Dec 15, 2011I have a bound datagrid which I fill from various search options that are available to the end user.Currently I have one of the columns (status) set as a DataGridViewComboBoxColumn with a collection of two items. 'Open' and 'Closed'When the I select for example 'Closed' and hit the 'Update' button an exception is passed with the caption'Update unable to find TableMapping['Tracker'] or DataTable 'Tracker''I have been looking at hope the mapping works for the last 3 hours but getting nowhere fast and I really need to get this project completed by the end of the week.The bound controls are:

that it looks as if my data adapter is trying to update the Scratchpad3, but what I need it to update is ExceptionsEdit. My question is, how do I get my data to post to the ExceptionsEdit table in my database rather than trying to post back to the Scratchpad3?

Jul 28, 2010I am building a program which relies on getting info from a twitter user. My idea was, I could either: A. Search the twitter user's feed for the current time. Or B: Get a email notification when he tweets, and send a sound. If I go with I would need to know how to search a webpage, get the time, and ring a sound if the time is present. If I go with B, I would need to know how to check email, and play a sound if a new email is recieved. Which one should I go with, and how would I do the things that I would need to know?

the other table B may be

I need to find the 45 If I use nested For Next I can get matches but anything not a match would show up not just the 45 value as the next progresses.
Unable To 'configure' A DataTable
Oct 25, 2010We have a small app that was converted from 2003 to 2005 to 2008. All was fine until i needed to alter the sql associated with a datatable. When i tried to 'configure' the datatable by right-clicking & selecting 'configure', the configure option was not activated. It was decided that what i needed to do was create a new web application in 2008, add the datasets within 2008, then either import &/or cut & paste the old forms & other pices into the new project. However, when i go to configure my new datatable in my new dataset, i have the same problem... configure option is not activated. What can i do to configure these datatables?

Feb 13, 2011I am fairly new to visual basic 2008 but not to visual basic(vb6). I want to insert a new row in the database table (library.mdb). I connected the database into my project and is bounded by a dataGridview control. I have no problem in getting the records from the database. I used the code under click event of a commandButton, after clicking the button neither the record inserts in the database table nor the program generates any error. The code I used is :

Mar 14, 2012I am building a custom search control in VB.NET and came across a problem getting distinct records into my datagridview. I want to bring exact matches back first so I run 2 of the same query on the same table with a slight difference:
select ... like "code%"
select ... like "%code%"
I have a datatable that I need to get distinct records from; I am append records from a sql query to the end of the datatable so I cannot use a union in sql to return the dataset (I want to preserve the order which the rows are added) I have been using this which is working fine for 2 fields:
dt2 = dt.DefaultView.ToTable(True, "Code", "Name")
But when I have 3 (or more) fields I get duplicates ONLY for the row I am querying:
dt2 = dt.DefaultView.ToTable(True, "Code", "Name", "Initial")
select ... like "initial%"
select ... like "%intial%"
I am clearing the datagridview.source before rebuilding this. Is there a way to get the distinct rows this way or should I just build something myself to remove the duplicates from the second datatable before appending them to the new table?

Oct 28, 2009I'm using Visual Studio 2008 on an XP machine. My other machine died so I had to re-install VS on a new machine. Everything worked find until I went to the new machine. Now I keep getting these 2 messages below when I go to build my solution:

I tried to remove the references to both .dll's and then re-add them in and that didn't work. I tried removing and re-adding stdole, and that doesn't work either. I tried installing VS on another machine, but I get the same messages there.
The only thing I noticed out of the ordinary is under Detected Dependencies, when I right-click on axinterop.mscomctllib.dll and view the dependecies, I noticed there is a yellow exclamation point in the icon for interop.stdole. I don't see any information regarding that exclamation point however.

Mar 20, 2009I have developed a windows based application using visual studio 2005 called DMS. On the client side, this application runs on asp dot net framework 2.0. We have created its setup file which has to be installed on the client pc. After the installation of the application, some of the users get the error message as:
DMS.exe - .net framework initiation error Unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application
(I have also attached the screen shot of the error message.) Trouble shooting done by me:
a. I had tried the re-install Dot Net Framework 2.0.
b. Scanned the PC for virus attack.
c. Install dot net framework 2.0 first and then the application.
d. Un-install and re-install the whole application.
But none of the solution works. The only thing that works temporarily is un-install the whole application and re-install it. Then it works for a few hours.

Jul 8, 2010I have written an application that calls 'My.Computer.FileSystem.SpecialDirectories.Currentm UserApplicationData'. My application is working fine, but one user has reported an issue that has me stumped. When this property is accessed, the following exception is thrown:
"Unable to find an entry point named 'VerLanguageName' in DLL 'version.dll'". The stack trace says that the exception came from Microsoft.Win32.UnsafeNativeMethods.VerLanguageNam e(Int32 langID, StringBuilder lpBuffer, Int32 nSize)
I don't think the problem is with my code. I suspect that there is something wrong with a system-level component on her computer, particularly with the DLL that is mentioned. Is this DLL part of a specific windows component that could be reinstalled/repaired?

Feb 6, 2012Is it possible to get the row index of a DataTable so that you can access the previous and next row? For example I have a DataTable that contains two columns ChapterTitle and PageURL. This is for a table of contents of a book. ChapterTitle is the chapter name and PageURL is an HTML page that contains the chapter (chaptername.html). When going into one chapter of the book I want to be able to tell which is the next and previous chapter.

Find The Maximum Value Of A DataTable?
Jun 20, 2012I have been very stumped by this one. I have a fairly large (~1500 x ~1000) DataTable of positive and negative integers only that I acquired from a .csv file. For my program, I need to find the maximum value of the entire table, not just in a single row or column. Optimally, the code would be short and sweet, but that's not always the case ;).
The name of my DataTable is BeamMap and I am trying to return a value of MaxValue (already declared as an integer). I can post the code I have for creating the DataTable upon request.
Extra Credit: (not really)
Is there a way to quickly find the location (ie., row,column) of said maximum value? So far, all of the examples I've seen check cell by cell for a predetermined value, which is rather inefficient for the number of data points that I have.
