VS 2008 - How To Make ServerAddress Content Not Readable
Apr 27, 2009
Is there anyway to store a string in the code of an application and not let it be readable by reflection? For example if I have:
Dim ServerAddress as String = "10.10.10.10"
Is there any way to make ServerAddress' content not readable.
I have a table with a column/field (type : nvarchar) that stores text. The text is read from a text file and written to the database using vb.net application. The text in the text file contains Turkish characters such as the u with 2 dots on top(in the future it will be in different languages )When I open the table, the text in the column is not readable. It converts the Turkish special character to some unreadable characters. Is there anyway to make the text readable in the table?
I have this code which places text into a textbox control. [Code] How can I make that textbox autoscroll to the end of the textbox contents? I've read countless times that if I use TextBox1.AppendText instead of TextBox1.Text += the textbox will automatically scroll. [Code]
I am trying to pass to a "SendEmail" class that I created an attachment from a stream. Here is my stream from the form: Private Sub button_Email_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles button_Email.Click Dim myimagestream As MemoryStream = New MemoryStream() myimage.Save(myimagestream, Drawing.Imaging.ImageFormat.Jpeg) Dim se As New SendEmail [Code] ..... All seems to go fine until I get the email and try to open the attachment. The file is not readable but it's not a zero byte file.
So I am trying to Make a Jewel Quest sort of Game and I need to be able to make the image from one picturebox trade places with an image from another picturebox, I m trying todo it with the MouseMove, DragEnter, and DragDrop events and so far i think ive gotten everything figured out for the first two but cant figure out how to code the drop event.....
1. How to make content in a label scroll horizontally from the right to the left? And I want it to loop nonstop so that it can keep scrolling once and once again nonstop.
2. For example, my label is multi-lined and has line A and B. What about if I want:
Line A scroll from the bottom to the top -> Line A pauses for 10 seconds(for users to read it)-> after that line A dissapears itself -> line B scrolls up -> Line B pauses for 10 seconds(for users to read it)-> after that line B dissapears itself-> (back to the first step)
application i'm developing in school.I am trying to make the program detect when the user copies new content to the clipboard, when this happens I want the program to check the data type,
I want text content to be written to a text file.Images can be left alone.if a file or folder is copied, i want the location of the copied file and the file name to be written to a text file.
I only really need help in getting the program to detect a clipboard modification, preferably with the AddHandler statement.
Im learning Visual Basic 2010 on my programming class and we reached the part of file handling. Here i tried to make a simple program that can create a text file with the content of what i type on the textbox, basically i create the file if it doesn't exist, and if it already exists i append the content to it. Once the file is saved i can read it using the "Open" button. Unfortunataly, whenever i try to create the file, the compiler gives me an error saying that it cannot modify a closed file, although i've followed up the execution instruction by instruction and i can't find the error.
Imports System.IO Public Class Form1 Dim body As String
I downloaded a database from url... it was a zip archive. Anyway my question is, there are two files: virussignatures.dat and virussignatures.fmt. I've heard that I should extract the database as SQL by using BCP. The contents of virussignatures.fmt is: [code] I want to turn the virus signatures.dat to an XML or an understandable TXT.
I am having trouble converting the Bytes() to a readable text.
I will be receiving packets from a UDP Connection, but due to lack of connectivity issues, they have provided me a .mem file that i am assuming is the whole stream of the packet.
So for now, i am trying to read the file and i get a collection of bytes(). but i cannot convert it to readable text.
i have been working on VS 2008 for past 6 months and right now i am working on some little project which requires the value in reg_binary in XP to be decoded to readable string of the original form
i came up to create my own because i need to encrypt 10character string and i want it to output also 10character string..security is not my concerned here..what i want is encrypted string is not readable by the user or is not obvious to user.. is this possible by the use of Xor method?..BTW,its better if the output is alphanumeric.
I have a Socket application that, when data is received (on the Server side) and the client is recognized, the data is passed onto its own socket and stream, and the previous socket and stream is discarded.
The data is serialized with a binary formatter before sending and deserialized on receiving the data.
I have a sample app here I could use a hand with Basically I'm trying to update the TextBlock on the main page using MVVM when the content the frame updates the the property. Please find the code attached below:[URL]..How do i get the button inside the frame to change the variable and update the TextBlock on the parent control?
In developing a flash-based memory manager, I need to be able to view large quantities of data. With my eyes and monitor resolution, I can read hand-drawn 3x5 letters on a 4x6 matrix without too much difficulty, but none of the system TrueType fonts render optimally at that size. I've tried writing code to draw font shapes to off-screen bitmaps, and then use DrawImage to copy those bitmaps to the screen, but I can't get good performance. This is for development, not production, so performance doesn't have to be absolutely optimal, but I don't want to spend too long waiting for screens of data to refresh.
What would be the best way of either making .net display a font which is pixel-perfect what I want, or else building a bitmap out of lots of little pieces quickly? I'm using vb.net, so I can't simply generate a bitmap as a byte array and pass that to the Bitmap constructor unless someone can show me how to convert an array into an IntPtr.
1)This is my code.. (below)what i am trying to do here is to insert username and confirmed password into a sql table called login via a pre created form.I have 1 textbox, 2 Maskedtextboxes and a button.
what i would like is if the passwords do not match in both maskedtextboxes for the system to throw out a message saying passwords do not match please try again..which then clears previous content and requires the user to enter details again. once details are correct and system commits the new user details to the table and throws up a confirmation message.
I've added an attribute for a user readable display name to my Enum values. However my code to convert from the user readable display name back to the Enum (function ToEnum) seems very convoluted.I am wondering if I am missing a better way of doing this (I am using Visual Studio 2010 with SP1.) [code]
Greetings, I'm looking for a way to encode a string into HTML that uses human-readable tags such as ê (=ê). At the moment, I am using the HttpUtility.HtmlEncode() function, but it appears to return numbered tags instead of human-readable ones. For example:
Dim str as string = HttpUtility;HtmlEncode("vente - en-tête") 'Expected: vente - en-tête 'Actually received: vente - en-tête
Is there a setting or function in ASP.Net to encode a string into HTML resembling the first comment?
EDIT: I am looking for this kind of functionality because the text is saved HTML-encoded in the database. The text comes from a bunch of MS Word documents that have been converted to HTML.
For the last months I'm busy with programming a tool for check links, not just normal links but filehosting links like fileserve etc. All fine. But when the tool needs to check more then 5000 links, he will do it very, very slow. He can be busy for like two days. The process of downloading the content of the filehosting link, and checking it are all in a backgroundworker. The follow code I used for downloading the content from the link:
download content from url Function get_content_from_url(ByVal url As String) As String Dim Str As System.IO.Stream
OK, I have setup a "bug report" that will e-mail all necessary details about the application I have, I want it to be as easy as a click of a button. The only problem is the e-mailing part, I don't quite understand what to do. Is it possible to launch a web page from VB that can have code added to it, to write and send the e-mail, I always remember sending e-mail's through PHP easy.
