everything I need perform the validation. The only thing I don't know how to do is intercept the mouse click on the button control of the other application. Can some one show me how this is done?

I am trying to write a program using Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition that will automaticlay generate multiple Command Buttons that have different Texts and perform different commands.For example I want to generate Button_1 and Button_2 where Button_1 when clicked enters the value "1" into a textbox and Button_2 enters the value "2" into the same textbox.I know this can be simple done by using the designer and wirting the code in the Button_1_Click, but what I want to eventually achieve is for various buttons to be generated across different Tabs in a TabControl.So far I can create a button on a windows form using code, but the button has no purpose so command is assigned to it. How can I make a program so you click a button and select a File using a OpenFileDialog and click send on your computer and it will send the file to a different computer and then a SaveFileDialog will show asking where to save the file on the other computer. Oh ya I cant use WinSock or whatever becuase im using Windows Vista 64 Bit. I need it because I for some reason cant use printer sharing. It might be because im on A 64bit Vista Machine and I want to print a file off of a 32bit XP Home Machine.

The app works fine in every detail when installed on the development computer. But, on the target computer when the command button is clicked an unhandled exception occurs which says: System.IO. This works fine on the development computer. Do I need a way to code this as a relative path? This now happened to one of my ASP .Net pages. The page uses a user control, aspx page, and a master page. It uses no redirects and seems to be happening when I click the back button and then the forward button (after the forward button is clicked, it does not fire the Load event and the back button becomes disabled).

It should update every time i click the button, but it runs through perfectly on the first click, after the first click it does nothing.This is a UDP Program, where the client sends a packet with a sequence number and payload which are separate items in the packet. The server receives the packet, reads the sequence number, and then sends back the next sequence number the client should send.The client then receives that from the server with the same payload.. And then should change its sequence number to the one it recieved, and send that to the server..The client works up to where the client updates to the sequence number it receives from the server.. But both show no effect on any clicks after.

View 14 RepliesI'm creating a CD that when inserted into a CD-Rom will AutoRun, which brings up the program starting with a splash screen, then the first window form. All this works, no problem. On the first window form I have a button (one of many) all buttons work (so far) except this one button. (I actually haven't test3d the buttonjs to see if they work on / from a CD yet, but they work in Debug).
I would like to have the user click the button, and have that button be tied to a zip file or an exe file that is in a folder on my CD, that will be downloaded to the user's computer. I would like the usual window to come up asking the user where the user would like to save the file, the user will choose the folder, click the save button and the file downloads from the CD to the hard drive of the user's computer, so the user can open it later. It doesn't have to Run from the CD, it is just to download to be accessed later.
Some files will be a Zip and others are Exe files that I would like to have downloaded to the user's PC by way of a button click. Of course the user's computer will need to be able to know which drive the CD is in.
This is what I've tried and doesn't seem to work...Have not tried it from directly from CD (Haven't tried anything directly from the CD as of yet, but after this problem my next step is try and make a AutoRun CD and test the program).
