I have a form with 12 text boxes that a user must fill. I need then by pressing a button to promt for the save directory and save the input as ".".txt file. Moreover i need each line of the txt to correspond to each one of the txtboxes. So the input to the first box will be the first line of the txt file,...the input of the ninth box the ninth line of the txt file.

Is there a way to make one list box dependent on the other based on user input. Here's my situation: A teacher has the ability to enter the name of the student into a listbox via a textbox. The teacher may then select the student from the first student list box and input grades that would go into a grade listbox. It allows the user to view basic information for the object and then view the maintenance history. My approach for the maintenance history is simply to have unique tables per object since a history has to be kept for each, however, I'm running into a problem in the application that allows the user to view the general information from one DB and the Maintenance history from the other DB.
Say you have Object ID BG1. I can enter the object ID into a search field, pull the data from the general DB and display the data, but I also need it to pull the information from the maintenance history and display. If maintenance history for this object is not found, then create a new table within the DB, fill the columns with the required fields and allow for the user to edit the history.
I am attempting to set up a datagridview that is dynamic based on user input. The user input is a start and end date. The start date defines the first column the next column is the next date... until the end date (x-axis). The y-axis is technicians and the fields will show the assignment for the technician on that date.
All the advise I am seeing on datagridviews is to create a property methods to provide the information for each column. for example:

How do I create a object data source that allows me to populate the data grid? I want the column headers to be included as a string in row 0 of the multidimensional array. The amount of columns will be dynamic with a minimum of 1 and maximum viewing of 100 days based on what dates are selected in the start date and end date fields.The input dates will be used to generate a query to a database that will populate the multidimensional array.One solution I see is pick a start date and have a set number of dates and code for set number of columns (100) in a row and then set the names of the columns dynamically...ahhhh code repetition!
I am not sure how else to do this but looking for a more suttle way.I am using this to create a simple scheduling tool to see resource schedules by date. There is an unmoveable end date so initially I will need to look ahead 100 days but as the end date gets closer, I will have fewer and fewer dates. So eventually the end date will be that start date.

I need two create two functions, one that returns the name of the month and the other returns the number of days in that month. The arrays are supposed to be defined and initialized within the function so that the main program can take the user input and call the two functions, then return the appropriate values as output to labels. I am not sure how to declare the arrays in their appropriate functions and then how to call those functions to retrieve the right value from the function.

Is there a simple way to save user input from MANY controls (textboxes, comboboxes, etc...) to a text file? When I say 'MANY', I am referring to at least 580 textboxes and several dozen comboboxes.
I may be able to accomplish this using the StreamWriter Class, but doing this individually would take quite a long time. I suppose I could also change all text boxes to richTextBoxes and save to .rtf. It seems like this would be even more time consuming.
Surely there is a simpler way to do this 'globally', perhaps with an added single line of code that points (and saves) to a preset or created text.txt file whenever text is added or changed in a textbox or combobox throughout the program.
I have a procedure at the end of my console application that ask the user to either hit enter to end the program, or type s to perform another search. The issue I'm having is no matter what the user types in the program end. What I would like to happen is if the user types s, then the program starts over and lets the user perform another search. The only part I'm struggling with is I'm supposed to make copies of the array after the user is done inputting the numbers. These copies has to be sized exactly to how many numbers the user input. Ive got a program that relies on remote control of the computer, and i need to be able to take a webcam image without the user having to press buttons etc. So far, ive gotten to the point where i can find my webcam, and with the help of a button, start a preview, then take the picture and save it as a jpeg.Problem is, when you press the button to start the preview, another dialog box shows up (not related to my code) prompting me to select a video source..Im confused kus it seems as though the list i find on form_load does nothing at all if when i press the button it prompts me with the same list.Well you can infer from this that i cannot use the btnstart_click(sender, e) on form_load because it opens a dialog that wont close until i press ok, and i already tried to sendkeys enter, it didnt work.anyone have any idea how i can either alter my code, or make new code to take a web cam image, and save it with no user input?

I'm a complete beginner to programming alone, let alone VB.net. What I need to do is encrypt a block of text inputted by a user using a keyword that will also be inputted by the user. This is all to be done using ciphertext, so naturally the user would be informed the keyword can not have any repeating characters. I figure the English alphabet will be predefined in capitals and lowercase, then the keyword will be read character by character, removing those characters from the alphabet array and then appending them to the end of it (to create the new encrypted alphabet). How to read the keyword character by character, and then removing the corresponding letter from the alphabet. The best I can think is to check each character of the keyword against each character of the array which I'm sure is much more work than I need to do.
