Nov 1, 2011Hey guys, I'm a new guy in VB.NET. I am proposing my final year project a title called music studio. My version of music studio is like real music video where we can play many sound at any time. For example, the application that I want to build can create many button and also add an audio along with it. And then, when we hit the 1st button, it play 1st audio. while 1st audio play, we also can hit 2nd button and 2nd audio is playing. for example, 1st audio is sound of man walking, and then 2nd audio is the sound of glass break. lastly 3rd sound sound of police siren play. Is it cool? so, my question is, is it possible the I can build an application by using VB.NET?

Jan 25, 2011I created another form that had a pic and two simple buttons, one button plays music the other will stop the music if played and take you back to the previous form. My problem lies in when the users uses the windows "x" button to flose the form, the music does not stop. I have searched and failed and light that could be shed would be awesome.Apparently I saved the wrong file and am not on my VB box so this code is incorrect. I basically added the music to the resources, dim'd it and activated it with a button. The other button not listed in this code was set to "portal.stop()" and "Me.Close()"

VS 2008 - Adding ObjectListView Control To Form
Mar 21, 2010I have added a freshly compiled ObjectListView.DLL to my VB.NET project and I've added a ObjectListView control to my form. But, thus far I have been unable to do anything with it except make it throw exception errors of various kinds. I know I'm not supposed to use it using the same syntax that ListView uses, but the documentation for this control is as well developed as MSDN's for ListView--which is to say vague to nonexistent. I can't use ListView because it gives me no control over row height and cell padding. Both need to be minimal, but with the defaults used by ListView, you could move in and and make a living between the entries. Too much space. I need things compact because the application I'm developing needs all the real estate it can get for other purposes.

Nov 10, 2010I have a form that I will be using to keep track of data for computers I build and will eventually link into a database for configuration management, but for right now I'm just trying to get the basic form layout done and functional. I need this for to be customized for each job I do, that means I can have multiple computers, PC card, peripheral equipment, etc. So with that said basically what I have done is created a user control for each separate item that I want to add (i.e. computer, PC card, etc) that has all the fields and functions I require. When I want to add another computer I just add a tab and place my "computer" user control on it, no big deal...
My issue is when I want to add my "PC card" user control to that "computer" user control. What I am trying to do is to add the first user control(PC Card Info) I created under a button called "Add New PC Card" (which is part of the "computer" user control.)and that part works! What I want to do is keep added as many "pc card"user controls as I need and basically keep appending them under the last control on the bottom of the page (which is the "pc card" user control, that is a groupbox with a few drop down boxes and text boxes in it.)with a little spacing between them. The biggest problem I am having is when I add the first "PC Card" user control, it works.. but when I try to add another one and search the current page for all user controls under a certain point or with a specific name, I don't get any results.
I think I'm on the right track with the following code but I am running into 2 things I can't do that are critical to my needs. 1: I need to define the text of the user control I just added so I can uniquely identify it, so If I need to remove it I can and will also play a role later( I thought if there was some way in code to make my control # a variable that may work) 2: I need to know what to look for since I have a count that represents how many of that particular control exist on my form, that way I can name them properly, this will also allow me a method to delete the user control if desired.

Feb 7, 2010I am having trouble adding a row to a databound datagridview on a parent form from a child form. I have two forms, one contains a datagridview that is bound to a table using 'datagridviewbindingsource' and contains an 'add' button. The second contains a checked listbox that is populated correctly and has a "Cancel" and an 'OK' button - when i check several items in the child form, i would like to hit okay and update the bindingsource of the datagridview on the first form with the checked items.

Mar 24, 2011As Autodesk is going to discontinue VBA for their Inventor product in the near future I have been looking at other ways to run VB.NET in Inventor. To date it doesn't look like VSTA will be the replacement. Automation from an External VB.NET app is certainly possible, but leaves something to be desired for speed and integration. Compiled Add Ins are the Cadillac of choice but can be a royal pain to debug and develop. Autodesk now provides a lightweight VB.NET script interface called iLogic. It's main purpose is to allow extreme customization of Solid Modeling parts. The code actually resides inside the Part Model file.

It's a very basic app with only one form and I can add the control in design mode but it does not appear on the form in run mode and is on the verge of driving me nuts.
