View 5 Repliesfrom the code below I am trying to find out if checkBox1 is Checked or Unchecked. and then I want my settings to remember if it is checked or unchecked. so when the form is loaded I want my settings to load the last action.... ie checked or unchecked.
so if a user check's the checkbox1 then the message will not show, But if it is unchecked the the messageBox will be shown
Private Sub CheckBox1_CheckedChanged(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles CheckBox1.CheckedChanged
If CheckBox1.Checked = True Then

My teacher in computer programming told me that in order to make a next and back button i must do the following:
button1_click
dim pic as string = 1
if pic = 1 then
picbox1.image = my.resources.blahblahblah
[code]....
this does not work and i'm trying to freeze the value by using checkbox1.checked = true
if i type in textbox 1,3 then checkbox1 and checkbox3 will be disabled not checked !The coding i provide below is working but ,...it chekec the cjeckoxes according to the text in textbox i.e (1,3) then checkbox1 and checkbox3 will be checked ... but i want when i type 1,3 in textbox then checkbox1 and checkbox3 will be disabled and remain unchecked .
Protected Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
Dim separator As Char = ","
Dim allIIDs As New List(Of Int32)
If TextBox1.Text.Length <> 0 Then
[code].....
I'm developing the program which opens files/programs that I have selected and checked with checkbox1, 2 and 3(i haven't coded the tihrd one yet, but it doesn't affect). The first program runs instantly and others run after X interval if it's wrote in textbox4 and checked by checkbox4. So Checkbox is like an activator for this interval. If checkbox4 isn't checked then every program should run instantly. The problem is that checkbox4 isn't doing a job. Program activates the interval if there are somekind of numbers in textbox4. It doen't matter that is the checkbox4 checked or not.
Here is the
Public Class Form1
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
[CODE]...
And here is the screen of the program:
I have 4 checkboxes and 1 textbox in webform if i type in textbox 1,2 then checkbox1 & 2 will be checked !
directly after if i type 3,4 in textbox then the all 4 checkboxes will be checked But i want the checkbox will be checked accorcding to the data displayed in text box ..if textbox1.text =1,2 then only checkbox1 and checkbox2 will be checked and others are remain unchecked ...
and if i checked checkbox3 and checkbox4 then only 3 and 4 will be checked and others are unchecked...
how to do that in page load event I want to do this with 50000 checkboxes ..and more.... which displayed in my webform
[Code]...
But if i type 1,2 in textbox then checkbox 1 and 2 would be checked and agin i type 3,4 then checkbox1,2,3 and 4 all the checkbox will be checked ...but i want ...what everi type in text box only that checkboxes will be checked and others will remain unchecked.....
I'm having a lot of trouble with the windows in my application to size correctly. As a sample, I have a container form (mdi parent), with in which is Form1 (with a datagrid) and a form that is only called when a cell in the datagrid is double clicked. I want Form1 to always be maximized so I set the properties as follows:
Windowstate = Maximized
FormBorderStyle = None
AutoSize = False
MaximizeBox = False
MinimizeBox = False
So when I maximize the parent window, Form1 maximizes and shrinks correctly... but when I double click on the gridview and the popup form comes up, several things happen:
1. Form1 (in the background) goes back to normal size (not maximized)
2. If I click on Form1 (when the Popup form is on the screen) the form disappears into the background...
What I need to happen is for Form1 to always stay maximized, no matter what happens on the screen, and when the pop up form is on the screen, I should not be able to click on any form in the background, and it should never disappear into the background itself.
On the form that i have there is a listview with checkboxes enabled it all works fine but when i close and reopen the form all the previous checked checkboxes are uncheched . Is there a way to save the state of the checkboxes and on form load to restore them ?

In Vb.net 2005 how can i trap the checked/unchecked state of a datetimepicker through an event. I'm trying to execute two different methods based on the checked/unchecked state of a datetimepicker when the user clicks the datetimepicker. When the user checks the dtPicker Method A is executed, when the user unchecks it Method B is executed. How can i trap it.
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to program a personal project, but I've hit a bit of a bump in the road.I've got a Button, a Textbox, and a CheckedListBox; when the button is pressed, whatever is in the TextBox is added to the CheckedListBox. However, when the form is closed and reopened, all of the CheckedListBox's items are no longer present. My CheckedListBox's name in the code is ZapList.
Can someone assist me in, not only saving all of the CheckedListBox's items, but retaining whether or not they were checked as well as the order they were in? I've run out of hair to pull (figuratively) and I really don't want to quit this project, too much effort has gone into it and I'd hate to see it go unfinished like my numerous other projects. :icon_cry:
I am trying to access the checked state of a CheckBox from a BackGroundWorker thread. I am utilizing properties and it seemed to work just fine. However, I'm using 10-15 CheckBoxes and I think using the InvokeRequired property would probably be best. I've looked over JMC's thread that talks about how to access controls from the worker thread a bunch of different times and I can't seem to grasp the concepts. When it comes to the InvokeRequired property, I suppose I understand why it is needed. But I'm not sure if I understand it completely.
From the example that JMC provides:
vb.net
Private Sub ResetTextBoxText()
If Me.TextBox1.InvokeRequired Then
Me.TextBox1.Invoke(New MethodInvoker(AddressOf ResetTextBoxText))
Else
Me.TextBox1.ResetText()
End If
End Sub
If I'm not mistaken, this tells us that if invocation is required to access the control, then we access via the MethodInvoker if not, then we just access to directly? So, if I need to check the checked state of a check box, I know I can just put a conditional statement after the Else line if I can access it directly. But, if I can't how would I use MethodInvoker to check the checked state? And then, when calling it from the worker thread, would I just call the sub?
I have a Main form, called Main.vb, that is a Parent Form. I have another form called Notes.vb. Inside Main.vb I have a toolstrip with a button on it called Notes. I'm wanting to change the checked status of the Button to either True when the Notes.vb window is open inside the parent or to false when it is close. Is this possible?

