Apr 8, 2010I have text files with X Y Z data. There are three columns, one each for X, Y and Z and the files are tab delimited.The value of X is constant over a (repeating) range of Y. Z is the dependent variable.
For example:
0 1 44
0 2 32
0 3 22

I need something to take this file and break into multiple tab-delimited columns. In the output, I would like the initial range of Y to be the first column (ie 1 to 4). Then, the second column should have the Z values for that domain (X=0 in above example). Then, the next column should have the Z values for the next domain of Y (i.e. 1 to 4 again, but now for X=5 in above example) and so on. Also, I'd like the first line value in each of the new columns containing Z values to be the X-value they were originally associated with.Thus, I'd like the output file to look like
Y 0 5 9
1 44 66 51
2 32 11 72

Sep 20, 2011I have a problem when i want to E&C on break mode.I turn off Optimized code generation but i still haved the problem!Here, Build>Configuration manager, when set configuration to release, i get an error like "Changes are not allowd when the debugger has been attached to an already running process or the code being debugged was optimized at build on run time". in Other Side when set it to debug, the breakpoints not be hit and have a error like "The breakpoint will not currently be hit.No symbols have been loaded for this document".I use Win7 x64,Visual studio 2008 and also set my project's platform target to X86?

My setup may make this easier or harder but to be clear I am running Kubuntu 9.10 (latest stable) and WinXP in a VirtualBox VM. Obviously all VB6/VS2008 dev is taking place in the virtual machine.So maybe it's possible to have the linux host send through Ctrl+Break based on a key mapping, or maybe it's possible to remap directly in WinXP. I'd settle for any solution as atm I need to use the XP On-Screen keyboard to send a Ctrl+Break.

Oct 14, 2010i am using visual studio 2005 on win 7 with office 2007. i have developed win application. i am using microsoft activex spreadsheet component in my program. so it automatically creates reference to AxInterop.OWC11.dll When i run program in debug mode (open program and click RUN in toolbar it works) but if i run directly .exe (go to bin elease doubleclick .exe) it give error at loading point of that component. It says "Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory has been corrupted." An unhandled exception occurrs.

C# - Deploying App To Production Using Debug Mode Rather Than Release Mode?
Oct 28, 2010I work for a shop that maintains a fairly new app. The app still has its fair share of bugs, with numerous tickets coming in daily. The error information we're given with those tickets is not as useful as it might be because the application was compiled in Release mode, which I read is smaller and faster (makes sense).
Are there any ramifications to deploying a .NET application to production that was compiled in Debug mode? I would expect it would be a bit slower, but I've read the difference is nominal. This would assure us that when we get errors on tickets we have line number associated with those errors and this, of course, makes debugging much easier. major red flags that would prevent you from doing this? I'm tasked with researching the possibility.

.net - Results Different When Break Into The Code?
Nov 21, 2011I created a small vb.net console app in visual studio 2008 trying to learn .net but my results show differently when I break in the code and press F11 to step through. If I do it this way, the results I expect to get show but if I don't break into the code the results aren't what I'm expecting.
Basically everytime I click a button i want to write four numbers that are random. If I break into the code, these show random numbers i.e. 1 3 4 3 but if i don't break into the code. my numbers are all the same i.e.1 1 1 1. I've got a breakpoint on the line of code that writes something to the event log and I've made that breakpoint conditional so it only breaks when iCurrentScreen =1. However, whatever's setting it back to 1 I don't seem to be able to track down. Before I go putting breakpoints on every line of code that changes the value of iCurrentScreen . is there a way to tell the system to let me know when iCurrentScreen becomes 1 no matter where it happens?

Is there any way to embed something into my page buffer so that it will force a page break?

Dec 24, 2009I am new to VS 2008 but have used VB6 for years. I want to be able to run my program in the IDE but when a Msgbox displays a message I want to stop the program and see the MsgBcode. I am using Windows 7 and VS 2008 professional on a 64 bit machine. How can I do this? Do I have to install a 32 bit version of VS 2008?
