Using Office Copy Method To Create JPEGS?

Aug 25, 2009

I am creating some Jpegs on the fly using the copy method within Office products. Effectively I am taking a snapshot of some tables in Excel. I know how to copy the data. I now want to store the copied data into files in a temp directory. How do I take the information which is now on the Clipboard and paste it to a file which can be saved in a temp drive?

Office Automation :: Copy Data From One Workbook To Another ?

Sep 3, 2009

I'm trying to copy data from one workbook to another. The program first grab this data that comes in from a data collector and puts it in a excel spread sheet. It then closes its link to excel. I'm trying to grab that data out of the first spreadsheet and put it into a workbook thats set up like a template that will crunch the numbers. I'm currently dim-ing a varible called "grabber" as an Excel.range and setting it equal to the range of my raw data. Can I then say grabber.copy(Destination:=oWS.cells("A1")). I've been beating my head against a wall on this one.

Office Automation :: Copy Multiple Sheets To Another Workbook?

Sep 20, 2011

I have 2 sheets in a workbook that have links on them. I need to copy both sheets into this new workbook at the same time to update the links and not have sheets looking for the original workbook (it just temporary and deleted after the copy). I thought I had it, but I cannot figure out how to deal with the array that is needed (I copied the code from macro builder in excel)..

oExcel.Application.Windows("EP Labor Calculator.xlsm").Activate()
oExcel.Application.Sheets(Array("Rates", "Labor Calc")).Select()
oExcel.Application.Sheets(Array("Labor Calc", "Rates")).Copy(Before:=oExcel.Application.Workbooks("SAP Test.xlsx").Sheets(5))

Inheritance - Create A Method Called StartWorking() And Want FrmChild To Inherit - Method

Nov 25, 2011

I have a large problem with inheritance in vb.net. The problem is the following:

I have 2 forms => frmBase and frmChild

In frmBase i want to create a method Called StartWorking() and i want frmChild to inherit this method.

But here is the tricky thing: when frmChild.StartWorking is called i would like the following => without calling MyBase.StartWorking()

I want frmBase.StartWorking() to be executed first and after a test in frmBase.StartWorking if blnValue is true then frmChild.StartWorking has to be activated. if blnValue is false that frmChild.StartWorking cannot be activated.

.net - Sending Jpegs By Tcp Socket Sometimes Incomplete?

Apr 17, 2010

I've been working on a project for months now (vb 2008 express). There is one final which I can't solve.I need to send images to a client from a 'server'(listener). The code below works most of the time but sometimes the image is incomplete. I believe this might be something to do with the tcp packet sizes varying, maybe limited by how busy it is out there on the net. I have seen examples of code that splits the image into chunks and sends them out, but I can't get them to work maybe because I'm using a different vb version. The pictures to be sent are small 20k max.

Any working code examples would be wonderful. I have been experimenting and failing with this final hurdle for weeks.

Save Images As JPEGs With Custom Configurations?

Alternate Method To Copy Files To UNC Path?

May 7, 2009

I created a VB.NET Winforms app a while ago that printed drawings. The way it did this was to copy files from a network share to the folder for a plotter's que. This plotter would automatically just print anything that was dropped into this folder, which was specified with a path like \Btltmkeng_plt_q. I would do this by using the System.IO.File.Copy method. This worked well, until the company switched to a new printer. When my app copies the file, the printer only prints blank pages.

However, if I open two Windows Explorer apps, and manually drag the file from the network folder to the printer que folder, it works! This proves that the printer can handle these files if they are properly copied. Therefore, I was wondering if there were "alternate" methods for copying files in VB. I tried using the My.Computer.FileSystem.CopyFile method, but that just error out saying it could not find the target folder. Is there another method that more closely resembles what happens when files are copied using Windows Explorer?

Part ot my program is to simple copy a range of cells ~21 000 rows from one WB (oSH) and copy it to another WB (oSHOut).I've red a lot of posts,tried a lot of variants, but nothing helps..Strange here is that if I copy less than 8500 rows, the paste to the destination range is OK.But if I copy the whole range ~21000 rows, vb.net trigers an error - "Copy method of Range class failed".So I tried to do this in several parts - 1 row to 8000, 8001 to 16000 ect.The first copy-paste works OK, on the secon - there's an error.[code]

Properly Read Exif Tags In Photos/jpegs/tiffs?

Nov 12, 2011

I've almost finished my multimedia project. You can print the bitmap consisting of 100s of thumbnails or the full image associated with a thumbnail. The onloy thing missing is getting all the Exif info - which is proving more difficult than I expected despite the propetyitems in vb.net. Yes, I have set the encoding to UTF8 etc.
