VS 2008 - Random Form Resizes After Calling?
Aug 4, 2009For some reason, a certain Form in my project will change it's size all on it's own right after I call it. It's usually with small forms in the one I'm having a problem with is 95x25 pixels. The only thing on it is a Label with some text in the middle and this code

As you can see the Form is meant to be a small pop-up that disappears on its own, like a balloon tip. Anyways I just added it to my project 5 minutes ago and as soon as I tested it out by displaying it with Form.Show(), it randomly changed to 123 by something else during runtime. I checked all the Form properties for any kind of resize properties and only found AutoScaleMode which was set on font, but set on None made no difference. Like I said I just added this form and have no code affecting it whatsoever in my entire project except for Form.Show and the code on that form. For the moment I'm just resizing the form on it's own Load event, and that seems to work, but I'd like to know what is causing this random form resize.
VS 2008 : Database Save Update Remove?

I dont know if i have to create the connection to the table in this code so it can update,save,delete my info in the datagrid directly to the database source.?
When i save the info it only shows in the DATABASE thats in the BIN directory not the other one (the main one)...but either way when i close the whole project and open it again it loads the info from the main DATABASE and of course the BIN one changes witout the saved data?

Dec 28, 2009I found that the overlay function was working fine. However, it seems that if I use the overlay function while reading an image from a stream, that it would enlarge the picture before overlaying it.
ie:
overlay = New Bitmap(stream)
g.DrawImage(overlay, 0, 0)
Seems to enlarge the image before overlaying it, whereas this:
overlay = New Bitmap(My.Resources.Pic)
g.DrawImage(overlay, 0, 0)
Seems to overlay the image fine.
What could be the reason for this?

Jan 29, 2012Has any one experienced this. Never seen it before. Anchoring a Toolstrip Left,Top,Right will resize the strip with out the option of stepping back and undoing it. Forces rolling back the application. Toolstrip is docked at the bottom.

Oct 13, 2010I have a small program that works just fine on my desktop (23 inch monitor). I programmed it on this computer as well. My laptop (17 inch monitor) works fine also, however, on a 15 inch monitor the picturebox's are off and not where they were when I programmed it. Also, some forms you can not see the entire form and the bottom is cut off.

Jun 15, 2010When loading the form then my windows state is maximized (properties--windows state--maximized). After loading the form then if I press taskbar menu top(maximise button is disabled and minimize button is disabled on form) then size of form is changing. I have used screen.width,and height to restore when form resizes but still for the first time of form loading it moves and set to the boundaries. Atleast once also it should not move. How to stop changing the windows state from moving when we click task bar. Again in form properties -- application -- I have checked -- make single instance application. When if again any other path same form is opened. Then also it resizes to other state.

when the timer hits a 2 second interval the picturebox on form 3 gets a new image from the screen shot that form 4 takes off of form4's area. i want the user to select a folder with the "folder browser dialog" and i want each frame capture to be saved to the folder (every 2 seconds) that the user chooses as "1.jpg, 2.jpg, 3.jpg" etc .

Feb 2, 2012I'm using VB 2010 Express with a local Access DB. I am having trouble determing whether there are changes in a DataGridView to save back to the underlying DB.
The DB has been copied to the project directory and its properties (by selecting it in the Solution Explorer) include Copy to Output Directory: Copy Always, so I know that any changes I make when running a build will disappear on the next build. The problem I'm having is within a run / test session, working with the application.
The Access database has the following connection string, with Application scope:

I want to check when user fill the form if all have correct data then insert into database otherwise get focus of specifiq textbox which have wrong data. I see many examples but all is applied on keydown keypress etc events. I just need a class i send Textbox as object in that which return true or false. I need one method in that class which check only numbers with decimal point and limit decimal places to 4 digit.e.g 12345.9876 and other method check A to Z and a to z with some special charecters like @ # $ % & ! ;
