I am reading a csv file in to a datatable in vb.net and making a few checks and appending an extra column. I then want to perform a bulk insert using microsofts Oracle.DataAccess (no choice in this) to an Oracle database. what would be the best way to perform this as there is no bulkImport like in SQLserver.

View 7 RepliesI am having a strange problem since installing the latest version of ODAC, 11.2.0.2.1. I installed both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions because I develop applications for both architectures. My computer is Win 7 64-bit.
Since installing ODAC and referencing the new 64-bit version of ODP.NET, one of my web application projects in Visual Studio 2010 gives the following warning for all aspx pages and masterpages when I view them in Markup View.
ASP.NET runtime error: Could not load file or assembly 'Oracle.DataAccess' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format.
The warning is limited to Markup View. The web application builds and runs fine. I tried cleaning the VS Temporary ASP.NET Files, but that did not fix the issue. I removed all references to Oracle.DataAccess throughout my application, and then readded them to be sure that all the references were correct. The web app is compiled to 'Any CPU' but it uses the 64-bit Oracle.DataAccess. I created a new project, and referenced the same projects and dlls, and I do not get the warning, so it appears to be specific to this project file.
I want to make a basic winsock chat server and client, and I just need to know the basics, like.How do you determine where to send the data?How do you determine where to receive data from?How to actually send and receive the data?I just don't want to read from a website that has a lot of extra information. I just want to start off with the basics so I can actually learn.

i made a method for selection of record from database every worker call this function . Now I have a check when dataset is filled i checked is there any row ? if yes then it do the rest of work otherwise agin call it self to search for the record...ECURSION.. In Case of records with status zero , It works Fine But in Case of no records Which have status zero it recursively calls itself For approx 1.5 mints and then throws The Exception That " System.StackOverflowException occured in mscorlib.dll at line "DataAdapter.Fill(Dataset,Table)" . I have recently updated a legacy compact framework application to support Windows Mobile 6.5 but after going through my backwards compatability testing I have an issue with the WinCE 5 device.When attempting to run the application from both the EXE and the debugger I get the "An unhandled exception of type 'System.TypeLoadException' occurred in Unknown Module." exception but its not giving me any idea which dll / type it has issue with.The changes do work on the Windows Mobile 6.5 Motorola device and the Pocket PC 2003 Psion Device but not on the WinCE5 Psion device.Does anyone have any ideas how I can find out which reference is causing me the issue. I have tried removing the new references to the Symbol barcoding and imaging libraries but I am still getting the same error.OK, it looks like the .Net Compact Framework installation had corrupted some how. I am having problems with the code below. I have copied and pasted the code from a program that I wrote to test and see if the code does work. In that program it does. Private conn As New OracleConnection()" to connect to my Oracle database..but when i put my program to another PC I need install Oracle Client on it...is there some other way how to connect to Oracle DB without installing oracle client to client PC??
