I am having problems locating any documentation or examples for rendering video on a form using DirectX. I need to use DirectX because I will be putting overlay's on the video loaded dynamically. I will also want to perform transitions between 2 video instances.
I can not find any documentation on Google or Microsoft's site, Such as render the video on a 3d object as a texture, maybe... IDK?
This is for Visual Studio 2010, .net framework 4.0, using vb.net.
When I try to play an audio file through DirectX, that isn't my development machine, I receive this error.
The DirectX library I'm using is Microsoft.DirectX.AudioVideoPlayback.dll.
I include the library when I build the application and I thought that would work. Both PCs have the same version of DirectX installed. So what else do I need to install?
The app itself is meant to run on a USB, so I can't install it, but I'm able to install 3rd party libraries during the initial load.
So I have a wav playing using DirectX in VB6. If i switch to another window, it stops playing. If I click back on the VB6 window it resumes play. How do I make it continue playing when I change windows? Another problem I cannot load wav files larger than 50 megabyte. It says Out Of Memory. How can I increase that?

I am trying to develope a small graphics application in VB.NET. My startup form has a picture box with a background image loaded from a file. The user can click spots on the picture box and this draws some circles on it. On exit the coordinates for these spots are saved to a file.In my form load procedure I load the background image, the coordinates for the graphics(saved from the last time the program was run), and then call the drawing procedure.
The drawings appear for an instant and then dissappear. If you click the picture box the graphics re-appear.The form works fine once you do this.I guess the picture box is refreshed by the form load event and this is causing the drawings to be wiped.(I stalled the call to the drawing procedure by using a timer and this works but I am sure there is a proper way of fixing this)Is there a way of ensuring a form is fully loaded or making sure the drawing procedure occurs only when the form is fully loaded?

I have 10 Comboboxes in a form. All these combo boxes have databound items which come from the same column in a table in the database (access 07) (Am designing a billing software, and these comboboxes show the items (10 lines of them).All these combos reside in one Groupbox.Now for the strange (scary/funny) part, whenever I change a value of 1 combo, all the other combos change automatically and show the same value as the one that was changed. View 6 RepliesI may have corrupted my Visual Studio Software. I have two problems which may be related. The first is when I open anew project, I can't change the name of the form. I enter frmXXXX and it returns a splash box indicating I may loose my programming. If I continue the program gives me an unusable form. This happens when I have not even begun to use the form. My Visual Studio is set up to work with Visual Basic only.
Secondly, when I try to incorporate events, I can not get them to function. Using the basic form set as Form1, the Load event will work, but it enters as "Private sub Form1_Load ........ Handles MyBase.Load not Me.Load. When I try to use the events: KeyPress. KeyDown Or KeyUp, I can't get them to function. They also are entered as ........ MyBase.KeyPress. To enter an event I go to the Properties Menu, and use the event enry, click on the function, then double click the function. The sub-routine is loaded into the program, but doesn't function. I am learning by using a text book that the same programming works in a demo which was downloaded.
