Image Stops Moving When A Button Is Added To The Form?
Mar 12, 2011
I'm using the arrow keys to move an animated gif around a form. However when I add a button control to the form the animated gif no longer responds to the arrow keys.
#include "stdafx.h"
using namespace System;
using namespace System::Drawing;
I am trying to create some simple animation using GDI+ graphics. The scene takes place in outer space, I want to run comets across the form. My problem is getting the comets once they leave the form to reappear on the other side. I can do it horizontally, the code for that is below. I can't figure out how to get a comet to leave the bottom of the form and reappear at the top. Anyone have any advice or knowledge on this?
Private Sub CometTimer_Tick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles CometTimer.Tick 'Declare variables.
I've moving image using keyboard, and i want to make this image bound to my form. I mean i don't want to let my image away from the form boundaries. I did it in VB 6 but don't know how to do it in VB.Net
I tryed to make a media player and i added a button to the form called "Full Srceen".[code]'so i get an error message : Catastrophic failure (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8000FFFF (E_UNEXPECTED))
I created 3 Forms (Form1, Form2 and Form3) and I added a button on every form. This is code for Button1 on Form1:
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Form2.BackColor = Color.Red Form3.BackColor = Color.Red Me.Hide() Form2.Show() End Sub
Code for Button1 on Form2:
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Me.Close() Form3.Show() End Sub
Code for Button1 on Form3:
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Me.Close() Form2.Show() End Sub
Now, the problem is that when I click on Button1 on Form3 it shows Form2 but the Form2 BackColor is not red, it is default color, A.K.A Control Color. But I specified in Button1 on Form1 that Form2.BackColor is Red. And also if I click on Button1 on Form2 when Form3 shows it, the Form3 BackColor is also default, it is not red.
I know one way to solve it but it is so not-professional. It is that you add on Button1 on Form2 this:
Form3.BackColor = Color.Red
and on Button1 on Form3 this:
Form2.BackColor = Color.Red
It is ok in this situation but what if I have more stuff, for example if I have an option for changing theme so it has to change all labels and buttons ForeColor, what then, is there any other way?
I have a form with a text box and a form with a list box. I would like to be able to push a button on the form with the text box and have it be added to a list box.
I'm uploading an image to url... etc. The trouble is my application stops responding for 5-10 seconds while the image is uploading. I want to use multi-threading to stop it doing that but I'm confused with the whole way to use controls with backgroundworker. [code] I guess its the textbox which is causing the problem.
If you do a search for "ie8 back button disabled" you'll see a number of blogs with people having difficulties with the Internet Explorer version 8 back button becoming disabled. This now happened to one of my ASP .Net pages. The page uses a user control, aspx page, and a master page. It uses no redirects and seems to be happening when I click the back button and then the forward button (after the forward button is clicked, it does not fire the Load event and the back button becomes disabled).
I am having issues with my program. It should update every time i click the button, but it runs through perfectly on the first click, after the first click it does nothing.This is a UDP Program, where the client sends a packet with a sequence number and payload which are separate items in the packet. The server receives the packet, reads the sequence number, and then sends back the next sequence number the client should send.The client then receives that from the server with the same payload.. And then should change its sequence number to the one it recieved, and send that to the server..The client works up to where the client updates to the sequence number it receives from the server.. But both show no effect on any clicks after.
Heres my Client Option Strict Off Option Strict Off Imports System.Net.Sockets
I have a problem. When I play a wav file using winmm, as soon as I click on a different command button on the form, the audio playback stops. How do I make sure the wav files are allowed to play in their entirety even when focus is moved to another control?
I am trying to assign a button to let a resource ( JPEG image ) become the background of my form. But instead, the background becomes blank. Here is what I wrote:
Public Class Choose_Background Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Me.BackgroundImage = My_Project.My.Resources.african_lion
I have a windows Forms app that displays data as it scans.Once you alt-tab or remove "focus" from the app and doing something else (open word) it stops updating. In otherwords it looks like the app has locked up.But it will finish the scanning as normal.But any updates from the scans being shown on the app window are not shown, that is until the app is finished and catches up.
