What is the correct way to cycle through the rows in a MSProject file? I was wanting to do something like this.
Dim QICharter As Project = app.ActiveProject
Dim iCharter As Integer = 0
While iCharter < QICharter.Tasks.Count
MsgBox(QICharter.Task.Item(0).Project.ToString)
iCharter +=1
endwhile
I'd like the following 4 characters cycle in a label (I think its the old UNIX progress bar):
[Code]...
I accomplished it by using 4 timers used as flip flop but I dont think its the right way to do it. Is there an easier way to accomplish it by using looping? I tried with no avail even by using 4 labels and overlapping them.
I am currently working on a project for myself which looks through employee's information to find their availability to work. I've tried making a structure which holds the employee's information but I can't think of a good way to create different instances of it and store information in it at runtime. I'd prefer to load the information in at startup and not have to declare each employee and information. I am very new to Visual Basic 2008 but I have a good grasp of arrays from C and C++.
I have this piece of code. For some reason , some records that match are not being marked as matched. I believe there is something wrong the code. Can someone plese have a look and see if there is something wrong with the MoveNext command?
I'm making a simple text encoder for my chat prog. and I need it to cycle through each character and replace it with one please give me an example code of changing all A's in a string to B's and change all B's to A's. So abab would come out baba.
I need to cycle through a controls binded sources data. For instance I have a text box bound to a dataset, the datamember is a column in that tableadapter
I then would like to click a button that will show the next record.
I have a function that is giving me fits. This is designed to identify all files in a given directory (myPath), and then cycle through those files. Each file in the directory is a well-formed XML file full of name/value pairs. Here is an example of what they contain:
I'm really really rusty/rubbish at this, but I have a series of 11 bitmaps in my resources folder.
I'd like, each time I click a button, a different image loads in sequence into a picture box. How do I do this. I know I've got to some array which loads the images, and a loop to increment through the array, but I can't put it together with the resources folder and the PictureBox control.
I sort of got something like this:
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object,
cycle through the cell values of particular column in a datagridview. and if duplicates are found, display them in a message box.
Dim wacko As String wacko = DataGridView1.Rows(0).Cells(1).Value For m As Integer = 0 To DataGridView1.Rows.Count
[code]....
Now this is a very basic concept, but the problem is when the last row value is returned, i get an indexing error "Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: index" i tried to count-1, but that doesnt cover everything. And even easier, would be to set no duplicate allowed in the datatable itself. but i want to fill those particualr rows with color.
I am using vb.net by the way. From what I understand, Xna is not usable in visual Basic. Therefore, in order to create my characters, I defined a sprite class. Now my question is.... (I am drawing everything using a timer on the form btw by the process of invalidation.)... how do I use time to cycle through the images in an image array while the instance has no focus, and whilst the class inherits the "Control" class? Basically, how do i get these instances to act without user input? I want a character to eventually respond to user input, but I also need npcs that do not need any input in order to move themselves. Also, I need this in such a way that each instance's processes do NOT interfere with the processes of others. So that whatever timing I use does not also stall the whole window/form.
For reasons that are beyond my control, I have three Projects. Projects A and B reference project C. Project A references project B so that it can open a large form in project B. I now need to open that large form from project C, but VB won't allow me to add a reference from C to B because that would create a circular dependency. I found a way around it, though. I created a Timer in A, and when I opened C from A, I passed in that timer. When the user performs a certain action, I enable the Timer from A, and this causes C to open B for me.
I am working on Treeview control and Gridview Control VB.NET08. In the Treeview i have Parent and Child Nodes. Like: [Code] Comparing the Parent Node text and first two digits in the Column values. I want to add rows inbetween the gridview rows based on the parent and Child Nodes. If i expand the First Parent Node Called "31" then according to the Number of Child Nodes (for first parent node(31) there are 5 child nodes.) add rows in the gridview.
These New rows should be add under the 31-xxxx. If i expand the 32 Parent Node based on number of Child Nodes, add rows under the 32-xxxx. [Code] I am getting the rows in the end of the Gridrow not in the Specific row.
How would i delete only the successful inserted rows for insert and then move the non successful rows up and allow the user to correct the data and get it ready for an insert. If i dont delete the successful rows then i will have multiple inserts of the same dataRow and we dont want that! AND if i dont move the data up then it will have blank rows uptop and will end the try and not insert the corrected data. You can better see what logic i am trying to perform at the bottom of my code, right after I insert into the database. Here is my code.
Private Sub btnLaserGenerateTicket_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnLaserGenerateTicket.Click 'Function declarations
I have three sub tables that I want to process. For each I want to combine the rows, as they are only different by contents in the second column(I want to do the same to the fourth column, later):
I am currently using DevExpress 10.2 within Visual Studio 2010. In a previous question I was trying to print the current user view of a DevExpress GridControl with the user's choice of expanded or collapsed master rows and/or group sections. I was told this was not possible at this time. I have now decided to use the following code:
I have a project that I have created, it something like a contact database. It is complete with its own sql server database, and controls and forms.I kinda of understand that I can include this project into another project. This is the tricky part,Can I include my contact project into another project and add more items to the database and forms in a new project? What I'm after is like using classes. My contact database would be like the base class, and the new project would be adding more features to that project.
How would i delete only the successful inserted rows for insert and then move the non successful rows up and allow the user to correct the data and get it ready for an insert. If i dont delete the successful rows then i will have multiple inserts of the same dataRow and we dont want that! :) AND if i dont move the data up then it will have blank rows uptop and will end the try and not insert the corrected data. Here is my code.
Public Shared Function isMatch(ByVal username As String) As Integer For i As Integer = 0 To table.length - 1 Dim cellValue As String = table.getRow(i).getCell("Alias")
[Code].....
I have the code listed above as a translation from a Java snippet. The problem i have is that in Java, my table was stored as a dataset and as such, the methods were easily identifiable by "getRow" and getCell" using specific numbers and column names. However in VB the information is stored in an MS Access database (which i already have an open connection to, called: "_SalesPerformance_AnalyticsToolDatabaseDataSet12") and as such i do not know the correct way in which to iterate through each row in the database, checking a specific column against an already specified variable and then returning an integer based upon the value of a seperate column in the same row.
how to add Rows programmatically to the DataGridView's rows collection when the control is data-bound? here is my code but i got error as "Rows cannot be programmatically added to the DataGridView's rows collection when the control is data-bound? "
Dim _tableBackLogs As System.Data.DataTable Do While i - 2 > 0 _tableBackLogs = Global.DataAccess.GetDataTable("SELECT SubjectID,SubjectName,Grade FROM SubjectPI WHERE RegNo='" & CInt(HttpContext.Current.Session("userName")) & "' AND Status='Fail' AND Semester='" & i - 2 & "'") i = i - 2
Doing this replaces the previous data in the DataTable. I want to retain the previous data i.e i want the new rows to be added to the DataTable w/o replacing the previous rows.
