VS 2008 Get The Control Under The Mouse?

Aug 26, 2009

How could I create a function that gets the control under the mouse eg:

Dim Control as control
Control = GetControlUnderMouse()
if Control isnot Nothing then
debug.print(Control.Name)
end if

the function should return nothing if it's not over a control in my app

Btw: I want this to work across forms - and pref with no looping

Interface And Graphics :: Mouse Control - Move The Mouse To A Given Pixel Position (x, Y) And Cause A Click

Oct 6, 2008

Apologies as this has probably been answered a million different times a million different ways already. I'm trying to control the mouse. I wish to move the mouse to a given pixel position (x, y) and cause a click. I don't want this to be limited within a form, as I want to control another application. I'm using VB 2005.

VS 2008 Tracking Mouse Clicks Within A Group Control

Mar 9, 2010

Glad to see some of the great minds are still here. I'm going to be frequenting this plethora of knowledge for the next couple of weeks as I attempt to complete my capstone software engineering class and finally get my undergrad. As usually I will typically need information or guidance. Since this is homework based. I have found my first issue. Allow me to digress....

The task given to my team is to create a checkers game which will have the capability to pay either player vs player or player vs cpu. Before I can begin to work on logic I need to cross the hurdle of detecting mouse movement. I have created the board which consists of 64 panels inside a groupbox. Each panel will have 4 images layers on top with the .visible property set to false. I am familiar with mouse click events to a degree but apparently lack some of the know how required.

C# - Mouse Event Fires When The Mouse Over Child Control?

Aug 24, 2011

I have set the controls mouse enter and mouse leave events. My problem is that the mouse leave event fires if I mouse over any of the child controls (like the name box for example).What I need is for the mouse leave event to fire when my mouse leaves the entire control, rather than firing when I mouse over any of the child controls. Here are the events as I have them so far:

Private Sub DeliveryControl_MouseEnter(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.MouseEnter
Me.removeImage.Visible = True
End Sub

VS 2008 - Move Mouse To Color - Freeze Mouse At Point

Sep 17, 2009

If I put this code in the form, the mouse will be moved once. I want it to "freeze" the mouse at the point that its moved at. If I put code in timer (which it is now), the mouse will keep searching for the color, so the mouse moves around like crazy. How do I change my code so that it will "freeze" the mouse once it finds the color? [Code]

Visual Basic 2008 Implement Mouse Up Mouse Down

Jun 8, 2010

I have a Richtextbox and I would Like the user of the program to be able to drag and drog the richtextbox in other specified places in the program.

I have this very basic

Private blnLifting As Boolean = False
Private Sub richTextBox4_MouseDown(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs) Handles RichTextBox4.MouseDown

[Code]....

Firstly its very inaccurate. I want it so the Richtextbox moves with the mouse and not after the mouse. So I want a smooth drag and drog.

So I don't know if this is the wrong code for something that I want perfect like that.

Secondly I dont know if its possible but I would like it so the box can only be dropped in certain area's in my program and if there is a box already occupying that space, It goes back to where it was before.

VS 2008 Mouse Click Vs Mouse Doubleclick?

Oct 12, 2010

I have defined a class which inherits PictureBox-component.In this class I have a mouseClick and mouseDoubleClick events overridden.On mouseClick the image is selected. Now if user click it again, it is delesected.The mouseDoubleClick event starts the video which this picture is pointing to.Now the problem is that when user doubleclicks the pictureBox it actually calls the mouseClick-event twice (select-deselect) and does not call the mouseDoubleClick-event. How can I define it so that if mouseclicks are done as doubleclicks then doubleClick-event is called, not the click event twice?

Is there any way to get the mouse coordinates on a control behind an another control.

The exact scenario is, I have a picture box of size 1024*1024 and and an another picture box of size 256*256 over the bigger picture box (of size 1024*1024). Now, when I move my mouse over smaller picture box, I want the mouse coordinates with respect to the bigger picture box behind the smaller picture box on which the mouse is moved.

Macro Without Mouse Control?

Dec 11, 2010

I have seen a few programs one in particular, that runs like a macro but it doesn't take over/control your mouse. Instead it uses a secondary, what you could call virtual mouse. It constrains the mouse to the form and then uses this 'secondary' mouse to run the macro without controlling your other mouse. This way you can browser the internet, or whatever else without being disturbed by the running macro.

Does anyone know what this is called? May someone please give me a tutorial on how to use it,

Mouse Position On A Control?

Dec 6, 2009

I have a label (mylabel1) control that is say size 200 by 200. I then add another label (mylabel2) to it as:

myform1.controls.add(mylabel2)

When the mouse enters mylabel1, I want to say change the backcolor as:

Private Sub mylabel1_MouseEnter(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles mylabel1.MouseEnter
mylabel1.backcolor = color.red

[Code].....

this works fine except that when the mouse passes over mylabel2 which was added to the controls collection, it fires the mouseleave event for mylabel1. Is there a way to do this without having the mouseleave event of mylabel1 having to be checked against the mouseenter event of mylabel2??

I am ultimately going to have a parent container that has multiple children but I don't want the children to effect my changing colors and effects when the mouse has entered the parent.
