Find Text In Webpage / Check When Mail Is Received

I am building a program which relies on getting info from a twitter user. My idea was, I could either: A. Search the twitter user's feed for the current time. Or B: Get a email notification when he tweets, and send a sound. If I go with I would need to know how to search a webpage, get the time, and ring a sound if the time is present. If I go with B, I would need to know how to check email, and play a sound if a new email is recieved. Which one should I go with, and how would I do the things that I would need to know?

Using VB.Net, how would I go about checking if a loaded page in a Web Browser object contains a certain line of text? Sorry if theres an obvious answer for this, I'm used to programming in Java.

I am teaching myself vb.net and wanted to change this code to have an embedded mail.boby from a text file instead of the file attachment. Code spippet below and where I need help is mail.Body = ("tracertALL.txt")
that just puts the name of the file NOT the contents of the file. This code is a CMDWrapper that runs a batch file and I want the contents of a trace route that is pipe to a file >> tracertALL.txt .

I ve seen a lot of good and "bad" in implementation newsletters.
In my opinion Devexpress has good ones. I never clicked the "Having trouble reading this newsletter in your E-Mail client?" because the message is allways displayed correctly.
I have also seen "bad" newsletters. "Attachments, pictures, and links in this message have been blocked for your safety". By default the only option is selecting the "Show content" button. And that is a bad thing i suppose in marketing ;)
Is there any way in asp.net - vb.net, of parsing a web page and including it as body in the email?

I am trying to write something through serial port to my device. Before that, I added the data received handler to read the data when the device response with some data. The problem now is how can i check the status of the data received event? I need to know when the data received event has started or has ended before I can proceed to do some other task like check if the result is successfully receive.

I'm trying to create an application that sends an email to an smtp-server. The server is not set fixed, but will be looked up according to the domainpart of the email-address where the email should be sent to.

It would be quite useful, to know if the message was accepted by the mailserver and the message was successfully sent. What I am able so far is, that I can get the SMTP-Server error code (if there was an error (StatusCode 5xx) by using the System.Net.Mail.SMTPClient Object and its SendAsync Function. There, if there was an error, I get an Exception-Object in the Callback-Event of the SMTPClient
I'm well aware that not every mailserver will tell me if the mailaccount truly exists and then reject my mail with an errorcode but instead just accept the message and then delete it. Therefore I would be grateful for another Method to check if the mail was sent (note: not read, that would be the read confirmation)
The final purpose would be: Try to send an email to a recipient using it's domains mailserver and if it fails, proceed according to the errorcode (user does not exist -> abort / mailserver did not respond -> use another mailserver if available).

Currently, to avoid errors from being thrown up due to invalid email addresses, I do the following:

However, rather than depending on Try..Catch, is there a way of validating that the email address will be 100% valid for the MailAddress type?I know there a plenty of regex functions out there for validating emails, but I'm looking for the function which the MailAddress type uses to validate its addresses.

I have a control into a html div in this way: <div id="FilesUploadedAttachment" runat="server"></div> that's part of a page called Donations.aspx)that allows you save info, (this page have a master page) After fill all needed fields, the user can attach a document pressing a image button and the document (link) appears in the control "FilesUploadedAttachment". When the user press save button I validate all required fills git a routine called ValidateFields in ohter module. The problem is that i need validate if exists something into this div, but until this momment i can't find this control, only can find the controls of the master page but no the rest so first, is possible do this and if is possible, how i can do. I let you the routine that i have been used for do that. I'm using IE6 and framework 2.5

I'm writting a vb application that will go out and pull data from an internal webpage which I have no control over. I need to check a checkbox on the webpage. The checkbox ID is "Checkbox".The checkbox has javascript code in behind it that executes an onclick command: onclick="getMore(); return false; I've written code to perform the check of the checkbox but I guess the onclick is not happening. I am working on a task in which I have to download all flash objects swf and flv files running in web page. I have got no clue to find he source of .swf file, as mostly swf files comes from other servers. I want to find out some way to find the source / url of .swf currently running. Kindly suggest me some way.
I have 2 ideas in mind, but currently unsuccessful in implementing them
1. Using WebBrowser class and somehow find url of swf.
2. Using Pcap to fetch all http packets and after decoding, some how try to find url coming.

I just went from Visual Basic 6 to Visual Basic .NET 2008 Express Edition.
And now I am planning to make a program, using the Web Browser function, but there it stops The program is supposed to navigate to an site, then check for some text from the site.
