VS 2008 Getting Values From SelectedItems.Subitems Error
Jul 9, 2009
I was testing to get the values from the ListView which works fine when double-clicking a row in the MouseDoubleClick_event, but in the SelectedIndexChange_event it crashes. I get an error that the value of "0" is not valid for the index.
There are very few examples out there for MS Chart and VS 2008 (the ones provided by MS are for a version different than what I have). What I am trying to do is get the value of the subitems in a listview (1 subitem is Subtotal and the other is Shipping) and put them on the chart. I don't know the best way to do this. I managed to get some code to work with a Datagridview but not with a listview. I have pasted the code for the chart with the datagridview below (to make the code run simply add MS Chart, a Datagridview and a button. Also, I posted a screen capture of a listview with the chart to give a better idea of what I am trying to accomplish.
Imports System.Windows.Forms.DataVisualization.Charting Imports System.Globalization Public Class FrmChartTest
I am trying to programmatically select all items, including subitems, in a listview and can't seem to get the result I am looking for. I have FullRowSelect = True set and when I click on the items, all is fine. However, if I use the following code, only the ListViewItem is selected and not the item's subitems. Is there a way to achieve this?
When changing selecteditems (the items themselves, not which ones are selected) in a multiselect listbox, sometimes the operation does not happen and items are deselected. Here is a simple example of what I mean, just a form with a multiselect listbox.
Public Class Form1 Private Sub Form1_Load(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load ListBox1.Items.Add("item at index 0")
I need to display the selecteditems in a label I am using VB 2005 I set the selection mode to multi-extended It did work selecting only one item with the following code:
I have listview which populates with filenames. When an item is selected a label shows how many items are selected. This works ok. However, when clicking off an item (deselecting it) the label won't display 0. I have the code written in the mouseclick event of the list view;[code]
SEE MY ANSWER AT THE BOTTOM Just doing some light reading on WPF where I need to bind the selectedItems from a DataGrid but I am unable to come up with anything tangible. I just need the selected objects.
Actually values are not stored in that array list permanently. its storing temporarily and then destroying. i want to store that values in that arraylist permanently.
As the title describes I tried to get the selected items and it returned an emtpy collection. The property only works once after that something goes wrong and it returns an emtpy collection. Does anyone know why? Or knows what I'm doing wrong?
I have a form with 12 text boxes. I'm trying to get the data from those text boxes to "save", and when that form is opened again have the data be inserted back. This form has different time slots so I need to be able to have it save and repopulate based on what time slot I am clicking on. I was going to have it read the data by splitting it with commas, then inserting them back into the correct fields but it's not working. I had it write the results to a text file and they get written correctly and inserted back, but the problem with that is it only reads that text file so every time slot I open up gets the same data.
Below is code I used to get the data when the Save button is clicked. [Code]. Problem is I get an error saying "Char values cannot be converted to Integers" on the first line, the (","c) part.
I'm using a listview control, view=details, to display lines of song data, divided over several columns. As far as I understand you should be able to access the subitems by key (as string). But I can't get it running. I did find a workaround, listed here,
I am trying to read a 16bit binary file (tif image) and pixel values of the image ranges from 1200 to 4500. I tried to use BinaryReader using ReadUInt16 but I get EndOfStreamException Unhandled error. ReadByte method works fine with an 8bit tif file. I do not know how to read a 16bit image file using binaryReader. Shouldn't I use ReadUInt16 since values of pixels range from 1200 to 4500?
Am New To This Fourm So Forgive Me If I Have Put This In The Worng Place I HAve Been Programming For 3 Years And Need A Project I Am Doing.I Am Using Visual Basic 2008 Express EditionOutlineI Want To Be Able To Add A Dword Value To A Exsisting Location and add a value to that Dword Value
Example: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList and then Add a new Dword Value that is not there such as Administrator
Private Sub tvFolders1_AfterSelect(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.TreeViewEventArgs) Handles tvFolders1.AfterSelect Dim id3folder As String
[CODE]...
I'm now trying a different approuch to my previous problem with the TreeView/ListView issue I had, this new "sollution" seems to be a bit more easy however I still can't solve it. The problem is to add the remaining listview.subitems, everything I try ether a: crashes app, or b: Only adds one subitem. If you take a look at the code you should see where my problem is.
Private Sub tvFolders1_AfterSelect(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.TreeViewEventArgs) Handles tvFolders1.AfterSelect Dim id3folder As String id3folder = e.Node.FullPath()
Ive been trying to add images in SUBitems in a listbox. After some plundering i figured out they've somewhy removed that property in vb.net 2010. Ive tried several results ive found on google, url... but that didnt seem to work in vb.net2010 (or am i just not good at copypasting?). Anyway i need a brither mind than mine to work out some other solution. Im not required to use listbox, but hopefully something similar. Ive taken a look at DataGridView, but i really dont want to process that little information i got, into a database.
i have been working on a customer database project. i created a user control with ListView control for Customer details. and an another user control was created for Product details. both controls are placed in main form.I am trying to get Customer details and Product Details from separate thread but i faced CROSS THREAD...Error how can i overcome this problem.
this is my main process
Public _lstVwCstDet, _lstVwPrdct As New ListView Private Sub M_ProcessStart() _lstVwCstDet = frmMain.axCustmrCnt.LstVw
[Code]....
I want to Get List View Items and it's Subitems from an another Thread.
I'm trying to find out how to Edit/add/read individual subitems in a populated Listview box I seem to be going round and round in circles looking on the "net"
I was attempting to follow a few tutorials for the ListView control. I am able in the designer to add items and subitems but I want to be able to add them in at runtime. I can do ListView1.Items.Add quite fine but when I attemp to input ListView1.SubItems (As the tutorial suggests) I get an error that is: Code: 'SubItems' is not a member of 'System.Windows.Forms.ListView' I am using Visual Basic.NET 2008 Express.
