this does indeed update my label with the first item in the Author field in my database, but I can't for the life of my figure out how to go the next record when I click a button. Could anyone give me a quick rundown, or a good tutorial on this, I'd rather not use the built in wizards.
I have a problem with my program, and it's really bad because I need to burn it to disk within 12 hours and I can't get it to work: If I create a record, add information to it and click on Next Record, the ID, Status and Notes boxes content will change but the rest of the controls contents are carried over to the next record and I don't know why or how. It was working perfectly but now it stopped and I never done anything.

The linkbutton is adding to the grid cells correctly, but when you the click event is not firing.
there is a tab control system. It relies on only five text boxes, and their bindings change when the tab is changed The relevant information is displayed. However, if I navigate to a different record...You can see that the same information is displayed in the tab control text boxes, and not the employee's details I just selected in the data grid or the navigation. How can I fix this? I'm not sure what's gone wrong here. Here's the code that changes the text boxes upon changing tab...

i have 5 buttons in row (btn1,btn2,btn3,btn4,btn5) and 1 OK button when i click indivisually to each button of 5 buttons its color changes to red and after click on OK button the color of buttons which are red turns green the problem is that i don't know how to insert induvisual record of each button of which color is green in access database

when i click on load its working and showing the first record from the database. when im clicking at btnNext its not generating any error or warning in visual stduio 2008 and the text fields are not showing the next record?
I'm working on a VB Winform project using Visual Studio 2008. The form's controls are all bound to a bindng source and a binding navigator which are tied to a dataset class. When the form is displayed, the first record is displayed as well. However, one of the controls (Radio button) is not showing the correct data from the data set. However, if I navigate to the next record and move back to the first, the radio button properly displays the correct information, so it appears the binding source is working the way it is suppose to.

I have programmed gridview, where you Edit a row and then update it using link buttons provided on the row.But when a user has to make couple of edits on the same grid, it should be saved with one button click and one refresh to reflect updated data.
View 3 RepliesI have an Infopath form that retrieves data from a datasource, then populates a repeating table with a dynamic number of rows depending on employid. Once the data is populated, a "user" can enter numbers, times, etc. That part works fine. Now, what I would like to do is submit the data to a sql database. I just can't figure out how to navigate through each record of the repeating table. I have tried the following code, but have been unsuccessful. I can not get the XpathNodeIterator to work on the secondary datasource.

The field is bound to a datetimepicker control.The problem is if I click the Add button on the navigator a new record is displayed and the dtp shows the current date. But if I then save the record the date is not saved to the database.If I go into the dtp control and select a date, it saves the date just fine.

I tried binding the value to the button from the html, it is giving me an error which indicates binding did not work. The programming language for the form is C# How can I bind the value of Parking_ID with its button in order to pass that value to another form? and how it can be passed to the other form?

I am trying to understand how the binding navigator buttons are actually working.
I started by creating a table called "Students" in MS Access,
I then "dragged and dropped" that table onto my VB form after importing the data connection.
When I debug, I click the add new (the yellow plus "+") then I type info into my fields (700_Number, First_Name, MI, Last_Name). (700_Number=Primary Key)
After I am finished typing into the four text boxes, I click save. If I end my program then start the debugger again, the record is still there...it goes away only if I change some of the code anywhere in my program.
Also, I am trying to use the record I just put into my database for another part of my program. I use this line of code:
MsgBox(frmAddStudent.DrByrdsTaskListAppDBDataSet.Tables("Students").Rows(0))
This is just to see if what I am trying to put into my database is actually making it there. Every time I run, this message box turns up blank.
