Nov 30, 2010

This is my programs complete code, the only problem is i want to fix the amount of decimal places that show up in my gridview. The problem is if i do this on the asp side the location of the column gets thrown off and the column is duplicated. I figured if i just remade the table on the asp side it would work only problem is if i remove the sql for that particular column the asp side column cannot get data.

.net - Entity Framework 4.1 Code First+MVC3 And Accessing Entities Of A Certain Type?

May 13, 2011

I am using Entity Framework 4.1 code first+MVC3 and the inheritence stratagy that I use is TPC

I have the following classes
Public Class ObjectBase
<Key()>
Public Property Id As Integer
Public Property Description As String
End Class

[Code]...

Question 1 (and question 2) should be very simple, but I have allready spent hours on Google to find an answer with no result at all. The only thing I have found is that you can get all computers in ObjectBase by writing context.ObjectBase.OfType(Of Computer), and that does not help since you cannot write context.BorrowObjects.ObjectBase.OfType(Of Computer) code samples in VB.NET (if you can), but more importantly: Please ensure that the codesamples you supply work without hours of modification!

C# - Fixing CA2122 With Process.Start

Mar 15, 2012

In an application we can output a report as a csv file and load it up similar to the following code:

Process.Start("C:MyReport.csv") ' Not real path

When running code analysis it produces the following error:

CA2122 Do not indirectly expose methods with link demands 'Form.Function(Definition)' calls into 'Process.Start(String)' which has a LinkDemand. By making this call, 'Process.Start(String)' is indirectly exposed to user code

I have seen somewhere to mark the assembly with the SecurityTransparentAttribute, does this just suppress the message? If so this is not what I would like. Is there another way of opening the file that would circumvent this message without suppressing it? I would ideally like to avoid Excel automation if I can as Excel is not used anywhere else at the moment.

.net - Excel Data Export Fixing Number Errors/removing Green Triangles

Aug 8, 2011

After exporting data using a third party component the data in the excel sheet isn't type correctly. Excel thinks that some values are string while they are numbers and a little green triangle shows up.

We've coded the following to fix this:

For Each objCell As Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Range In objWorkSheetReport.Range(objWorkSheetReport.Cells(1, 1), objWorkSheetReport.Cells(Me.RowCount + 10, Columns.Count + 10)).Cells

[Code].....

This removes all those little green triangles but is really slow.

Is there a faster way to convert a Range of data quickly so the green triangles don't show up?

C# - DisplayFormat/DisplayStyle Property Of TextBox (Visual Studio 2010, .Net Framework 4)?

Jul 22, 2011

Is there any predefined property by which I can set the DisplayFormat/DisplayStyle of a textbox? Suppose I want a textbox to hold the actual value 888888888888.88 and show it formatted as 888,888,888,888.88. In short it should hold 'Double' data type value and show it with thousand separators and decimal places upto two digits. If text is cleared from the textbox, it should have 0 as value and 0.00 as displayed value. Also the number of digits in the textbox may vary accordingly. So how can it be done?

Upgrading .Net Project From Framework 1.1 To Framework 4.0?

I have a solution that I wish to upgrade from Vb.net framework 1.1 to framework 4.0. The solution consists of a number of projects, all but one of which compile to dll's. The master project compiles to a executable which provides a menuing system which dynamically loads the dll's and connects to entry points.

The projects contain normal classes, numbers of forms and also controls, which are either usercontrols or are inherited extensions of standard windows controls. There are a number of third party components (eg reporting and grid controls from Component One, Ribbon control from DevExpress etc).

Can't Type In A Textbox That Shows Cursor

Jan 15, 2010

I am having some bizarre issues with getting focus on the child objects of some user controls that I am developing. The base control, DatePanel, consist of three radio buttons, a textbox, a combobox, and a datetimepicker.Depending on which radio button is selected depends on which of the other controls are visible. The default state of the control has the textbox and combobox visible. When I test the control in the VS test container, I click in the textbox, the cursor appears but I cannot type, if I click in the textbox again then I can type.I have tested enough to figure out that if I click on any other control and then click on the textbox I can type.I have tried adding a gotfocus event for the user control to both Focus and Select the textbox and neither does anything. This user control is on several other user controls that are in development because I didn't catch the behave at the beginning. To make things a little stranger in one of the other controls, I found that if I set the tabindex of DatePanel A to 0 then I was able to type in the textbox after selecting it the first time, however if instead I click in the textbox of DatePanel B the cursor appears in that textbox but when I type the text appears in the textbox in DatePanel.

In terms of code on the DatePanel there are 6 properties and 3 events. The 6 properties return values of the fields on the DatePanel and the three events are for watching the state of the radio buttons.Other than that I did try adding the GotFocus event to no avail.I can provide any code that is needed but between myself and my colleagues we couldn't see anything that would have any influence over the control focus.
