Visual Studio 2010 - Altering Array Values In .NET?
Jan 3, 2011I'm using a 2D array to store data in a grid and all the data is ones and zeros. By default, the array is all zeros. When I attempt to modify values in the array using variable(y)(x) = 1 where x and y are integers in range it changes the value to 1 in the entire column, not just a single cell.

Jun 10, 2010I am making my first windows forms application in VS2010 and I am having trouble with arrays. I have code that dim's an array 'TabSiteInfo(2,20)' as a string. Then, I have a Loop that adds records to the array. The problem is that my array is not filling values from the loop. I know VS2010 handles arrays differently, but I have this same code working fine for me in VS2008 ASP.NET application. Below is a sample of the code.

VS 2010 - Permutations Of Array Values With Variable Number Of Members
May 5, 2011I have a number of arrays (lets say two for the time being, but this needs to be scalable from 1-n). Each array represents a different "parameter" for the application I'm working on. I need to create a multidimensional array containing a set which represents each of the permutations of each of the "parameters". Effectively each row represents each permutation of the selected options for each "parameter" array.
For instance, say the first array of inputs is:
"Blue"
"White"
"Yellow"
And the second:

95
I need to create an array:
"Blue", 1
"Blue", 66
"Blue", 95
"White", 1
"White", 66
"White", 95
"Yellow", 1
"Yellow", 66
"Yellow", 95
The main work is in the "If Not (OutputTemp Is Nothing)" loop. Effectively I need to access the content in the first array with a "modulus" so that: (using the example above). I'm accessing the rows in the following method

Oct 19, 2011I'm trying to validate a form to be filled out by the users, and when the required section isn't filled, I increment an
ErrorCount += 1
variable to show that error(s) have occurred inside the program, I then also set an
ErrorArray()
to whatever the corresponding field number is, now I have 0-12 (13 fields). What I have also done is titled the labels that are associated with all of these fields to correspond with the ErrorArray() value that might be set, such as.
PatLabel0
PatLabel1 etc.
What I am trying to do is loop through the array contents, depending on which ErrorArray() values have been set, to go and set the corresponding fontcolor property of that label to red, to show that these now need to be filled out. This is what I have, but Visual Studio doesn't allow me to use the iteration through the loop as a reference to changing properties. Can anyone point me in the right direction to trying to figure this out, or at least tell me what else I could do. Just seems doing 20 if....then....else.... statements with 2 - 3 lines in each of them is redundant when 1 function line could do the same job. This is what I have.

Jun 15, 2009I have an Active Directory browser written in vb.net 2008 that allows an end user to visually browse AD. Currently it displays the full DN for each child and what I want is to display just the name of the OU. Something tells me I would use the Tag() function but after playing with it, I just couldn't figure it out. All I removed was our internal domain name.
Would someone like to review what I have now and offer some ideas on what I would change to alter how the tree is viewed while retaining funuctionality?

I want it to take each number from the player's number array individually and compare them to each row individually in the lotto results array i.e. the first six cells in each row in the results array will be compared with each user number to find any matches, if a value matches then a count is incremented. if the count is greater than 2 but i'm getting no where with it :( i've been trying to use the For To loops but keep getting index out of range, or else nothing is happening at all!

Can't Add Values To An Array
Oct 30, 2009I have a text box that a user can enter integer values. When the user clicks the button, I want the value to be stored in an array. It works for the first value, but when the user enters the second value and clicks the button, the first value then becomes the index number of the element that stores the value, which is bigger than the array. I don't understand why the array index isn't incrementing by 1, and why/how the user entered value is assigned to "number".
For example:
100 -> click -> array(0) = 100 'Correct
200 -> click -> array(100) 'Out of bounds
