Update Database Without Re-enter All The Information ?

I am creating a update member page. I would like the page to auto retrieve the information he or she originally used while registering on my site and display them into the individual textboxes of the update profile page, this is to prevent the hassle to rekey in every individual details and allow the user to edit what he or she wants before it is updated into the database. The problem that I encountered was not able to update the changes in the database. When key in the latest data in address text box and hit submit button, the old data in address text box remains and did not update the database

I have a text box where i am entering numbers of double datatype andon the Keytdown event of the textbox some checks take pace and in certain circumstances I want to be able to stop the user from entering other information until they enter the right information in the textbox (where it says right here) . now when I say exit sub the textbox somehow loses focus . but this is not how I want it to be I want the textbox to remain with the focus so the user can change the information . How can i go about this. And the other thing is why is my txtDestPayRate1.Focus() just befor the exit sub not working?

when i enter information into the overall textbox say like 4.0 the calcuation should pick it up as 10.0 but its just taking the the 4.0 instead of the 10.0 in the select case. How do i get it to take 10.0 instead of 4.0. here is my code,

So what i have is textbox1 textbox2 and richtextbox1 I want to enter information into textbox1 and textbox 2 and then hit submit so it records the data in the richtextbox as if it is a chart.
My current code for this is RichTextBox1.Text = TextBox1.Text & (" | ") + TextBox2.Text & (" | ") + "Pending"
But every time you hit submit it erases the current data and puts the new one. i want it to record it on 1 line, then when u hit submit again it will go to the next line in the richtextbox and record the textbox information on that line and so on.

The program is currently trying to pull information from three different database tables and compiling the information onto one screen, to do this i am using three different connections and a function to handle the data at each stage. The issue is as my code hits PageLoadStage of "2" and runs the QueryDatabase() Function i am encountering an error of: "OleDB exception unhandled: No value given for one or more of the required parameters." This occurs on line 15 of the first code snippet. Can anyone explain this and/or identify any code issues if that is the cause.

I am using MS Windows XP, and Visual Basic Express 2008 and I am trying to write a programme that will enter a lot of information into another programme that I have written for testing purposes. The programme that I am writing to has up to 500 line items, by 10 possible suppliers; as you can imagine testing this every time is too labour intensive.[code].....
This code correctly takes me through the various forms until it reaches the Input General Information Form, which opens with the top TextBox in focus. However the entry, "Escravos Gas to Liquids", is placed in the last TextBox.How do I make it enter in the first TextBox, which is in focus? From that point on how do I cycle through the remaining 10 TexBoxes to make each entry?

I have a dataset with a number of data columns, due to sizing issues I've updated a number of the varchar columns from say VARCHAR(20) to VARCHAR(50).I'd like the DataTable to automatically grab the new column information, is this possible? no i have to update the 1 record with the new information .how do i do that.
i am using filestream,binary reader and binary writer.

I have a collection of objects (classes I created), and each one ties to a record in a database. I want an easy way to update the information, so I thought about declaring a record in the class, that would tie to the record on the database. However, I'm having a problem updating it now.
1) Can I declare a global variable for the data context, and leave it open the entire time the program is running? This would solve my problem, but I don't know if I can do that.
2) If not, besides coming up with a complicated class to do this, is there an easier way? Here is an example of what I am trying to do:

I have code which saves DGV contents including check box columns as a comma separated text file. I also have correct code which will take the text file and re-insert it into the DGV at a later time. This all works.When I'm working on the DGV, I have this

I've tried a "DataGridView1.Refresh" option but not getting it to work.The DGV is unbound. I need it to recognise which check boxes are true and update automatically when the information is opened from a text file.

I got a data grid which I use to enter notes and save on the database, the tasks I could not complete is to pass a value onto one of the cells. I want to pass a noteID, user's name and a date of now into the cells so the user would only need to enter the note. So can somebody drop me a line of code on how to pass a value onto a cell in the datagridview. I been trying something like this it does not do anything:

I would like to develop a Windows Service in VB.NET to monitor different SQL databases running in different servers. The user will enter/define connection string for each database.Also he/she will define connection interval.
For example, database A needs to be checked in every 5 mins and database B needs to be checked every 24 hours.
