Tool Strip Menu Item Image Opacity
Apr 20, 2012I'm creating a Win Form app in VB Express 10, which includes an animation. While the animation is running, it would be helpful to fade (maybe 50% opacity) a tool strip menu item's image so that it would not distract from the animation. I've tried to change the item's transparency in the property drop down, with no effect. I think I would need a function to add to the animation start button to fade the tool strip menu item's image to 50%. Then if the animation stops, or the image is clicked, a function to re-establish 100% opacity.

Sep 4, 2009If i wanted to crop an image in VB.net, how would I go about doing it? I am trying to let the user drag out the box they want (system.drawing.rectangle), and it will automatically remove the edges surrounding the box.
My first problem is primarily the fact that I cannot make the system.drawing.rectangle visible. It is not displaying at all, I am setting its location and height programmatically, but nothing is showing up. I know there is probably something fairly obvious I am missing...but I cannot seem to find it.
My larger issue, however, lies with the cropping itself. I cannot find any crop methods, at all. Is there a hidden one I am missing? Or must I code it myself? How would I go about doing this? It ought to be able to output to a bitmap image object.
Scaling Image For Printing?
Aug 15, 2010I'm using the following code to print an image from a PictureBox. All works great except for scaling images down if they are bigger than the print page. Is there a method I'm missing to do this?

Also i am using Crystal Reports for Report solution. my question is How do i created reports such a way that they can be printed in faster Ascii Format on any DotMatrix printer. The default true type fonts make printing very slower.
I tried to use "Draft 10 cpi" font which come to available me after i installed a correct driver for my Epson printer. which also helped me overcome this problem. however it wont be the scenario with all my clients i.e. they might have different printers having different Make with different drivers installed. i have tried to open such project on there PC but the printing wont come in Draft instead the fonts get expanded too much & the print wont come right.

Because I use a .html file, the formatting would not the correct if I was to print it directly from my application (as far as I know). Nov 2, 2009I'm creating an application which has an scheduler to print and it checks if there is a pending job on the print queue before it prints the next file. I use a timer which checks if there is any file to be printed on my database. Example, the timer ticks and selected 10 files to be printed, it should print the 10 files 1 at a time, if there's no print queue, that's the only time the next file should print. I think another timer is required which will keeps on checking if print queue is done. How will i do this?

When I print the output to a PDF file using PDFCreator, it stacks all of the letters onto each other rather than creating new lines at the places I've specified. I've also tried using vbNewLine instead of vbCrLf, but I haven't had any luck. I searched the web for this but couldn't find anything about it.

Oct 13, 2008i have created a tool written in C# that would parse string (from 3 files) using regular expressions then throw all the matches in a grid. It works fine on my machine.. It returns matches from those 3 input files.. The problem is when i use that tool (.exe) in other machines..there are no errors. The program works fine for the first 2 files.. but doesn't return matches on the 3rd file.I tried copying the codes in one of the machines just to trace the problem, but when i run the program, it suddenly worked fine.. from then, the program is working fine on that machine.
