Well, just struggeling to decice on which would suit my situation best. I am developing a simple app to show a log of radio messages. Should I display these in a listview or in a datagridview? What is the actual difference?

I had done this by using the query builder (in VS Studio) but soon found out thay I gain no points by doing it this way as I am not using any code. I have tried to adapt the code I had to insert data into my database, just changing the SQL sintaxa and some other bits, but it is not working yet. Well, it gives results, but I think it is still geting the results from the query I had built using the query builder. Here is the code I've got so far:

I want to be able to use this program to filter through a list of doctors, and based on what doctor you select, only show the patients who see that doctor.Here is what I have so far, the database has a column with just the doctor names so I thought I should be able to filter it by that and show the patients, but none show up. I don't get an error and it seems to refresh, but nothing ends up in the schedule.

Actually I just realized I don't think I loaded the data from the database as the form loaded. I tried doing that, but get an error where I called for the data to be loaded. I added the code where I try loading the databases."No value given for one or more required parameters."

I have a DataGridView (dgv) on a Windows form (VB.NET) which is bound to a datatable. One of the bound columns is a an ID (Foreign Key) to another datatable. All I want to do is Hide the ID column and populate an unbound column with the Name (ParmName) for the user. I searched the foreign value in the datatable and retrieved the information. I set the Value of the cell in the Datarow. All works well, but does not display. The cell accepts the value...I can even Debug.Print the values to the console. They are there just nothing displaying in DataGridView. Nothing odd about DataGridView. Should be straight forward...

I used the following code for retrieving a column items from access table and displaying it by using list view and it work perfectly, the problem now is that I need to add another column items to the list view ... but how? I have a problem with displaying output in listview in windows7. I am populating listview colum using OleDbDataReader from database which has value in string as "1,2,4,6,8,9,10" etc. But when I displays it in listview it appears as "10,9,8,6,4,2,1" i.e in opposite order but only in windows 7 not in XP.

This all works fine, but i have no idea how to reload this information when the form loads.Obviously it needs to read the string, the seperate the username and password.also is it possible to password char the password section in the listview? at the moment it can be read.
I have seen listview controls before that do not show any type of ID. (ie: Items in an order). So when I delete this row, how does it know which row to delete in my database? There could be many rows with the same exact data but each belonging to a different order. Would there be a hidden column with the record ID in it? If it is a hidden column, how would I go about this?

I realize it is a pretty complex post to read and will probably not get very many answers, but I really want to make the most of my Listviews...Of course, one work around is to just always use the LargeIcon which then gets scaled down automatically when the SmallImagelist is used but I am pretty sure there are icons that are very different in Large or Small view...
