I'm attempting to copy cells, one at a time, from an Excel 2003 (or 2007) spreadsheet to a Word 2003 (or 2007) table. I'd like the code to be version-agnostic, and so am using late binding. The formatting of the contents of the Excel cell, such as color, underline, strike-through, needs to be preserved. My approach is to use a Word doc as a template. It has a table at the top which I can copy to the end of the doc, add rows as needed, and fill in the word table cells with the data from the excel spreadsheet. Unfortunately, all the formatting disappears. All I get is the text itself.
View 2 Repliesi have a problem in locating bookmarks which are defined inside the table cell. Each table cell in my word document can contain multiple textboxes. I need to fill text in each of these textboxes using word automation. I tried placing bookmarks inside these textboxes for each cell and tried to replace using Word Automation. But unfortunately, i cant locate / replace the bookmark using the following lines:

I currently gather my information from the database using a data reader and while dataReader.read, I use stringbuilder.Append to add each cell value to the table.The issue is that after about 200 rows, the html breaks and displays a cell value above the table in the email. View 8 RepliesThe following code allows words to be added to a listbox. Add the word to a text file and create a folder with the word as its name. The second part undoes the actions.If I try to delete the word immediately after adding it one of two things happen.
1.An error is reported stating the path cannot be found. Although the listbox index value is correct according to the code the error is pointing at that index +1.
2.The code continues to the point of requesting conformation to delete the folder, still pointing at the index value +1. I the action is confirmed the wrong folder is deleted.
However if I stop debugging, then run the code again all works correctly.Is it likely to persist when the application is compiled?

I accomplished it by using 4 timers used as flip flop but I don�t think it�s the right way to do it. Is there an easier way to accomplish it by using looping? I tried with no avail even by using 4 labels and overlapping them.
I am currently working on a project for myself which looks through employee's information to find their availability to work. I've tried making a structure which holds the employee's information but I can't think of a good way to create different instances of it and store information in it at runtime. I'd prefer to load the information in at startup and not have to declare each employee and information. I am very new to Visual Basic 2008 but I have a good grasp of arrays from C and C++.

As a bonus to the project I'm currently working on, the people would like it if I could change the background color of individual table cells depending on what their value is. So in the RadGrid_ItemDataBound event handler I have, I'm trying to set the BackColor of the cell if the cell's text equals a certain value from a dataset in my database. My current code is like so:

How to select one cell and mulitple cells in a table using the webbrowser control. E.g. If the web page (local) that I'm viewing in the webbrowser control has tables present in it. When I click on a cell in the table I want to be able to edit the attributes of the cell like adding an align or a class attribute. I think this is possible without using mshtml which I'm trying to avoid as I can't find much user friendly documentation on it.
The text in the webbrowsercontrol is loaded with the foll:

So I am guessing that I need to be able to detect when a cell is selected (<td></td> tag etc) or clicked on and then from that point I can edit the attributes of that specific cell (<td class="jimmy"></td> tag etc).
I am using vb.net to create a Word table. Everything works fine, except that it is very slow. It takes about 0.34 seconds to create each cell in the table. I am using an HP machine with i7 processor and 12 GB of RAM. At 0.34 seconds per cell, times 7 columns, times 189 rows ~ 7.5 minutes to create a small table! I must be doing something wrong, but I have no idea what it could be. The table looks looks fine.

View 2 RepliesI have created a macro, attached to a button on my word document, which added a new row to the top of a table and changes the colour of the bottom line of the row to light grey.However there appears to be a problem which I think is a bug in either the language or word itself which meant that he part of my function which colours the bottom of the row only works once!I did create a work around which was to actually call the style function twice (but it had to apply a different colour, even though only one of the colours are actually applied).

How do you convert an integer to a usable color (for PictureBox.CreateGraphics)?
The color should start at red, cycle to orange, yellow, etc. and come all the way back around to red again.
This is in vb.net. If I cannot do this, how do I use PictureBox.CreateGraphics with a hex code instead of a pen?
I'm really really rusty/rubbish at this, but I have a series of 11 bitmaps in my resources folder.
I'd like, each time I click a button, a different image loads in sequence into a picture box. How do I do this. I know I've got to some array which loads the images, and a loop to increment through the array, but I can't put it together with the resources folder and the PictureBox control.

Now this is a very basic concept, but the problem is when the last row value is returned, i get an indexing error "Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: index" i tried to count-1, but that doesnt cover everything. And even easier, would be to set no duplicate allowed in the datatable itself. but i want to fill those particualr rows with color.
