I need to find out how Weekdays there are between two days.how can i do this? I know i can not just divide the Amount of days by 5 (for the weeks) and then subtract (2 * Amount of weeks)' (for the weekend), because the first date may start on a Thursday.

I have this value 2.5 and i would like to put this value in a variable but without the period:

I had try Int but just return the 2, and that i want its:

so if i say want to cruise 29 miles at 12 knts it gives me an awnser of 2 hours 24.6 mins instead of 2 hours 25. Although i do realise that 2 hrs 24.6 is technicaly right i was wondering if anyone here could help me with getting it into the correct format?
im trying to make a fast food program on which the user will input the amount that he has, then he will check on what he wants, by using check boxes. There are 7 different check boxes with 7 different amounts of money. I have the program somewhat finished (thanks for the people that helped me before) but theres still a couple of things that I still need to get finished but I dont know how to.I need to be able to get how much money the user has (this will be entered threw a text box, I think I accidentally messed this part up, because I cant get it to work right, (theres alreasy a permit amount of money in there and it needs to be what the user enters instead of the permit, 5.59, one) and this will be the maximum amount he can spend, then the user will check on the food he wants (and the program will add the sales tax also) then it will produce an answer saying if you have enough money or if you dont. But what im confused on is how do I get the users amount of money and make it the maximum mount he can spend and make sure it doesnt go over the amount that he has checked.[code]

I was thinking of writing the date the application was installed in the system registry, and each time the application loads it will check if this date is over one month. However, the user could turn back the date on their computer.
Another, solution I was to have the application run some many times. For example, the user can only run 30 times. Then it will lock.

View 5 RepliesI caused the VB.NET2008 IDE to do something extremely odd and unintentional with some code I was writing. As some of you know, I mostly write programs for industrial equipment. On one of our products, I needed to make certain forms automatically close after a timeout period. To do this, I began programming a usercontrol with a Timer on it (interval = 1000) and a ProgressBar. Timer.Enabled was set to the Enabled event so I could toggle it. When the control counted to it's timeout period, it would call Me.ParentForm.Close
So I build my project, and drop it on a form in the IDE and I see it begins counting! Huh... I had no idea timers were active in the IDE. I wonder what happens when it hit's it's trigger? I figure probably nothing since Me.ParentForm was actually the designer. When it triggered, the whole IDE crashes without save. I tried it twice now. Here's my

How Do I Make Button.click Event Perform both the enter and period(del) keys on the numeric keypad? [Code] Case Keys.Enter and Case Keys.Separator do not work. Nor does anything like Keys.OEMPeriod for the period(del) key. I've also tried calling the enter key in a KeyPress event etc. But to no avail. Any ideas? I'm trying to mimic Windows calc.exe for a school project and thought I'd try throwing in a few extras such as numeric keypad functionality.

The user can specify the amount of characters the password will be and whether to randomize between the alphabets A-Z, numbers 1-10, and maybe a hand full of symbols or so, and a combination of all three options. Also the user can use the "re-generate" button if he/she does not like the current password. I'm fairly new to VB, and would just like a push in the right direction to get started.

I need to count a large amount numbers in short time.As a result the CPU jumps to 40-60% on 4-core PC.Which is extremely high.I have any idea that will lock up the thread for some time, but not actually slow or reduce the amount of files that are allowed to be counted per a giving time period.

View 6 RepliesSo basically, my program is going around the world, and it has come to my realization that certain places use commas instead of periods for decimals points. So herein lies my problem. If the computer's local language is German, then the program will accept commas, but then errors are produced with periods, and vice versa with an American computer. So my question is, is it possible to make the program permanently use periods, and then have a function that can convert any commas to periods?
View 30 RepliesI'm working on an app and in the textbox field I would like to be able to convert anytime a user would type .36 it would actually change and display 0.36, mainly I want it on the key press of the period just add a zero before it, and I need this to happen on the keydown event.. anyone have any ideas for me on how to do this? This is all I know so far...[code] One last smidget of problem too, I only want this to happen when the user types . in the beginning not if he types 4.22 with the period being after a digit.
