VS 2008 ComboBox Duplicate?

I'm new to VB and as every beginner i've begun with a browser, i've added a combobox that records the current url of the website and adds it to a "history" combo box, the problem is that when i go on a site once, the site name shows up multiple times in the combobox. I was wondering if there is a code to only add a certain value only once,

I have a Combobox in a Windows form that has a DateTime value as the Display Member and the Room Number as the Value member. When the user makes a selection in the combobox, a textbox is populated with the corresponding room number. There are some instances in the combobox where there are identical Display Member values. When a user selects one of the duplicate values and moves the mouse cursor away from the combobox, the combobox always defaults to the first of the duplicate items.
Example:
Here are the values that are currently populated in the combobox:
Display Member Value Member
02/25/2010 9:00AM 1
02/25/2010 9:00AM 2
If the second listing in the combobox is selected (the item with the value member of 2), and then the user clicks away from the combobox, the value default to Value Member 1.
Is there anyway to keep duplicate display members in a combobox while keeping the proper value member selected?

I currently have a sql database linked to vb.net and I'm populating the comboboxes using SELECT statements. However, I'm getting duplicate records in the comboboxes.I have my database setup as 1 project to many submittals and 1 submittal to many items.
I have 3 projects in my sample dataset and I'll recieve 3 duplicate submittals and 3 duplicate items.
If I have 6 projects in my sample dataset than I'll get 6 duplicate submittals and 6 duplicate items.
I've tried adding distinct to my SQL statement, but that didn't do anything. Is there any reason why its showing as many duplicates as I have projects?

I'm trying to populate the list of a combobox by binding it to a datatable. Also, I want the selected value of the combobox to be bound to an object property so that when the selected value changes, it's automatically updating the object. However it's causing an error at runtime: "This causes two bindings in the collection to bind to the same property.
Parameter name: binding" I thought binding the dropdown list to a datatable and the selected value to an object were different properties but obviously I'm not getting it right.

I have a query (qryTallyMedalInformation) that i bound on datagridview and it has 5 columns ( country, athlete, medal, game and date). Instead of having country in the datagrid, I want to use it in a combobox to display records base on country selected.what i did (with wizard) doesnt work fine though. My country combobox shows duplicate data and the datagrid is showing all the records from different country. In one word I JUST DID NOTHING.

i have this sql table
Table name: Project
Fields: PrjCode, PrjName
i want to save my Project codes and name to this table, but before i will save the data from my form i want to check if the user input (PrjCode) already exist in the database. and if the prjcode exist it should not allow to save the entry since it will duplicate. (NOTE: ProjctCode is not auto number. the user will input it)

I am creating a program and calling it 'Dcrews Task Machine', And It's a Bot for some useful Info! I have googled this before searching and searched the forums!It's not a bad Bot in actual fact it is a good Bot and helpful/useful! It does tasks on your computer as you choose from a selected list or record as you wish to do! What I am trying to do here.. Wait! I should mention and include info of my Cursor so far..It is a form with a picturebox (Picture of Cursor myMake)The reason being as i want my own cursor as instead of the system cursor is it is my theme and i would like a nice cremy colored cursor to do the job/task!What I have already managed to do is make it move to places!What I wish to know is how do I make it click (I know how to make the system cursor click but not this) When it clicks i want it so it clicks from the themed app Cursor instead of the system cursor!

In my winform, i m using a datagridview.. I m also allowing to enter data through it. User has to select a product and put in price for it. for products column i have used combo box and for rate column i have used text box.I want that once user has selected a product, he is not allowed to select the same product for other rows... I mean duplicate product selection not allowed... how do I prevent it..

PS: The code I currently has only searches for "Hello" as an exact phrase whereas I need it to search for "Hello" and get the line containing "Hello" (Whether the word "Hello" is a the beginning middle or end of the line) and duplicate it.

I am looping through a file and I am populating a datagridview with values. I have this part done, and it works just fine. My problem comes in when I try to remove duplicate rows from the DataGridView. I would like the code to increment a cell if a duplicate row is found and then remove the duplicate cell. For instance if the program comes across 2 instances of "duplicated value" in the DateGridView, I would like the second instance to be removed and then a value of 1 added to the first instances row, 4th column. I understand most of it, but I just can't get the darn loop(s) working correctly. Iguess my theory is to compare the first row to the last row. if there is a duplicate, then remove the duplicate and add "1".Then I should move onto the next item from the top. This would loop until all items have been checked. I have been messing with this for a while now and I just keeps getting worse.

Having problems with a datatable which consists of multiple datalogger information. Within the datetime field there are as the name suggests listed date and times entry i.e. 12/01/11 22:56:56 ect ect.
Problem is i am graphing this and when ms chart reads the duplicate entries as a series. It doesnt like it and comes up with a slightly odd interpretation. I need to get the duplicate entries out to establish a single time series.
I was proposing to clone the original datatable and run a loop to remove the duplicates. I have been trying to do this for days and have played with a whole load of examples, without success. Can anyone point me in the right direction on this.

see this codes scrapes all href links and check if it contains "/file/" to save it but I get duplicate links saved so If i can change this code to work some how with Innertext("More") I will have no duplicatestried to configure it to work with innertext it just doesn't fit the way I think it should ;/and if anyone can add how can I remove duplicated urls on my txt file that would be really nice I might need it

For some reason my code is executing the INSERT query twice and putting duplicate records in my table. If I put a primary key on one of the fields I get a runtime error and it complains about the fact it can't add the record twice.
The part of the code that INSERTs is near the bottom, bolded and italicized. I put the entire IF statement of code incase my logic is wrong.
This is what's being executed when a user clicks a button

Basically what happens is each time it loops through it adds a number to the end of the string, and by the end I should end up with an array full of string in a format like "111 222 333 444 555 666" but I end up getting strings like this "111 111 222 222 333 333". The weird thing is, if I add a message box in every loop it works fine, but obviously I don't want a message box pooping up every time it loops through. What is causing this and how might I fix it

If there is only one item in the database, then this code works. If there is more than one record then the error is produced that it is trying to produce duplicate values. This is down to the Primary key in my database which is the only thing that cannot have duplicate values. However, when I remove the primary key it has the predictable problem that it goes crazy and does weird things.

Visual Basic 2008 rookie question. I am getting the error message 'Error 1 The item "objDebugCIT163Lab1Cdrb.WeatherReport.resources" was specified more than once in the "Resources" parameter. Duplicate items are not supported by the "Resources" parameter.CIT163Lab1Cdrb'when I debug. I am familiar with Visual Studio 2008 having used it for my previous C# course. When I isolate the following code to create a chart, the result is normal. But when I call it from a control, duplicate legend and Y-axis scales and labels appear.
I did a line-by-line comparison and detected no code differences.
1) What is the likely culprit?

I have a VB.NET project in Visual Studio 2008 that I created a specialized addin for. The addin prompts the user to select a database table, takes a template form class's files, copies them to another directory within the project, and renames the form class within the copied files. It then opens the new form and adds controls to it based on the fields in the database table.
The copying of the template form causes the background compiler to give 'duplicate member' errors, such as "Private Sub InitializeComponents(...) has multiple definitions with identical signatures," even though I renamed the files of the new form and the class name within them. Sometimes these errors go away before the new form is opened, but when they stick around the new form doesn't open correctly, and it throws an error instead. I implemented some code to wait until there are zero errors in the error list before trying to open the new form. This has helped sometimes, but for some reason sometimes the errors don't go away at all until the addin is closed.
How to copy the template form and rename the copy without the background compiler ever noticing duplicate members. If that's not possible, then perhaps someone has an alternative?
