Im making a search function for an application and they need to be able to search by any value in the DB in any of the three tables. Im wondering the best way to go about this. 2 of the 3 tables have the same columns while the last one is totally different. Below is what I kinda "thought" itd look like but no.

I have a small project i am doing for work to compare our website catalogue to our actual inventory in our financial software. To do this, i have exported the online catalogue as a delimited text file using "^" as the delimiter. I have multiple tables that I need to pull and display data from. I have created a new query in the TableAdapter of one table to pull data from related tables based on a parameter. In the Query Designer I can run my query and see all of the columns requested in my SELECT statement, however when I bind this table to a DataGridView and call the new query, it only returns the original columns from Table1.How do I see all of the columns I selected in my query?

I have a vb.net web application and when a particular function runs , i get data timeouts in the rest of the application..(ie..row not found errors or column does not belong to table but it does) The function is adding multiple rows in multiple tables in the database and is running in a for loop. It seems to be all SQL related but I am not seeing anything in the error logs in SQL or in the application Right now I am assuming it is memory related where to start note..the for loop will be replaced with a bulk insert but right now I jest need to resolve the issue of the timeouts

I load this in my VB program to a table called "EMPID_Table"
In the SQL database, there is a table that has a lot of data that I need to retrieve based on the Employee#, which is the same as the EMPID from the Access database. In my VB program this is loaded into a table called "WagesTable"
How can I merge these tables, or add the columns FIRSTNAME and LASTNAME to the WagesTable
to the correct Employee# in my VB program? I cannot change the SQL database at all, I can only read from it.

I'm trying to verify if data exists in two different tables in a single transaction. The reason for the single transaction is the database gets hit about 1-3 million times a day so adding anymore than 1 extra transaction would increase that number up to 9 million, and my poor little server needs a break :)
So I need to check if an ID exists in table X and table Y and return the results to my VB.net script so I can handle the outcome Ideally something like this would work

Which gives me "True, True" if exists in both or "True, False" etc etc... But that only displays in SQL print and not actually returning it as an object/string or array values that I can use.
I'm open to any sort of solution of this nature that can give me two results from a single transaction and how to handle that response in vb.

But how to do that in LINQ or is there another option?
The problem was that the DataSet does not support Nullable-Types but generates an InvalidCastException if you query any NULL-Values on an integer-column. The modified LINQ-query from dahlbyk works with little modification. The DataSet generates a boolean-property for every column with AllowDbNull=True, in this case IsfiChargeNull.

changing the way the site search is done from just search a phrase as one string to searching a phrase "as multiple words" search. For example, if I search "cute puppy" right now, it will search it for "cute puppy" as phrase and won't match just "cute" and "puppy". The way the search is implemented is by passing a search phrase to a Stored Procedure in SQL Server.So now, I need to change to site search so when "cute puppy" is searched, it will search two words.... I am trying to search the 4 columns of my array by using this click event. The column is determined by a radio button as you can see. I changed my code from last time and now it works, but only for the first column. If i try to search out a string in the second or third columns I get an error based on the line highlighted in blue HTML accutally shows and it is green. the error says Index was outside bounds of array
