I'm looking to list all available performance counters (on a server) in my app and allow the user to select what he/she wishes to monitor. Then when they have been selected, hit a button, and the counters will start monitoring.
From using Google so far I can monitor one counter but I'm looking to monitor several user-selected counters. I guess in short I might be looking to re-hash perfmon. Would I need an array or a Microsoft.VisualBasic.Collection?
I working on a project that includes to call a certain type of method to each control, i have this
Private Sub txtBcNum1_KeyPress(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyPressEventArgs) Handles txtBcNum1.KeyPress
[Code]...
This code works like a charm if i want to allow only numbers and backspace on my textbox.Problem: I have 15 textboxes( txtBcNum1,txtBcNum2,....,txtBcNum15 ), what's the best way to call this function inside KeyPress method on each textboxes with out manually adding it to KeyPress method?
Hope everyones doing well, not sure about the new decor around here though..Anyways, i have some labels on my form im trying to use as counters for records in a SQL db. One works just fine, and yet another using an almost identical query is returning very odd figures. If theres 5 records on the db its counting that as 1, and setting the label so. If theres 10 its counting that as 2, if theres 15 its showing 3, and so on.
My first try was to init performance counters in an array, which didnt work. Then I read up on performance counters and from that reading, the constructors are such that performance counters cannot be put in arrays. What does one do for multiprocessing?
I'm trying to weave a .NET performance counter into an application. When I call the incrementBy(value) method on my avg performance counter it is changing the RawValue of my base counter by value as well. I checked the variable names and think everything is correct. Then when I call increment() on my base counter it adds 1 to the rawvalue of the avgcounter as well as incrementing the base counter... adding insult to injury!
In code I'm using two different counters to measure the time a merge sort I wrote takes. I have a instantaneous counter for the elapsed time of the sort and an average counter. Dim timePiece As New Stopwatch() timePiece.Start() MergeSort() timePiece.Stop() [Code] .....
I think I may be using the counters wrong, but why does changing the rawvalue of the average seem to also change the rawvalue of the base? i dont think that's supposed to happen.
I am trying to setup performance counters for CPU Usage and Memory Used.I would like a progress bar and a label to display the percentage.I have the below code and although it seems to be half working, there is something just not right.. The memory one seems to be working fine although the CPU one is acting strange.
I want to add in textbox2.text and a button when i press button1 (it minus the number or whatever number i deside to put into textbox2.text) then the time (in textbox1.text ) goes back up to 100
I've been trying to get memory information from the OS by using Performance Counters. Memory performance information is available from the memory manager through the system performance counters. Right now, I'm working on getting the different types of Kernel Memory, but I'm having issues getting others as well. Through Performance Counters, I've been able to get Paged Virtual and Nonpaged Kernel memory.
The article I mentioned above does not explain how to get the Paged Physical Kernel Memory. It only gives the two I mentioned and the total, which is just the two combine and isn't the Paged Physical. The information isn't straight forward, so I'm using a third party application to compare my results so that I get the correct information. The article gives me Pool Paged Bytes Kernel memory and I found out that it is the Paged Virtual Memory.
I'm declaring this and others like so: [Code] I've researched several other methods, but I can't seem to get anywhere with anything else besides Performance Counters. To sum it up, I'm looking for a method to obtain the Paged Physical Kernel Memory.
> Add controls/components (such as Performance Counters, Timers, etc.) to a project by dragging them onto the form and using them by setting the properties and using code to program what they do.
> Add controls/components (such as Performance Counters, Timers, etc.) to a project by using Dim x As New Performance Counter or Dim y As New Timer in code without actually dragging them from the Toolbox onto the bar at the bottom (under the Form Design).Or is there another way to do this that uses less CPU/RAM/Resources/etc.?

I've been trying to get some PictureBox'es to appear and disappear dynamically. Here is my code I've been trying to get to work:
Private Sub Container_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load Dim Image As New PictureBox
[Code].....
Obviously, this isn't how I started out. But I've been trying everything I can to get it to actually display. If I have a PictureBox with exactly the same properties, it displays when I tell it to. This way, it doesn't. I even created an entire class and used that - nothing. I'm guessing it may be the fact that I used a Dim statement, but I'm still a teensy bit novice-y to certain aspects of VB (in particular, Image handling).
I'm an Access/VBA programmer new to vb.net. In Access I can do this using the controls collection of form, but I can't figure out how or even if I can do it with vb.net.
