Nov 29, 2009I have a combobox in my form which I want to fill with data from one column in an SQL database. Any idea on how I do this?

The remarked area works fine when I'm accessing a specific table. I've successfully inserted the products_model field into the combobox too. The datagridview does show the table names in the db using the SHOW TABLES sql statment, but I'm not understanding how to get this info into the combobox instead.

I would like to know how I would return each of the elements to populate the combobox. I have mostly done php work and in php i could do an array like this: array[book] = "VB.Net Programming". Doing this code the data is added up in the combobox dropdown list. But when I am selecting a data from the combobox dropdown list,the all the corresponding data of the other combobox also get filled automatically. I don't want to let the other combobox filled with their data automatically....

Timeout Using SQLite - Create A Database And Several Tables - To Populate The Tables With Data From Arrays
Jul 25, 2012I am using VS2008 and SQLite. I have created a database and several tables and am attempting to populate the tables with data from arrays.
The following code (example) works fine but stops after it inserts 30 to 50 records. I am running the VB code in debug mode and when it stops, I press pause to see where it is. It stops on "SQLcommand.ExecuteNonQuery()" and when I press continue (F5) it will insert another 30 to 50 records.
I do not get an error message. Is this a timeout issue? How do I keep the loop running to the end of the array?

VS 2008 : Fill Data Into A Webpage And Submit It?
Mar 3, 2010auto filling data into webpages. I need to write a server side application mostly a console host app that makes some queries to the SQL Server database and gets a list of lets say students and their grades.There is a third party website that gets updated at the moment some peoples working and filling that data manually.
I need to write a program that will basically open that webpage, login if required, navigate to certain page, click on certain tab, fill the data and hit the submit button. I don't think this part is that hard but the trouble comes with a client side dialog box. At the moment there is a client side dialogbox that shows up when you hit the submit button confirming the action and I need to press OK on that automatically.
I am allowed to write a windows application if not a console application and also use the web browser control to load the webpage rather than opening and interacting with the browser. If this makes it easier than so be it.

I was thinking that the user could search in a way that would ask for values for each field of that table, and give the option of leaving it blank. Aug 14, 2011I developed an application in VB.Net 2010 Express by which my users can updated the data in their offices and send XML files (total 4 xml files) for that particular date - its working fine I am getting 100's of files on daily basis to my FTP servers in a common folder.
Now i want to make an application that read those XML file at a scheduled intervals and import that to MySQL database tables. Also it should keep a log of files that has been imported in order to avoid duplicate importing of files.
