VS 2008 Getting Total From Multiple Checkboxes?

I'm working on a school project and need some help getting pointed in the right direction. The project is a lawn care application with 2 forms in which the user can select different services they want for their lawn. On Form1 I have 3 checkboxes the user can select: mowCheckBox , fertilizeCheckBox , and mulchCheckbox each with a different price. And nextButton to navigate user to Form2
On Form2 I have a listbox which shows the services the user selected, a totalLabel which will show the total dollar amount of the services, and a calcButton to calculate the total dollar amount.
The problem that I am having is being able to get the total dollar amount. If the user selects the mowCheckBox ($25) and the fertilizeCheckBox ($20) in Form1 I need the totalLabel in Form2 to show the total but cant figure out how to??

Here's the scenario.I have 7 checkboxes.Checkbox1 is equal to "All" where it checks all remaining checkboxes when it is checked.And the remaining 6 Checkbox2 to Checkbox7 has certain conditions if they are checked.Is there a easiest way to do this? Like using a If Elseif Statement?

as a starter project I am trying to create a list of checkboxes with the text as takeaway menu dishes & have labels assigned beside them containing the prices. if some of the checkboxes are checked I would like the total of the prices in the corresponding labels to appear in a text box & the dishes on the checkbox text to appear in a message box. I've managed to code my messagebox output but can't seem to figure out how to add up the selected labels.Here is my code so far, could someone please suggest a way of achieving what i'm trying to do.

How do I filter my DataGridView with multiple checkboxes names? I want to filter in which region the suppliers are located. ex. RegionTable.Regionrow. And I have 4 different regions(checkboxes text name) I want to filter with. Compatible to use multiple choices in filtering.
So. Checking 2 of the 4 regions and pushing the filter button should filter the gridview after checked checkboxes. I have tried different methods for 4 hours and search the net but can't find any good method.

I am working on a program that has about 20 checkboxes on it.What I want to be able to do is to check the checkboxes and then hit an apply button then at that point whatever is checked/ or if something is unchecked the code for that item is run and those changes are applied. If the box is checked it disables the service if it is unchecked it enables the service.
the code I have so far is this for each service I want turned off i have placed under a button name Apply.Each service is a different registry entry and service name, some are just registry key changes.the code seemed to work at first but that is when I only had one checkbox under the button.
I know I have done something wrong with the program logic here Im just not sure how to fix it as I've only been using VB.net for 2 weeks now. I can't find any reference on the internet to having multiple checkboxes with an apply type button.

I have a group box which contains 40 checkboxes, when a checkbox is selected its content is added to a list and removed if already checked. Now I could write 40 functions one for each event (lots of code) each containing a add to the list function and a remove on uncheck, or I could use multiple handles (confusing multiple line declaration) is there another way? say my list of chkboxes had 100 checkboxes or more? can I for example use the container in some way?

What I have is approximately 20 checkboxes each one executes the following code below... They do start and stop the service. I also have another 10 checkboxes that make various changes to the registry however there are several issues I am having.....
1. I can set the registry value but I need to get a registry value to see if it is set to 1 or 0 or another number, if that registry value returns as the 0 then the checkbox would be unchecked if the registry if it is set to 1 then the box would be checked (this is an example) however it would be testing for a number condition not a string.
2. The changes happen immediately however if you check a box to stop a service then immediately uncheck it the registry key is changed but the service is not started. What I want to do to resolve this is put an apply button in that would allow multiple variations of checkboxes to be selected, it would show the current state of them and then once changes are made the apply button can be hit it will apply the changes only then and not before then. I also need to have a way where if something is changed and applied the program verifies the service fully started or stopped.
3. I also want to setup several other buttons that will run only predetermined checkboxes
4. I want to be able to also save the checkbox configuration as like a setting that can be loaded in a button called custom.