View 6 RepliesI have managed to get it to write a string to a textfile if the listviews checkbox is checked but i can not get it to write a particular string if it is unchecked.
'LOOP CHECKED ITEMS
For Each lstItem As ListViewItem In Me.ListView1.CheckedItems

How do i Iterate an unchecked item as the library doesn't have .UnCheckItems?
If its checked i need to add "true" to the string and if its unchecked i need to add "false" to a string that gets written to a textfile.
I want to use property bindings under application settings to store settings for my program. However I have run into a problem. For some reason the checked property is not binding to drop down menu item's checked state. The binding works for text boxes and other controls. I have tried to bind both using the checked property, and checked state property. Auto check on click for the menu items are set to true.
Anyone have any recommendations in getting the app-settings property binding to work without the need to manually set that info and manually run My.Settings.Save?
I may have corrupted my Visual Studio Software. I have two problems which may be related. The first is when I open anew project, I can't change the name of the form. I enter frmXXXX and it returns a splash box indicating I may loose my programming. If I continue the program gives me an unusable form. This happens when I have not even begun to use the form. My Visual Studio is set up to work with Visual Basic only.
Secondly, when I try to incorporate events, I can not get them to function. Using the basic form set as Form1, the Load event will work, but it enters as "Private sub Form1_Load ........ Handles MyBase.Load not Me.Load. When I try to use the events: KeyPress. KeyDown Or KeyUp, I can't get them to function. They also are entered as ........ MyBase.KeyPress. To enter an event I go to the Properties Menu, and use the event enry, click on the function, then double click the function. The sub-routine is loaded into the program, but doesn't function. I am learning by using a text book that the same programming works in a demo which was downloaded.
can i change Form2.Location with 2 NumericUpDown controls?
View 3 RepliesSuch as with using Visual Basic 2010. what is an easy simple program to make? Like making your own calculator or whatever.If I even tried fiddling around with Visual Basic 2010, I would change Form1 to the name of the thing that I am creating, along with changing the color of the foreground/background and the color of the text too.But its the command text where I have to add text to make it work too that I would have trouble with. I ain't smart when it comes to stuff like Visual Basic.
View 1 Repliesi have form1 in vs2008, i would like to have a button where users can click it and the colorpicker pops up, like in photoshop or MSword where you select the text then pick the color.

As you can see, when I enable/disable my checkbox it enables/disables my textbox.
The thing is, I have more than one textbox, how can i add more textboxes to be enabled/disabled?
I tried using If TextBox2.Enabled = True AND TextBox1.Enabled = True Then
TextBox2.Enabled = False And TextBox1.Enabled = False. (of course fails)
Can you tell me how to change screen resolution using directX and automatically passing UAC. It should also turn back to the original resolution when the user exits the program.
View 5 RepliesWhat i want it to do is 'listen' to the lpt port, when a sensor is broken then display the time. there are two sensor to measure the time of the first and then the second sensor.How do i get VB to listen to the sensors which are on two different inputs of the lpt port and time stamp in micro seconds. I can get it to read the state of the input on mouse click but i need it to display the time in micro seconds when the input changes. i will then use the times from the two sensors to work out the time it took between both sensor changing.
View 5 RepliesI have two menu items from which I choose the interface language of a program (English or French).I want either of them to be chosen, both can not be chosen at the same time. I went over the properties of ToolStripMenuItem object and saw three properties that are confusing (Checked, CheckState and CheckOnClick), how can I mix them so that I get that functionality, I mean that when I check the French, the English gets unchecked and vice versa.
View 1 RepliesI have placed a few radio buttons in a panel, but I have a weird problem where they require 2 clicks to change their state.If one of the radio buttons is checked, and I click once on another radio button, this will uncheck the checked radio button leaving no radio buttons checked. I then need to click the radio button a second time to change its state to checked.
View 4 RepliesI want to have toolbarbutton appear in different color when checked.
My buttons all have Images and when Checked is True, a square box with a thin blue line appears around button. This is barely noticeable . What do I need to do when I set Checked=True?
See Note tool below:
I'd like the background color to be Gold filling the blue bordered rectangle around Notes tool.
Here's properties I've set on button:
With buttonname
.Text = txtName
.AutoSize = True

I want to make a check box change color when it is checked. In looking for answers it appears there used to be a fill color option in the properties, now in there is just back color and fore color. I am using VB 2008 Express.

When a checkbox is checked, the richtextbox1 will move to a new location in form3.
If CheckBox1.Checked Then
Form3.RichTextBox1.Location = (28,08)
End If
I'm making a program where the order of which check box is checked matters. At the moment theres a loop (as shown below.) but in which order it adds things to my list box... is... iffy. Is there a way to change the order? I tried 'Tab order' but that didn't seem to work.
