VS 2005 Save XML Nodes As Individual Xml Files With .Net?
Aug 12, 2009
I have an xml file with 11 identical nodes called <customer> (they are separate records from the DB extracted earlier). Each holds complete xml document you can say.Is there any way to loop through the each <customer> node and save everything that is between each <cutomer> </customer> as a separate xml file?
I have never worked with datagridview before. I need to know how to use it so i can use it in my (calculator) program. I would like to know how to make columns, rows, linking the cells in the table/grid to textboxes so values entered into the textboxes (on the calculator) after pressing save goes straight to the table.
I'm using VS2010 Express. I have a VB.net project, where I need to find the metadata of individual files; Artist, Author, Comments, etc. (Specifically I need to find the video length in time of .wtv files). I have searched, but could only find VB6 examples and other code snippets that simply didn't work as they required some retired com or dll to do it. How do I do it in the latest VB.net? NOT VB6, C# or anything else. VB.Net in Visual Studio 2010 Express.
My requirement is that, I have a folder containing some pdf files. These files are named as 1,2,3 ..so on. I have a table where I store the pdf file name with a user
I need a vb code (preferably) to send a mail to all the users with appropriate file associated to them meaning each user will get a mail containing one file which was assigned to him.
Private Sub SaveAsToolStripMenuItem_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles SaveAsToolStripMenuItem.Click timedate.Stop()[code]......
The problem is that if I save a file I get "myfile.GDL" if I overwrite that I get a new file "myfile.GDL.GDL" ect.the other problem being that the filtering in the windows save/open dialog wont show .GDL files unless I select "all files".
I'm using VB 2010 Express. I'd like to ask about tree nodes - in my application, the user can change the nodes and add more. When I leave the application, I would like to return and for the new nodes to still be there. I've tried My.Settings, but I've decided there must be another way to do it in a file. For each node, I need to save the key and text, and reload it next time.
I have a form that searches the computer for a particular .xml file that will have the same name in different folder dates. Set in this format[code]...
So I have a code atm that has 2 combo boxes, one to select the make, then it will enable the model, I have 3 model choices, here's code: [code] Once I have selected my model of the car, it takes me to that specific form with a picture of that model, I then want to display individual parts, with individual prices that will add up in a text box above.
What would be the fastest way to put XML nodes in memory? I can use generics, arrays, list arrays and so on but how to get the nodes first? All of the following are taking too long:
XmlDocument.Load XmlDataDocument (used it by accident) XPath.XPathDocument("path")
I can loop through 500 000 Nodes and get the 30 000 uniques in less than a second instead of 3 hours previously but loading the nodes takes whole 20 seconds. Never thought this would be the bottleneck.
For every Item there is an arbitrary number of paymentMethod nodes, at least one, possibly several.How do I select all paymentMethod nodes within a given item into an XmlNodeSet? Presumably using the selectnodes method, but with what argument?
Dim Payment_nodes As XmlNodeList = current_item("Item").SelectNodes(????)
I want to create a simple treeview from a database table. It is going to be recursive and I want for each item to show the description and in the background of each item hold a key value. Then when the user selects a node I can use that key value to select the data.
i want to select specific nodes of a xml document.Everything is ok until the document has an xml namespace. Then when i try to select the specific nodes no node is being returned.. This is because an xml namespace is declared. Is there a way to select those nodes and ignore the xml namespace ?
Do you have a sweet solution in VB (visual studio 2008) to read an OWL file and display nodes on a treeview? It works great for XML but not for OWL when nodes are like as follow: [Code]
I've been trying make a mdi notepad that can start up new instances of a "note" which is unique from the other notes as in you can save/change/cut/ copy/ paste in the individual notes without changing the properties of the other notes..something like a tabbed notepad but instead of tab control i have a mdi container. but i can't make it work. [code] problem with it is that whatever you cut/copy/paste in one mdi container richtextbox, it automatically cuts/copies/pastes in the other richtextbox controls in the other containers..
I am "weeks new" to visual basic 2008 but I was hoping that someone might tell me how I can open an image in whatever type of "visible" graphics window (always positioned at: x=0 y=0); move to some "definable position" of interest x=(n) y=(n); change the brightness of that "individual pixel" by some "definable means of measure" from its original state; and save the new image as a separate image file?
Displaying an image in front of a node's caption of a treeview. i have an imagelist that contains of images and a treeview containing of nodes. I have also assigned the name of the ImageList control to the ImageList property of the TreeView control, as you can see in the following code. here is the structure of my treeview: Code: even i know that by using the image index and the selected index property i can display the images in front of the node caption of a treeview but i cant do it properly and having a few confusions.
I'm all new to this treeview business. I have a fixed treeview, very simple and basic. Only two levels, parent and child nodes. I just need two things out of this treeview.
1) If parent is checked, check all child nodes.
2) If just one child node is unchecked, uncheck parent node.
That's it! I've been looking for this for 30 mins and I cant find it. Maybe because my vb.net is old, it doesnt seem to be the same as others =/ I'm using vb.net 2003.
Is the following possible in one XPath expression (see sample below) Select all (span tags of class msg) AND all ((img tags that have a non-empty alt attribute) AND (are NOT located inside a span tag of class msg))
I am trying to save multiple text files using a save dialog.
I can save one textbox
SaveFileDialog1.ShowDialog() Dim File As System.IO.File Dim Write As System.IO.StreamWriter Write = File.CreateText(SaveFileDialog1.FileName) Write.WriteLine(TextBox1.Text) Write.Close()
but I don't know how to save multiple textboxes and richtext boxes. Would I have to use a screenwriter for this?
I want to develop an application which can Write, Save, Read text files(or html files) What I want the application to do is. When I open my application I can write stuffs and then it will save it to my hosting/server. Then, the application will read the text which I already save.. So far, I can only make the application read it by using WebBrowser control and navigating it to a specified URL. Example: [URL](or message.txt) Which I modified from the website not from the application. I want to modify the text or html files from my application.
I am trying to find a way to allow my users to choose the directory to save files into, THe file name is automatically generated as it has a naming convention and i am able to pre program a location to save to but i d like to be able to allow my users to decide themselves which directory they want to save the files to and to have the ability to choose which directory to save to
I'm running out of walls to bang my head against. Okay new windows form with a textbox, button and TreeView Populate the TreeView.nodes with the default nodes via properties

I want to click button1 and have the name of the childnode? Node3? placed in the textbox. Not via selection, I can do that. But via index or item number. The code I have is as follows
I have many applications that create TLB files which I guess are so that vb2005 can comunicate with the DLL files. Now what I would like to do is have all my TLB files in one folder and have my application point to that folder to use them.The problem I am having is that my EXE will not run unless all the TLB files are in the same folder as the EXE. I do not want this. I want to put some code into my file that sais that the tlb files it needs are located in say: [code] and still have it work. again right now they all have to be in the same folder which is really bugging me.
