I am Working Windows Appl .Net08.My DB is Access Db.The below image is from Access DB only.In the image the table called Contacts having one of the column called 'ContactMedium'. In this Column having values like 'Mobile' , 'email'.Now i want to saperate these values and create new columns in the same table.How can make these values as a new columns ?If i create Crosstab Query it giving error like Value type is not Aggr.

Both ExecuteNonQuery() actions yields the exception message {"Syntax error in field definition."}The error message does not happen with the first if the boolean column is not there (I tried Tes/No as a definition - but that also failed.The second query to modify the ID column from autonumber to integer I assume fails because it is a Primary KeyHas?

Since I already exclude value based on 1 column called CATEGORY, how do I change my =Sum(Code.ExcludeOthers(Fields!CATEGORY.Value,Fields!ACTION_PLAN_NEW.Value)) to exclude a value from the PROGRESSION column if it's = ("Awaiting Progression") ?

I wonder if it is possible to find a specific row and specific columns in data base file (Access) . You see , I am using a DataGridView control to show only SOME of the columns (fields) of a table from an Access file . For example , lets say that in the DataGridView control I only show the following fields :Field1 , Field2 and Field3 .Now , when the user selects an entry in the DataGridView control , I want to insert the text from Field4 into a text box on the form .
The problem , however , is that I don't know how to get the specific row in the data base file and also I don't know how to get the text in column (field) Field4 of that row .One thing that might be important is that the index of the row in the data base file is not necessarily the same with the index of the current row in the DataGridView control . This is because in the DataGridView control the rows are order by the contents in the ID Field .ol .
i am working in windows appl vb.net 08. And i am working in Access DataBase.I have one Table Called "Person" . In this "Person" Table one Column Name Called "OtherName". In this Column binded in one of the Combobox in a Form.But the Problem is "OtherName" Column having the Null Values.Before i bind this Column to Combobox i want to convert this NULL Values to String. Why i need the values in STRING means , In my code i using this Combobox as a filter in SQL Query.If i didn`t change the Null Value to STRING , The Combobox SelectedText or SelectedValue is Showing Nothing. So i am not able to get the Record.
Whn i write a Sql Query to Combobox and apply filter in WHERE statement like Combobox.Selectedtext or Combobox.SelectedValue In "Selected Change Committed Event" then i should get the record in the Output right but unfortunatly i am not getting the Record. The Record Count in DebugPrint showing 0.

Using VBA code to automate the process, I need to calculate the total for each month of each account number where the 2 left characters of the cost centre are the same. I have a formula which will calculate this (for one cost centre grouping/account) which looks like this:
I am not sure whether there is a more efficient way than using a formula like that (at the moment this would be used for 12 months on about 6 cost centre groupings with about 500 accounts each - though this would vary). Its not massive, but could be slow to calculate. I don't think the subtotals command is powerful enough, and I haven't used arrays for a long time (especially for what would appear to need a dynamic, mulch-dimensional array).

I am using data grid view in Windows Form standalone application to display items as excel spread sheet in VB.NET. I got a table named CostTypes with column names [CostTypeID, CostType] and values [1,External] and [2,Internal] (These are constant but more values can be added to table).

So I have my database, my registration page, everything looks fine in my code, but there's a syntax error I can't seem to figure out.
