I am using the Folder Browser Dialogue to allow the EU to select a folder for HTML output. The dialogue always shows in the middle of the screen. Is it possible to set where the dialogue appears? It currently overlaps an image which is expoted to HTML, however when this image is exported, it captures part of the folder dialogue box. The image export routine is 3rd party and uses layers so I can not change the export function.Or is it possible to check the dialogue has closed prior to me performing the image export?

I'm trying to write a program where people can click a browse button, click a file to copy, and then click a second browse button and click a destination folder. I've tried
My.Computer.FileSystem.CopyFile(TextBox1.text, TextBox2.Text)
and get the error "Could not complete operation since a directory already exists in this path 'C:UsersSamDesktop'."
FileCopy TextBox1.Text, TextBox2.Text
gives me "The target file "C:UsersSamDesktop" is a directory, not a file."
Both methods work if I put C:UsersSamDesktop'filename'.'extension' in the destination. But I want the user to be able to select the destination without having to type a new file name.

I am working on a program using VB.Net 2010 which will enable me to setup groups of files & folders for back up with syncing capabilities etc. I have a concept program which is based on some sample code I found out in one of the VB.Net forums. I have modified it from a command line based program to a form based program. At the moment I consider this code to be a "concept" program which once I have the various copy/sync routines developed and debugged will be integrated in to another program I wrote for
creating "Back Up" groups to automate the process. There are some 3rd party programs that do similar things that I want to do such as Microsofts Sync Toy, but none of them offer the grouping and exclusions options that I am going to program in to this backup/sync program.
So here is my problem, I have the included code taking two folders, a source and a destination, and copying everything from the source to the destination. It will skip over any unchanged files/folders and will delete anything found in the destination folder that is not found in the source folder and it will update all files in the destination folder that have a newer version in the source folder. In other words it will mirror image the source to the destination but will be smart enough not to copy unchanged items from the source to the destination thereby saving a lot of time. The sync part of the program is working fine, the displaying of the progress and results is not.

I want to copy an HTML file from one location to another using VB.net. When i use any of the three FileCopy, System.IO.File.Copy, My.Computer.FileSystem.CopyFile it copies only the file and not the "filename_files" folder which contain its associated images and scripts.
What i want to do programatically is copy a.html to another location as b.html
when i do that and open b.html it opens it without any images and scripts.

I'm trying to move a lot of pictures from FOLDER A to another, FOLDER B. However, some of the pictures already exists in the FOLDER B. This stops my program saying it cannot copy the pictures over because they already exist. I'm trying to make it so any pictures from FOLDER A will copy over the pictures in FOLDER B if they are similar in name. Like... Folder A's pictures will just replaced the Folder B pictures if they have the same name. I was told to use the System.IO.File.Copy tool. Here is my code.

I want to copy files with a specific extension (for example .config or .exe). It should create a structure of nested directories, and then insert each file into a specified place in the directory hierarchy. Ideally I would just specify a parent directory for each file and a parent directory for each directory and it would build it.
I need any existing utility or batch file or power-shell script or C#/VB .Net code to perform this activity.

I have an xml file that contains a file/folder structure.I'd like to load the xml file into a Listview (Details view) and being able to navigate through the folders by double-clicking on them.Basically the same as you can do with Windows Explorer, but not with actuall files on the hard drive, but solely with files/folders listed in an xml file. Or shown in the picture below from an FTP client. Double-clicking on "Images" will show the contents of that folder, double-clicking on <Parent directory> will show the contents of the parent directory.I don't need help with the icon/filetype, but I have no idea where to start with the 'xml folder navigation'.

But now I have a need to allow the user to choose a folder path without selecting a file. Basically a folder location, on the local hard drive where my code will read the files located in the choosen folder and process against them.
I am drawing a total blank and my web searches are not giving me what I am looking for.
I initially developed this with a Windows FolderDialogBrowser control, but it will not run on the web server, likely a security issue, and I can not change it.
