Dynamically Assign ReportViewer To .rdlc
Mar 10, 2008I have a form with a single Report Viewer control on it. I wish to use this single form to display ALL of my application's reports. I am looking for a method that will allow me to assign the rdlc file / table adapter and rebind the datasource at runtime. I've tried various methods but cannot get it working. It sounds simple enough but is now driving me crazy!!

I have a separate form that allows the user to add/update/delete data. My problem is when the user makes changes to the data using the data entry form, the report does not reflect those changes. I have to close the entire program and reopen it before the changes take effect on my report. This piece is used to bound the report to the dataset

Jan 22, 2009I'm trying to retrieve data from an access database, but I'm trying to do it all in VB. Basically I need to query the database, and I think I've done that correctly. But then I need to assign the value in a certain field, to a variable. So for example,

dbDataSet4 is a typed dataset. I want to learn how to use an Interface. The error message is suggesting using an IList. How would I do this. I'm having trouble finding good documentation on this.
VS 2005 ReportViewer Grouping?
Jan 5, 2010I am making a report using the reportviewer. I have grouped the data and the group works. But when I try to put some data in the group header, I get the following error:The Value expression for the textbox Dep_Name refers to the field Dep_Name. Report item expressions can only refer to fields within the current data set scope or, if inside an aggregate, the specified data set scope.
The data I am trying to display is from a different table then the one that I am using to group the data. Does this mean there is a problem with the relationship between the tables?

Deatailed: I am entering production details into the database (access 2007) .it will add successfully.Then i open production report there is no current updated data.It will show when i close the vb 2005 and reopen it.

Jul 8, 2008I'm trying to determine if a user has printed a report from the ReportViewer control, so I can write the date/time and username to a database table as part of an audit trail.When the user opens a report there is a print button, which calls up a standard print dialog box.However I can't find any way to determine whether the print button has been clicked or not. The reportviewer has a Print event, but this is no good as it's called before the print dialogue is displayed.

Jan 6, 2011I have 2 tables Table A & Table B Table A has the table values that I want to be populated in a datagridview control.The challenge is that column 1 in table A contains an ID(foreign key) to a name field that is a located in table B. I need the datagrid to have the first column be a combobox that displays the names(from Table B) that are already in table A via the ID's, but reference the populating values from Table B. So that when you bring down the combobox you would be choosing from Table B data but populating table A with the ID and you would see a name there instead of an ID.[code] How do I populate my DS dataset with Table B? And how can I create a link to these two tables using a bound datagridview control?

Aug 5, 2009ReportViewer is a component I use frequently. Imagine my surprise in VS2010 when I find that a project MUST use the 4.0 framework choice or the toolbox will not display the component. I am trying to use a 2.0 project for compatability reasons. No matter how I try to reference the WinReportViewer it will not work unless I update the project for 4.0 framework.MS, I don't understand what this means for upgrade path for old projects being opened in VS2010. We are a VS2008 shop and it would be horrible to upgrade a bunch of projects to 2010 only to find that ReportViewer is no longer supported by 2.0 framework.
