I got this text document that is opend by my server and is edited by my server the whole time. Now i want to load this document into my program only it says its in use what is normal... but is there a way to use it ?

View 3 RepliesWhat would be the fastest way to put XML nodes in memory? I can use generics, arrays, list arrays and so on but how to get the nodes first? All of the following are taking too long:
XmlDocument.Load
XmlDataDocument (used it by accident)
XPath.XPathDocument("path")
I can loop through 500 000 Nodes and get the 30 000 uniques in less than a second instead of 3 hours previously but loading the nodes takes whole 20 seconds. Never thought this would be the bottleneck.
In VB.net when loading in XML documents using System.Xml.Xmldocument is there a way that I can specify a relative path to the file?[code]...

I want to save an HTML document into my.resources, and then load it in webbrowser1.navigate when it is called to do so, but it seems when I save my.resources.myfile and call it with webbrowser1.navigate(my.resources.myfile) it wont navigate properly or read the html file properly. Found some code for printing documents, as I've never tried it before. My main focus is to print the content of a listbox to a sheet of paper. What I found uses a type of ListItem, which doesn't seem to be available for a Windows Form outside of web dev.
My attempt was to add all items to an array and then cycle throught the array to create a new line after every array entry. I think that portion is functioning as desired, but I'm not quite sure if I'm handling the print function correctly.

I am currently trying to, using VB Express 2008, change some hyperlinks in a word document. The words which are associated to this hyperlinks also have bookmarks which I use to access them easily. The error I'm recieving says "Range is not a by reference property." [code] The error is produced by that last line. The full code is actually longer and it also runs through a process with Excel where it determines de variables used.

I'm having problems executing this command as a BackgroundWorker. I wrote a license verification program that executes upon loading so I wanted do that in the background so that the program opens up right away and not wait for it to complete execution. The license verification codes work when it directly loads but when I put it in a BackgroundWorker it stalls at this command. WebBrowser1.Document.GetElementsByTagName("input") doesn't seem to execute in BackgroundWorker.
