VS 2005 Want To Load Some HTML Into A WebBrowser Control

May 18, 2011

I want to load some HTML into a webBrowser control, then operate a particular bit of code when it has finished loading.The code operates fine as long as I pause to wait for it to finish loading. If I just run the code without pausing, it sometimes messes up the display. webBrowser.Document Completed doesn't run after Document.write.I don't want to use webBrowser.DocumentText = "..." because that makes an annoying click sound every time it refreshes. A lot of people are annoyed by this. There are countless threads asking how to turn off the click, and using .write seems to be the only solution that doesn't require hacking the registry.

Save Word Document To HTML

Jan 8, 2009

I need to write some code that opens a Word Document and then either extracts the data so that a HTML document can be created or simply resaves it as an HTML document. I've had a quick look around the net and tried adding an Object Reference to Microsoft Word Object X.0 Library to my Project. So that I could play around with things, but immediately It was telling me the following weren't defined.

Dim objWdApp As Word.Application
Dim objWdDoc As Word.Document
Dim objwdRange As Word.Range

Could anyone either explain what kind of thing I would need to do or link me to some useful tutorial.

Select Characters In HTML Document Displayed In WebBrowser Control?

Jul 1, 2009

I wrote a VB.Net application that displays HTML help files according to user's search results.A user types some keywords and receives a list of HTML help files containing these keywords.When a list item is selected the HTML file is displayed in WebBrowser control.The problem is that I cannot mark the keywords in the displayed HTML file. I need to highlight them like in a standard Help. I tried many options and nothing works.If I change HTML element style manually (background color for a specific string) all pictures attached to this page are not displayed. After "Refresh" operation the pictures are displayed but the text selection is not enabled.I hope there is a standard function for this operation but I cannot find it.

VS 2005 : Load An XML Document Or Its Nodes?

Nov 4, 2010

What would be the fastest way to put XML nodes in memory? I can use generics, arrays, list arrays and so on but how to get the nodes first? All of the following are taking too long:

XmlDocument.Load
XmlDataDocument (used it by accident)
XPath.XPathDocument("path")

I can loop through 500 000 Nodes and get the 30 000 uniques in less than a second instead of 3 hours previously but loading the nodes takes whole 20 seconds. Never thought this would be the bottleneck.

VS 2005 Loading HTML Into HTMLDocument Without Using Webbrowser Control?

Aug 17, 2009

Is it possible to load HTML content into the HTMLDocument object without having to use the WebBrowser control? I have an html file stored locally that I want to parse in order to find out which checkboxes are on and which are off.

All of the examples I've found use the Webrowser. It just seems convoluted to have to use the WebBrowser in order to get to a DOM object.

Extract An Html Fragment From An Html Document?

Dec 8, 2010

I'm looking for an efficient means of extracting an html "fragment" from an html document. My first implementation of this used the Html Agility Pack. This appeared to be a reasonable way to attack this problem, until I started running the extraction on large html documents - performance was very poor for something so trivial (I'm guessing due to the amount of time it was taking to parse the entire document).[code]...

Html - VB Basic RegEx - Save Value From An Input Tag In HTML Source Code

Feb 16, 2011

I am trying save a value from an input tag in some HTML source code. The tag looks like so:

<input name="user_status" value="3" />

I have the page source in a variable (pageSourceCode), and need to work out some regex to get the value (3 in this example). I have this so far: [Code] Which works fine most of the time, however this code is used to process source code from multiple sites (that use the same platform), and sometimes there are other attributes included in the input tag, or they are in a different order, eg:

<input class="someclass" type="hidden" value="3" name="user_status" />

I just dont understand regex enough to cope with these situations.

Excel Workbook In A Webbrowser Does Not Prompt For Save On Closing Of Webbrowser

Oct 1, 2009

I am utilizing a webbrowser control in vb.net 2005 to display excel workbooks

We are using this control to open excel documents. Webbrowser.ShowSaveAsDialog() allows the user to save the excel workbook open at any location he wants

However, I don't want the user to decide where to save. Is there any way to save an excel document from the webbrowser control without going through the ShowSaveAsDialog?

On closing of webbrowser, a simple prompt to user whether he/she would like to save changes should be fine enough

As of now, I can close webbrowser control and it does not prompt the user to save the changes. Actually, all changes are lost until and unless I perform a save (Ctrl+S) manually

Parsing Links Out Of A HTML Document?

Sep 1, 2009

I've been programming in VB.NET 2005, 2008 and now 2010 for almost 2 years. Just casual little applications, nothing big.In this project I need to parse links from a web page, it doesn't quite work though, it parses the names only and no links.I'll give you my code, let's say for a random page:

Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
TextBox1.Multiline = True
WebBrowser1.Navigate("http:www.buyfixuse.com")

[code]....

If I activate this function in my application instead of links to the two blog posts on that website, it only gives out the text that is related to these links - (more...)