Form A accepts user input, closes and calls Form B when user wants to see results. Form B starts calculations automatically. Meanwhile, it partially displays and can disappear completely leaving an empty window. The calculations can take some time. It seems as if a form needs code to stop running and be awaiting user input before it finishes drawing itself. Is there a way to circumvent this? Aside from the aesthetics, I would like user to see progress reports posted to status bar and without needing to press another button (so removing automatic start). Form B has only a return button for input.
I have tried various places for Me.Show and addressing the form's controls from the modules it uses.
I have a picture box that i want the user to be able to move at runtime of course....he will click on the picture and while clicking the mouse down he can move the picture and when he release the mouse the picture stays at the location ....i searched the net and did not find any usefull articles ..
I am trying to create a custom control using vb.net.I have added a image to the user control and the problem I am having is that when I resize the image, the image seems to move as well.I want to be able to resize the user control height without moving the image on the user control.
everytime I resize the user control, it seems to move the image on it as well.Is there a way of leaving the image where it is without moving it as the user control moves?
I create a program that loop the images in the picturebox, now the concern is while the images is looping or changing the usage of the memory of the usage of the computer is going bigger.i mean it's added the new usage memory when picture is changing. i wanted to dispose the previous usage so that maintain the usage level, but i don't know how
I'm making an rpg game but the map images i'm making are very large and I wanted to know if its possible to make the picturebox zoom on one particular region of the image and make the image move within the picturebox...
I have an add-in application running in Outlook that pops up a form to tell the user something is being processed.The add-in is written in vb. net.The information form has an animated gif on it which should animate as the rest of the program is processing however it stops animating.The code is as follows:[code]
I have some jpeg images that are added to my application. The Copy To Output Directory property is set to Copy Always. Running from Visual Studio the images are accessed and if I install the application to a drive on my computer directly the images are accessed but if I publish my application to my web site and install via the publish.htm page then the images are never accessed regardless of what I have the Build Action set to.
If the Build Action is set to Content then it won't even install because I get an error that says the computed hash for the images doesn't match the manifest. I've tried all the different Build Action options without success. For Build Action = None, Compile and Embedded Resource I don't get the error I do for Content but the jpeg images aren't accessed. [code]....
I'm using below code 2 add image into a picturebox during the run time. i could add image but when i clicked the picture to make it become smaller, the picture quality is blur which not as the initial picture.
I added to images (.png) to my resource folder. When I am coding, only the first image is showing in the intellisense. Example: PictureBox1.Image = My.Resource.Picture1 I cannot get it to show me: My.Resources.Picture2 even though picture2 is in the resource folder.
I have created a new project in visual basic and imported a photo in now i want to make the image move inside and I did that the problem is that the image keeps moving out the borders and disappear I want to make it stop how I should do that?
I have added a button in datarepeater. If clicked once, it executes code and Button.text should change to Yes. Clicked again, it executes the opposite code and button.text should change to No. Codes are being executed (I am using flag variable) but Button.text is not changing.
How to change this text. I am simply trying Button.text="Yes" but probably I need to give some reference of the row no. too. How to do it?
In the project I'm working on I've been using some gif images to define one or more texture brushes. I have the images in a folder and I know how to define the texture brushes as follows.
[Code]...
Let's say I add the images as image files to my application using "Add Existing Item". Is there a way I can define the texture brushes with the images that have been added to the solution in that way and if so could you show me the exact code.
We're exporting a set of data using .net interop to Excel and our template file contains some images. Depending on the amount of columns we're exporting we want to position the image X pixels left of the last column depending on the image size/width. Using the record a macro function moving the Image around is a 'no op'. Setting the Shape.Left position also won't work.
I'm currently working on a project for university, basically we were given an incomplete program to finish off with bonus points for adding addition features in.Part of the program is to move an image (a monkey) around the picture box (pen). Now to move the monkey we use 4 buttons on the form called Up, Down, Left and Right, however as we need to move the monkey around to test other parts of the program it gets annoying having to click on the button. As such I was able to get some code which allows me to move the monkey around using the arrow keys (I think you can all see the benefit of this). When I use the code in a blank form it works fine, however when I add a button onto the form the arrow keys will instead highlight the buttons.basically set up a button to disable all buttons on the form until a certain key is pressed, however I would prefer not to have to do this.
