This problem has me stumped. When working with a MDI project, the MenuStrip that was on the child form is tranferring to the parent (as expected), but for some reason it leaves an empty gray bar behind on the child form (see image below).

I wanted this to happen on a specific place, not the form itself (In this case, a picture).The left click context menu works fine, but when I try a right click context menu, the left click context menu will pop-up as soon as I release the right click button.[code]By using this code, I have a small nuisance of the right click event, where when released, it also uses the left click event. Any ideas of how to, well, stop it opening the left click menu when I release the right click button?Alternatively, I was thinking of using a mouse hover event to replace the right click event, but I'm not that advanced of a programmer.

I want a little pop-up menu to appear by the mouse when a useer left-clicks on an object.
For some reason, the Add New Item command on the Project Menu is hanging VB on my Vista based machine.but now, it hangs. By that I mean the the little circle cursor spins and spins and spins... This happens even when all I do is start VB, start and new project. and then try to add something, eg. another form, a class, anything except "existing item".

Simply saying I've added an Notify Icon to my project and then added context menu showing up when the left mouse button is pressed. The problem is that with the context menu some blank form is showing in the taskbar. There is no such form within the project.Does anyone know why it may be happening or how to get rid of the effect? I might add that I have other context menu attached for mouse right click button and it works fine, no blank forms and such showing on the taskbar it's just the left mouse button that works that way.Here is the code that I am using to show the menu:(the visible state to false is necessary for the other menus not to pop up with the one i want... unless anyone knows better method)

I have a class library project (.dll) which contains a couple of forms.I now have a new project that would be the Client.
1) How do I load the forms from the dll into this project at runtime?
2) How do I set the client to be the MDiParent of the forms that will be opened from the dll?
This is not strictly .net code question but I have a project that i want to open from a folder(not file) context menu and pass the folder path to my program like open with but this is not visiable from a folder.
View 2 RepliesFor reasons that are beyond my control, I have three Projects. Projects A and B reference project C. Project A references project B so that it can open a large form in project B. I now need to open that large form from project C, but VB won't allow me to add a reference from C to B because that would create a circular dependency. I found a way around it, though. I created a Timer in A, and when I opened C from A, I passed in that timer. When the user performs a certain action, I enable the Timer from A, and this causes C to open B for me.

To create a test project for your class. Open the Persons project that you created in the previous lesson. If you did not save it, you will first have to go back to the previous lesson, Adding Methods to a Class, and complete the procedures.
On the File menu, point to Add, and then click New Project.
On the Templates pane in the New Project dialog box, click Windows Forms Application.

1- i add Project Setup Project for my Project for Visual Studio 2008 Deploy & setup Type Projects and make it with output option and detect dependices
2- i try make it with Setup Factory 8.2.1
3- i try with MSI Factory 2.0
4 i try with Setup Factory 6.0

I got a panel that i am adding labels to. I have autoscroll enabled on it so when they fill the viewable space it scrolls. but i need to put the labels to the left unviewable space(when left scroll is already at 0) The label is placed but i dont get the scroll bars and i cant force it to scroll to a - value.
Is this even possible? Same thing with UP.
Or is the Scroll only limited to Bottom and Right?
Is it possible to create a custom start menu shortcut link?
The only possibilities I see in the setup project are shortcuts to folders or primary output.
Update:
What I ended up doing is creating a custom action on commit that dynamically creates the link using Windows Scripting Host. Then on uninstall, removing the link.

the dashed line indicates the point of termination. the for-loop is simply not done. i tried it with stop points and the last point it stops is the ReDim-part. this can only mean, that the ReDim-Command forces the program to leave the method. but the for loop is never done afterwards. Can you help me? Because i really dont get it.
