Give The User The Option Of Using A Password And Sign-in Or Not?
Mar 21, 2012I am working on an application that I want to give the User the option of using a password and sign-in or not. I have added three items to the "Settings" , these are:
1) SignInRequired (True or False)
2) UserID (string)
3) Password (string)
My problem is that I'm not sure where I should put the code. Should I use a module and set it as the opening form, or shall i put the code in the first form the viewer sees, which I tried and due to other situations the form has several different appearances, a this is causing a problem.

May 17, 2011I am developing one desktop application using vb.net 2008 and Microsoft SQL Server 2005. fetching the data from database between a given range.
the date field in my table is of type VARCHAR(25) and the date format stored is dd-mm-yyyy. when I using the between clause in the SQL query then it is not giving all the data every time i.e. the date criteria in where clause is not working fine.
while my clients requirement is to keep the date format as dd-mm-yyyy and fetch the data according to the given range.
I search on the forum and found many queries to fetch the data by converting or type casting the date field within sql query but nothing worked.
The table structure that I am using is as follows

Excel Or CSV File As Datasources In VS 2005?
Nov 21, 2008I'm having some trouble setting up binding sources to these types of files, not sure if I'm selecting the correct driver in the wizard. Tried the generic ODBC and .NET drivers but it doesn't work, the dataset is created and adds a table but there's no data retrieved. The design object being used to display the table is a datagridview. Can't find documentation on dealing with files, only databases.

But, I can't seem to write back to the existing file. I keep on getting a null reference error when I try to send new data to the file.The function I am using will run once, but when it returns to the main form, I lose the values of xlApp and xlWorksheet. It appears that going in to the function makes the original values null.

where 'filename' is the name of the file.However I am getting the following error message:
Message = "Old format or invalid type library. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80028018 (TYPE_E_INVDATAREAD))"
I originally developed an application where I used the above code with default language setting of "English" (under regional and language settings). When I am changing the language setting to "French", the above errror comes up. I am changing the language setting to French in order to simulate an error when this application is run in a French version computer.

Nov 8, 2010I dont know that this is the right thread to ask doubt about windows service.But it is very urgent. I am helpless. So i am coming to this forum. I am using windows services. I have one exe file(MFC application). Using windows service i am calling this exe file like
System.Diagnostic.Process.Start(Path); When services run the exe is opened but the callback function is not running. I give a AfxMessagebox inside the exe file. In local it is executed.But when call from services it is not fired. The function is not executed.

The program has to tell the customer how much interest they'll be charged and the loan they take out.I've created a file that Adds,deletes,edits customer. Also views all customers. The problem I have is that after I've added the customer. I need to now implement the calculations into my program to then give them the quote. Also need to add a password to the program.
