I was wondering if anyone knows if there's a way to programatically unlock the currently logged in account (i.e. when the user hits Windows + L), or even to just unlock the screensaver password.
My request is a difficult one. What I wish to do is unlock a machine when my program recieves a command. I have searced a lot and found nothing which helps. The reason I wish to do this is simple. I have created an application which allows me to send SMS messages to my computer via twitter. One of the commands is to lock the work station. This was implemented without any problem. However, I do not know how to unlock it when the application recieves the unlock command.

I have a desktop computer with a cable connection on the back that allows me to watch TV on the computer using Windows Media Center. I had the idea of writing a program that would access this feed and send it to another computer (laptop) via my network. That way I would be able to watch TV from anywhere that my network spans. I have no idea if this is possible or how I would even do it,
So I have three questions. 1: Is it possible? 2: How would I go about access the feed? 3: How would I send it over the network?
My original thought was doing it in Flash, but I'm not very good at Flash so I wanted to do it in VB.Net.

I'm trying to copy a file to "My Documents" folder via VB.Net. But my problem is that I don't know how to set the path. For example on my computer the path looks like this:
"C:Documents and SettingsArithmeticaMy Documents".
as you see this path only exists on my computer. I'm trying to find a way to retrieve the windows account username right in VB.Net.
In the process of testing of old (XP compatible) applications with Windows 7 we have xperienced a problem, that our major application Clarify (based on VB engine) does not work properly with turned on UAC (SendKeys and DoEvents do not work). Having turned off UAC, works our application error-free. Due to the corporate policy we cannot turn off UAC but we are looking for a solution, how to turn off UAC (not prompts) only for our application or how to het to work an application based on VB with turned.

Here is what I am doing: I have several servers that are used to run a piece of software. The software is started using a scheduled task. I can have up to three instances of the software running using three scheduled tasks, and three logged in users. Currently I am using a separate program running on two additional servers to make sure these two additional users are logged in, the scheduled task will not run if the user is not logged in. This separate program uses a saved Remote Desktop Session to make sure the users are logged in.