I've got a list of System.Drawing.RectangleF objects that all overlap the same RectangleF object.In my picture below, the 3 overlapping rectangles would be the pink, yellow, and red rectangles.My main rectangle in question is the light blue rectangle.
Second Image: I know that with RectangleF objects I can use the Intersect() method that will return me another RectangleF object representing the overlap. But as far as I can tell, this only really works when comparing two rectangles.
My question is: How could I determine the TOTAL area/percentage (i.e. the combined total overlap of the red, yellow, and pink rectangles when compared to the light blue rectangle - but it would need to be smart enough to not count the area in which the red and yellow overlaps twice, and same for the pink and yellow)?
NOTE: The green lines represent the area I'm looking for, just the total area of the blue rectangle that is not visible.
UPDATE: I've added a 2nd image to further demonstrate what I'm looking for. In the second image, the presence of the burgundy rectangle should have no affect on the total percent covered because that area is already covered by the yellow and green rectangles.

I have three Columns of text boxes and I need each column to be added up and displayed in a text box directly below each column with out using a button. The program is a cash counter I already have the code done for multiplying, for example txt1.text = txt2.text * 0.01 (not the exact code) anyway the totals from these is displayed in the columns I was speaking of. I tried the same method I used for multipling but that doesn't work.

the problem with this code is that it only inserts the serial number of the LAST checked checkbox and the number of entries of it depends on the number of checked checkbox for example ... if I checked the rows with the serialnumber 123 and 55652341, first the row with the serial number 123 then second 55652341, only 55652341 appears in the database and it is entered twice(twice because two checkboxes are checked)

The pay rates for the project are:
a. Level 1 - $10.00
b. Level 2 - $12.00
c. Level 3 - $14.00
d. Level 4 - $16.00
e. Benefit Deduction Rate - 0.10
f. Overtime Factor - 1.5
For ease of program maintenance, all of the above rates and factors must be stored in module level constants. All references to pay rates in the program must refer to the module level constants.
When the Calculate button is clicked:
a. The value in the Hours text box must be validated to insure that it is numeric value greater than zero.
1. If the value is not valid, a message box must appear as shown below and the user must be offered the option to continue processing or quit the program.
2. If the user chooses to continue processing, the focus must be set to the Hours text box.
3. If the user chooses to quit, the program must close immediately.
b. If the value is valid, the program must calculate and display the total pay in the Total Pay label.
1. The pay rate is determined by which Job Grade radio button is checked.
2. For hours less than or equal to 40, the total pay is the hours times the pay rate.
3. For hours greater than 40, the total pay is 40 hours times the pay rate plus the hours in excess of 40 hours times the pay rate times the Overtime Factor.
4. If the Full Time radio button is selected, the total pay must be reduced by the Benefit Deduction Rate.
5. The value displayed in the Total Pay label must be formatted with a dollar sign and with two decimal
places.
6. The focus must be set to the Hours text box.

I am working with VB 2008. I want to be able to run this program say in N: and it will show me in an excel sheet the following:
Folder Path Size(GB) Count of Files
N:Clients 0.53 308
where clients contains subfolders and files and the size is the total of all those files within each folder and the count is the total within each folder also.
This works fine as it is but i have to select one by one the top level folders and some of them are huge so it takes forever to give me an answer.
1) I would like to see in my spreadsheet the following by only select the network drive n:
Folder Path Size(GB) Count of Files
N:Clients 0.53 308
N:Software 10.7 15430
N:Billing 0.98 105
2) I would also like to know if this is the faster method.
3) I tried adding a progress bar so that the user can have an idea of how much this will take but i had to remove because it was not working.
4) I would like to see the folder name, size of folder and count of files in the listview.

I'm new to forums as well as new to VB 2008. I'm in process of making a order calculator which will total any values you selected in combo boxes/checkboxes and then display it in a selected area. There are 3 things that I want to achieve: 1. Be able to add another total to an existing total (currently I'm able to see only one total when I hit "Calculate" button)2. In my program, I can place an order for glasses.To do this, I have 4 text boxes:
StockNumber: [12345]
GlassOrPlastic: [Glass/Plastic]
ScratchCoating: [Yes/No]
UVFilter: [Yes/No]
Currently, it works fine... BUT I need to type in Glass or Plastic, I need to type Yes/No and same for each thing, wondering would checkboxes be more effecient or how would I do it?How do I even use checkboxes to get the same values...(If I type in Glass it adds �30 to the price, if I type in Plastic only �15 is added...)So if a Yes answer = �20 and a No = �10 How can I do that with checkboxes or whatever...My code for when I click the order button, myAddNew just adds my information in..
