View 1 RepliesI need to submit a project tomorrow, and the topic is WPF using XAML. We are using VB by the way. Now I am still a beginner at programming, so I needed help. I've got a ton of WPF and blend tutorials open in tabs in my browser, but I have no idea where to start, and no idea for a project. I asked my tutor and he said he'll be checking our understanding of XAML, and creating an object using XAML as well as the other way round.
I stumbled onto some tutorials of media players main in WPF, and I decided to go with it. But because I have never used blend or WPF along with XAML before, I don't know what to do, if say I make a button in blend with effects, so that I may add coding behind it in VB. Please help me out. I've got like 15 hours before I have to submit.
I have a project where I added visually and successfully a datasource of MySql. I binded a datagridview with a table.

Does anybody know which version of Visual Studio 2010 contains the full set of Visual Basic SharePoint Templates? I am about to embark on a project to create Visual Web Parts to be used in a SharePoint report.
At the moment I am using Visual Studio 2008 and even though the WSPBuilder is installed none of the relevant SharePoint templates are present.Having searched SO and the web, most advise to install the templates via the Visual Studio command prompt: devenv /installvstemplates
Alas the Visual Studio command prompt is also missing from my VS2008 installation.So, the question remains: which version of VS2010 contains what I need for pain-free SharePoint development? There is a rather large price different between VS2010 Professional and VS2010 Premium, so can anyone tell me if the cheaper version (VS2010 Professional) contains all the Sharepoint templates?
I am just wondering how I can add Direct X references to Visual Basic in Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2. I cant find them in the .NET reference list, or the reference list, or anywhere. I downloaded the Direct X SDK for August 2009, but I can not add the .dll files to the reference list. Is there anything I can do to add them? I need the references for programming reasons.

I have a class with many structures and each structure contains variables and im trying to add to my program a way to save the data of that class object with its structures and everything is that possible? I tried manually making some sort of save but its taking too long and proving way too hard for me. Is there a way to just convert it into some general object format and save the object? Is that possible can you just save undefined objects without having to create a format manually for that object?

This is what I have so far for the following scenario: I want to have it so that if a users clicks submit without checking a check box from one section it throws up a dialog box that makes the process loop and give them a chance to check a box. The process wont continue until at least one check box is checked. The same thing above goes for my radio buttons as well. Here's my code:

View 3 RepliesIn this application I need to allow users to enter a month as integer (1-12) then use integer tryparse to validate that input, that seems to be the easy part. I need two create two functions, one that returns the name of the month and the other returns the number of days in that month. The arrays are supposed to be defined and initialized within the function so that the main program can take the user input and call the two functions, then return the appropriate values as output to labels. I am not sure how to declare the arrays in their appropriate functions and then how to call those functions to retrieve the right value from the function.
