VS 2005 Button Image (.PNG) Not Showing At Runtime?

I'm developing a windows application using vb.net (VS 2005 and windows XP) I've set images (transparent png files) to buttons.I do it importing images into the resources of the project I could do it for most of the buttons of this project, but today I noticed new images I set, not showing in run time. In the development form I can see all images on buttons, but when I run the application, buttons with new images are missing. This happens to the new images I import and set as button images. I tried few times new images I set are not showing.

I know this may sound really stupid, however, I really do not know. Though I have been programming with VB2005 for about the last 4 years or so, I have never used toolstrip at all. Just simply never has a need to, until now. So, I tried it by simply clicking it in the toolbox, which is simple enough, and choose the toolstrip button for the toolstrip as well. I change the button image to the image I have and want, which seems to be piece of cake operation. Everything looks good in design time. However, when I ran the program, I have the toolstrip simply look blank (no show of the button or the image at all)! The button was there alright, as when I clicked it, it responded. However, it just simply not visible at all, nor the image. When I ran my mouse over it, it did change color (which I guess indicate it is there), but no image either.

Suppose if the user selects an image which is bigger than the size of the button, then i want it to autosize the image so that it fits the button I am providing an OpenFileDialog to the user to select the image for the button

How do I set button1.image to the image resource named in a string?
if my_string = "image1" then
button1.image = my.resources.image1
else if my_string = "image2" then
button1.image = "image2"
...

Is there an easier way to do this?

I have a very simple setup, single mycontrol.ascx with assoicated mycontrol.ascx.designer.vb and mycontrol.ascx.vb file.
mycontrol.ascx embeds a single reference to a custom control: "MyMenu":
<mM:myMenu id="myMenu1" runat="server" />
This has created a protected reference in the mycontrol.ascx.designer.vb file:
Protected WithEvents myMenu1 As Global.CustomControls.MyMenu
Now, when I breakpoint the Page_Load() event of mycontrol.ascx, and inspect the members returned from the type via:
Me.GetType().GetMembers()
I cannot any reference to myMenu1. If I look at the control with intellisence, the property is accessible:
Me.myMenu1
what I'm missing and what I need to do to access designer created properties at runtime through reflection?

i am creating a table in vb.net code (htmltable) with htmltablerows and htmltablecell. I gave on image control but thatr control cant have the .imageurl property, which i need cause i have a handler image.ashx which brings image from the database.
heres' the code -

on the last line, "img.ImageUrl" i get this error -'ImageUrl' is not a member of 'System.Web.UI.HtmlControls.HtmlImage'how do i fix this?

I'm trying to update pictures boxes with images of controls stored in an imagelist owned by a control. The images stored in the control.imagelist do not showup in the picturebox. The program starts. When I click the Start button the original form disappears just as I intended, but then it just hangs there. No picture shows up. The CPU heats up and gets louder. It freezes and I sometimes have to CTRL+ALT+DELETE just to exit the program.[code]

I have a form with 2 radio buttons where the "checked" property is false, yet when the form loads the first radio button is selected. I tried .refresh and no positive results... Grrr! o I've had to reinstall both the .net and visual studios 2010 to get back to being able to program my game, yet this strange issue is still in existence...all of a sudden, like 4 hours prior to not being able to program anymore, I ran into the issue of my login form FRMlogin.vb not running upon clicking the button that sends you to its page... it will not show up for some unknown reason, and both me and my programming buddy cannot figure out what is going wrong here. I restarted my computer twice now since reinstalling visual studios 2010 express, and the same issue is here...here is the code for the forms

I was playing around with designing a custom interface for a test application and I am using a custom image for a close button. I am using the FlatStyle properties to define it's look'n'feel. I've set the border to 0 but when the application loses focus, the border of the button shows up.I have tried to force the property to go 0 again when the application's "LostFocus" event is captured but doesn't work.I am also using a "rollover" method using MouseHover and MouseLeave events to change the image of the button.Using Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition.

I have a menu which when clicked will load form which take quite sometimes (although not very long) but the user keeps on clicking the menu and so the "not responding" message appears on the title bar of the app. I am thinking of displaying "Loading....Please Wait" so that users will stop clicking the menu or will wait until the loading of the form is completed. I tried these code but the form is still displayed even if form has loaded completely. [Code] I like to use the same concept also when the user clicked the save button, to tell the user to wait while changes are being saved.

I want to be able to show a different usercontrol in a single container depending on a criteria, something like

I've been searching for hours tonight searching existing posts, other websites and all i can find are examples of how to capture a image from a webcam.Does anyone have any code that simple talks to the camera device via WIA, and then saves every image found on the device to a hard drive?I found this code below. Credit i cant tell you as i have a bunch of different flavors of code, but this only saves the file as a tmp file, and not the actual image file i expected after selecting?