I want to change this:
'tcpWeek(x) is a tab control page My.Forms.frmBookMain.tcpWeek1.Text = "Mytext1" My.Forms.frmBookMain.tcpWeek2.Text = "Mytext2"
I have an application that i have developed which requires me to run a method in one of the classes on a timely basis. Basically, calling the method at an interval.I can do this if there's only a single object, but the number of objects that i have to create depends on the number of entries in a table. I was wondering if it's possible to add timer control dynamically and make the tick even call objects' methods at an interval.
I am trying to create a program, where the user click a button and this will add a custom control and then drag and drop them on the form.
What I want to be able to do is add multiple controls (by clicking this button) and for them all to have the same events. So basically they can add as many as they like of this control and then click on it and drag it anywhere.I know in vb6 there was the use of the control index but I am not sure how to do this in Visual Studio 2005?
The problem is the class="pass_section" in the xsl. I need to set that value dynamically in the VB code (meaning put a run-time value in the xml to set it).
I have table .I need to create a Organization chart dynamically using activex or Visio components and display it in my appplacation usingr vb.net programming
Code: Public Class Form1 Dim NPB As Button Dim x As Integer
[code]....
As you can see, when I open a program from my menu, a new button will be created with text similar to this, "C:Program ". The button it self will not do anything. How can I create the method at the same time the button it is for is created? Also how can I change the text do that it gives me, for example, CCleaner.exe instead of the whole target path?
I can usually find the answers to most of my questions via the Google Gods, but not this time.I have a form that has a TabPageControl and on that page a collection of labels and text boxes via a usercontrol.
On the form I have a button that allows the user to create a new tabpage, when the code adds a new page, it automatically adds the UserControl collection. I can't get my head around how to access the objects on the newly created tabpage.
What I need to be able todo is take the index of the tabpage that has focus and translate that against the UerContol name, but I havn't a clue how to do it!
I am adding a grid of buttons to a form at run-time, and all of then use the same Handler. My question is : Is there any way I canadd the TextBox at run-time ?I know how to but without it on the form, the IDE isn't very happy about the "MyClick" Sub - TextBox1 is not declared......
' some logic here to make nice rows and Columns of buttons ' with different .Text and .Name Me.Controls.Add(btn)
How can I dynamically add DLL files to a application?
I made an application that searches for DLLs in a folder. I want the app to run the "GetVersion()" function in the "StartModule" module in the every DLL that it finds. How can I do it?
Could I make it, so the DLL would run in a separate thread?
I am trying to write some code that will allow me to dynamically load DLLs into my application, depending on an application setting. The idea is that the database to be accessed is set in the application settings and then this loads the appropriate DLL and assigns it to an instance of an interface for my application to access.
This is my code at the moment:
Dim SQLDataSource As ICRDataLayer Dim ass As Assembly = Assembly. _ LoadFrom("M:MyProgsWebServiceDynamicAssemblyLoadingSQLServerinDebugSQLServer.dll")
I'm trying to add rows dynamically to a System.Web.UI.WebControls.Table control in ASP.NET. I found some sample code that does what I'm seeking, but it only adds a single row. It seems like the table row count does not carry from one page load to the next. The user should be able to add as many rows as desired, and I need to capture the data from each row.
What am I missing? Code below.
<%@ Page Language="VB" %> <script runat="server"> Sub btnAddEmail_Click(ByVal Sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Dim tr As New TableRow Dim tcLabel As New TableCell
I'm dynamically adding an event handler on a link button, first when the page is load o create a link button with product category. On clicking the product category it fires an event and passes the product-id IN sender object.
Here is my problem: when i readd the event handler on page load it's giving an error cannot cast sender object
I have a GUI that is processing data from our shop floor. In order to communicate with external programs, we are using MSMQ to process messages. Each interface we have to an external program, we are currently creating a class file with only properties, calling the class in the GUI, setting the properties, then sending the class object to MSMQ for processing. The class is serialized as an XML file, and the queue watcher can pick up the class, deserialize it process the messages without any problem.Currently we have identified three interfaces, developed the classes for them and this is working great. As more interfaces are identified moving forward, I would like to avoid having to add the classes to the GUI front end for each interface.I would like to create a DLL for each interface (again only with properties) that could be dynamically loaded and discover the properties for the class. The GUI could then set the properties for the class and process the message. One property each class will have is the name of the interface. This will be a readonly property that will the queue watcher know which interface to use. In order to make this dynamic, I could create some tables in our database that would contain the name of the interface and cross reference the properties in the DLL with parameters in the GUI. This way the GUI would only call one DLL that would be embedded in the GUI, it would call the database to get the parameters needed for the interface, match them from the GUI and create the message.
1.What is the best way to dynamically load DLL's using VB 2008?
2.Does this sound like a good proposal?
3.My intent is to have the GUI re-compiled as little as possible to minimize the impact on the shop floor when new interfaces are created.
