I have ComboBoxes on my form that have two functions.Editable / AutoComplete - SuggestAppend Non Editable. If the ComboBox is not editable, I am looking to set the SelectedIndex = 0 but not to set any SelectedIndex if the ComboBox is editable/AutoComplete. I have this in the BindingNavigatorAddNewItem_Click event but it has no effect! I also tried placing mycombo.selectedindex = 0 in the BindingSource "AddingNew" event but this also has no effect. I have discovered that the "selectedindex" is somehow inexplicably changing itself back to -1 As an experiment I added a button to the form and on the click event pasted "mycombo.selectedindex = 1".I added a newrecord then clicked this button and the combobox updated as expected. I have four comboboxes in my Ist form related to course as.c_type,c_stream,c_major,c_nature.......combobox c_type contains the type of courses like degree,diploma, PG etc,similarly "c_stream" contains stream like engg,medical etc. further c_major contains all courses like computer engg(CE),mechnical(ME), physiotherapy etc. and last c_nature has course nature whether regular or private or distance.Now situation is when i select diploma from c_type, corresponding options must be populate in c_stream like engg. And now when i select engg., CE or ME must be there in c_major combobox .Same is for C_nature.The all 4 combobox must show "please select" text on form load event..i also have 2nd form where i have same combobxs. so is there any way to call the same code without again writing that to 2nd form.

I wanted to put a checkedlistbox in a groupbox with just one item showing and in the mouse enter event show more items by making the height of the checkedlistbox bigger. The problem is, if it gets to a certain height, it disapears at the bottom of the groupbox because thats its parent.
Is there a way of it showing beyond the boundaries of the groupbox ?

I have a form with 4 comboboxes and a button. The first combobox is enabled, but the rest of the controls are disabled. When the form is opened I fill the first combobox (cbxMethod) with a datatable. When the user selects something in cbxMethod the next combobox (cbxStudy) will be filled and so on. When the last combobox (cbxAnalyte) has a selected value I want to enable the button and give it focus so the user can move forward with the program. I basically want to force the user to move from one combobox to the other, until all are filled.I am currently using the SelectionValueChange event, but this event only fires when the user changes the value with their mouse or hits the Enter key, not when the user hits the Tab key.

I have a DevExpress (version 9.2) TreeList that by default displays a menu containing sort ascending/descending, column chooser, and best fit when you right-click on the header of the tree.
How would I add more choices to this default menu?

View 1 RepliesI have a menu which when clicked will load form which take quite sometimes (although not very long) but the user keeps on clicking the menu and so the "not responding" message appears on the title bar of the app. I am thinking of displaying "Loading....Please Wait" so that users will stop clicking the menu or will wait until the loading of the form is completed. I tried these code but the form is still displayed even if form has loaded completely. I'm developing a windows application using vb.net (VS 2005 and windows XP) I've set images (transparent png files) to buttons.I do it importing images into the resources of the project I could do it for most of the buttons of this project, but today I noticed new images I set, not showing in run time. In the development form I can see all images on buttons, but when I run the application, buttons with new images are missing. This happens to the new images I import and set as button images. I tried few times new images I set are not showing.

I have created a series of custom user controls for a wizard interface that I am making. Each user control represents one step in the wizard and really shouldn't be used outside of the wizard. The thing that is bugging me is that each wizard step user control shows up in the toolbox of components to insert into a form.
Is it possible to hide a user control from the toolbox? Better yet is it possible to hide a user control from other classes not in the same namespace of an assembly? Is this a good approach or should I think of a different approach?
Regarding my college project. i'm working on a sales system . i have a form which consist of all the following information( item code , item name , item price , quantity of item ) which is display using a data grid . data input by user using text box and all this information will be stored in a database(sales database) i'm using ms access 2007. the grand total will be displayed in a text box . and amount paid will be input in a text box too , my major problem now is how to i create a reciept that will have all this information of the purcase. i have a reciept button . what the next step ? i dont have any idea how to get the reciept done.
