I have the code listed above as a translation from a Java snippet. The problem i have is that in Java, my table was stored as a dataset and as such, the methods were easily identifiable by "getRow" and getCell" using specific numbers and column names. However in VB the information is stored in an MS Access database (which i already have an open connection to, called: "_SalesPerformance_AnalyticsToolDatabaseDataSet12") and as such i do not know the correct way in which to iterate through each row in the database, checking a specific column against an already specified variable and then returning an integer based upon the value of a seperate column in the same row.

I have a fair bit of experience with VB.NET and C# (In this case I chose VB.NET, blame my laziness), but I do most of my professional work using PHP. I have no experience what so ever in using any database with VB.NET let alone MySQL.Just FYI, at the moment I am only trying to Query the database to gather the information required to activate. The Activation wizard and algorithm building (which is finished anyway), and everything else will come soon. I chose the MySQL database because I have experience with it, and it seems the best option for remote usage.The whole idea already works in PHP, I'm just have major issues moving it accross into VB.NET (Using the MySQL Connector.NET);I understand the basics, and all I need to know how to do is Count Rows and gain access to the other information in a row based on provoided information (in PHP, through mysql_ result)
So, here goes nothing, this is the Query code I am using in PHP to complete the job I want to do in VB.NET. [code] As you can see, I basically need to get the PHP code into VB.NET to fit into the 'btnQueryDB.Click' Command in VB.NET. By Equivalent, the Product ID in VB.NET will come from 'txtPID' and similar, Serial Number will come from txtSNUM. Once counted to be 1, the Activation Code and Status will be fed into 2 other text boxes in the form. (acCode, and acStatus).

I am working on Treeview control and Gridview Control VB.NET08. In the Treeview i have Parent and Child Nodes. Like: [Code] Comparing the Parent Node text and first two digits in the Column values. I want to add rows inbetween the gridview rows based on the parent and Child Nodes. If i expand the First Parent Node Called "31" then according to the Number of Child Nodes (for first parent node(31) there are 5 child nodes.) add rows in the gridview.
These New rows should be add under the 31-xxxx. If i expand the 32 Parent Node based on number of Child Nodes, add rows under the 32-xxxx. [Code] I am getting the rows in the end of the Gridrow not in the Specific row.

How would i delete only the successful inserted rows for insert and then move the non successful rows up and allow the user to correct the data and get it ready for an insert. If i dont delete the successful rows then i will have multiple inserts of the same dataRow and we dont want that! AND if i dont move the data up then it will have blank rows uptop and will end the try and not insert the corrected data. You can better see what logic i am trying to perform at the bottom of my code, right after I insert into the database. Here is my code.

I have three sub tables that I want to process. For each I want to combine the rows, as they are only different by contents in the second column(I want to do the same to the fourth column, later):

I have this rather stupid litle excel issue which somehow just doesn't go away by itself;I'm creating a excel chart from three rows of information data. Each row has a header, so far so good. The first row exixt of calender data and I planned it to use them as my x-axis labeling. But somehow excel uses them as variables and changes them in to a third bar. know it is possible to have bounded and unbounded columns in a datagridview.Is it also possible to have bounded and unbounded rows?I knows its unorthodox, but I want to have two rows in my datagrid per item in my object list One row is bounded to the properties of each item; below that I want an unboundedrow of checkboxes for each property But since when binding the datagridview sets the rowcount equal to the list count, I'm not sure its possible.

get specific data from below case?. As it is imported from text file, all row data located at A column per Row and total number of rows are more than 30000. From below, I want to get Company name and Address data only out of long text data.
For your understanding, a)Each row start with 6digits number like 3336041, 3336058 etc and end with pin code 6digits. b) there are minimum 4 or more digit's space after company name and each address data.
Result should be got <company name> and <Address field> data only.
for example 1st block should have below format;

I am making a game and decided to add a high score section. I've successfully implemented the Find&Replace in the document... but the problem is that I have an unknown number of things that must be added into the table based on the data I'm querying from my database. I have a page with a form on it and needs a range of dates. Thus I've placed a number of textboxes on the page into which users can type dates. When the user clicks the save button I want to trigger a LINQ update to the SQL Server...all the rows already exist, so I'm just updating existing data.
For example, lets say my table looks like this:
Column Names: Description dateValue
Column Values:
Birthdate 1/1/1990
Anniversary 1/10/1992
Death 1/1/1993
I want to do something like this:

My DataGridView sorts by date. For grins I entered the date 11-02-2010 fully expecting it to be at the bottom of the list, not listed right after the last 11-02-2009 row and before the first 11-03-2009 row.How do I handle this so that come January 1, I won't see all the 01-01-2009 rows listed first followed by the 01-01-2010 rows then the 01-02-2009 rows, etc?
